This means that only experienced users knowing the obscurities of the tool can use it. 1) Use the page as target, so that log entries show up if you click View logs for this page from the history; must be hidden by default, like patrol and review. 2) Put the feedback item ID somewhere, maybe recycling the tags, so that one can also see the subset of the log pertaining to a single feedback item. There is a file called [mediawiki/core]/resources/jquery/jquery.collapsibleTabs.js. It's unused in core, as far as I could find: there is only a jquery.collapsibleTabs module defined for it, and for some bizarre reason it also greps in /tests/selenium/data/SimpleSeleniumTestDB.sql. Nothing else. Then there's a file called [mediawiki/extensions/Vector]/modules/ext.vector.collapsibleTabs.js. This one is used all right, and depends on the other one. And there's at least four things wrong with these two: * ext.vector one *overwrites* two internal functions of $.collapsibleTabs, just like that. You were using that in your own extension, buddy? Tough luck. * ext.vector also changes two default settings of the jquery one. Which is fine, except that Vector's ones differ by explicitly handling directionality (which the core version doesn't do). This seems like a bug in core, or dead code in Vector. * ext.vector depends on h5 headers in the navigation portlets, which were ages ago changed to h3s. I guess this is dead code if nobody noticed during all this time on all Wikimedia wikis, but I'm afraid to clean this up myself. * And last but not least, why do *two* files for this exist? If this is used only in Vector skin/extension, it should be moved entirely to one place. (And personally I couldn't care less whether this would be the skin (thus core) or the extension. Just plese clean this up.) I was trying to figure out why are things this way, but the commit that creates this file in Vector has a cryptic message of Ported JavaScript from UsabiltyIntiative/Vector [sic], so I gave up. Between these resolutions, the 'Why create an account?' is placed below the form itself. Especially given that it would still fit at these resolutions if formatted better, this seems quite odd, and is indeed distracting, especially if one happens to want more information, as the 'Why create an account?' does a very good job of camouflaging that link. At less than 980px it goes away entirely, which is probably what it should be doing at the larger resolutions as well if it can't be made to fit on the right even in abbreviated format. That said, if I say something looks bad, I would have thought the suggestion to fix it should be bloody obvious - make it not look bad. Also, I am on Opera, and I think so is Isarra.
Here's a CSS snippet that fixes this for me, and is basically much saner than
what is being done there right now. Of course this will have to be cleaned up
when merged with current CSS, and the code for hiding the right panel on small
resolutions will have to be adjusted (as this seems to break it).

If they are going to do this, there should be adequate space for them to do so without overlapping the 'Why create an account?' items. This makes it astoundingly easy to miss because a, it's surrounded by visually similar text, and b, that's just plain not where such things go. Such things go at the bottom of the form. This is where people expect to find them (since 'advanced fields' are a continuation of the stuff already on the page and people tend to read downward on a page), and also where they do not so easily get lost just in general. Can we move it? Sometimes I can not see edits since 23 January and sometimes I can see edits from 23 January but not more recent edits. When I edit a page as IP I can see the current revision and all revisions in the revision history. But when I delete the cookies or just use another browser I can again not see the recent revisions of this articles. Purging does not have any effect. (I just tried again to purge 1 minute ago) For example [[:es:Federico Macheda]] When I am not logged in I see an outdated revision of 21 January which contains vandalism. Also in the revision history I see only revisions until 21 January. The same problem concerns nearly ALL articles which were edited since 22 January. When I am logged in the problem disappears. The fixed-width of the content on the left results in quite a bit of unbalanced white space on the right, and the more info link that is centred under that just makes it stand out even more, especially when the entire thing should probably be centered more. And all that white space on the right just makes it even weirder that there is apparently not enough space on the left for the tooltipsies, which wind up on top of the 'Why create an account?' items... It should not be doing this, as it results in an inconsistent interface on the site and gives users a less unified experience. Now of course this probably seems like a complete non-issue to most folks, but arguing would be like trying to explain why intentionally opening security holes in a production server is still bad when chances are nobody will see it, or why blue and orange are pretty much the worst possible colours to use together with most anything, or why ankle-deep water all over the floor is bad.
