[Bug 44696] Ask API with XML format produces invalid XML (title tags)
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44696 --- Comment #16 from Al Johnson --- I don't see any use for the printrequests element in the XML format other than just confirmation of the output part of the query. Consumers will know what elements they are looking for and their XPath. Maybe it would be easier to let the XML format diverge from the JSON format by eliminating the printrequests element. I don't think the two formats need to mirror one another element-for-element; the formats are too different. It's issues like this that are already known to cause problems with JSON->XML conversion. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48836 Andre Klapper changed: What|Removed |Added Status|ASSIGNED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #8 from Andre Klapper --- Technically I cannot disable adding users manually to this group, but I've added "DO NOT MANUALLY ADD MEMBERS TO THIS GROUP WITHOUT LEGAL APPROVAL" to the group description. I hope that is sufficient and an acceptable workaround, plus Bugzilla allows (since 4.2) taking a look at user account histories (e.g. to see who gave permissions to who and when). As explained in comment 0, there seems to be a need that trustworthy Bugzilla users (e.g. security group) can mark specific comments/attachments as private without having to be part of the "admin" group, and the way I've set this up now (see comment 0) seems to be an acceptable trade-off. This is where I thought legal approval would be needed. As long as people aren't added to the privatecomments group without being a member of the admin or security group, there shouldn't be a legal issue. There are some bugs that are not in the Security product that have private comments so people in the "security" group would now be able to see these comments, but this is less of an issue to me. > In order to manually add people to the "privatecomments" group, a member of > either the "admin" or "editusers" group would be needed. And admins should be > trusted people anyway. I agree that admins are trusted, but if people are manually added to the "privatecomments" group then they may need to be approved by Legal for the reasons stated by Jarry above. [Bug 48836] Make it possible for specific non-admin Bugzilla users to hide specific Bugzilla comments
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48836 --- Comment #6 from Andre Klapper --- Admins have access to the Security product by default (as "admin" group membership inherits membership in the "security" group), and people who are no admins but members of the "security" group in Bugzilla have access to the Security product anyway. So there are no people who gain this new right but cannot access the Security product. Members of the "admin" and "security" groups are automatically members of the new "privatecomments" group, but people manually added to the "privatecomments" group (none so far, and no plans to do so) do not automatically gain access to tickets filed in the Security product. In order to manually add people to the "privatecomments" group, a member of either the "admin" or "editusers" group would be needed. And admins should be trusted people anyway. We need not > write > all alphabets with virama, but we can just use the gu unicode range like > this: > > $linkTrail = "/^([\x{0A80}-\x{0AFF}]+)(.*)$/sDu"; Yes Santhosh, that is true. I had originally provided the table for the entire gu unicode range, but as there might be puncuation marks in it, Nemo came up with an idea of character set to be defined. I provided characters with virama because, if there are joint characters, it should work. > > with $wgLanguageCode = 'gu'; it works. > > Please confirm that this is what you need. When you say it works, does it mean it is working somewhere in test enviroment? Can I test it? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 48837] New: Create branches in mediawiki/extensions/* for REL1_21
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48837 Web browser: --- Bug ID: 48837 Summary: Create branches in mediawiki/extensions/* for REL1_21 Product: Wikimedia Version: wmf-deployment Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: General/Unknown Assignee: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org Reporter: krinklem...@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Mobile Platform: --- Looks like we forgot to create REL1_21 branches in extension repositories. Though 1.21.0 was only released a few hours ago it is too late to branch them from master since we've been in the 1.22 cycle for several weeks now (REL1_21 was branched from master in mediawiki/core a few weeks ago and released now). Roan determined that the following commit is where master and REL1_21 diverged, so we need to use that date/time to backdate the branch: > $ git show 1f0fcc0f39211375f03e2e6e87fd5be179eff231 --pretty=fuller > commit 1f0fcc0f39211375f03e2e6e87fd5be179eff231 > Merge: 1b2c997 0f475b4 > Author: jenkins-bot > AuthorDate: Mon Mar 18 16:15:20 2013 + Commit: Gerrit Code Review > CommitDate: Mon Mar 18 16:15:20 2013 + > In: master, 1.21.0 This was determined from `git log --right-only gerrit/master...gerrit/REL1_21` and taking the parent (~`) from the last one. For all extensions we should branch at the closest one before or at "Mon Mar 18 16:15:20 2013 +". However, unfortunately the 1.21.0 bundle was created with the latest master heads of the bundled extensions, so we need to make an exception for those (provided by hexmode): Cite commit ba162a9464e23b6bea650a9c88ca9015c5ee0161 ConfirmEdit commit d696422c1afcd2863c36e3a13d6849c4e276ada0 Gadgets commit 867ccb19b47744df4f001a196ceea5f0b095a6f1 ImageMap commit 53c32896950071188ff793b532cf570233bea4ff InputBox commit 6c7f0edd57fac035211b2711123e8e37b2a323eb Interwiki commit 11a44da02b9b7003e440bd1cc10a219a583cdee1 LocalisationUpdate commit 7ce3c105ac75da0868260d3eacc9939818b6328f Nuke commit 8ae2ea0506ba3bfe6319d96955a5ac72fa464596 ParserFunctions commit 94cd358db925d63389609f765f81da831e5d5793 PdfHandler commit e3492c305195f948114e44117318ed3b296c9474 Poem commit 05a14a2e456378fc9ada55b7fa959976ac1a2182 Renameuser commit b7b5c2a529de35e634a0567cb11069981a3206f8 SpamBlacklist commit 26ebbf77672355c22cb30db87bafb114b1d84888 SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi commit 610d1789bdd73251101b2820039e0462a7ac3b2b TitleBlacklist commit 6fb13dd81d565583a9619f89d1183eaa6b02b317 Vector commit 39fea296f3a0d3083ec90dce892c9c3c43fa61a4 WikiEditor commit be8858a43b1516ec76b1d0bc82ca5e7abafde33a -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 18903] Override the name of the Squid Proxy owner to something meaningful
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18903 --- Comment #6 from p858snake --- (In reply to comment #4) > It was originally a real email address. This was filed back in the day when they were commonish sight (Secure maybe? I dont remember), I don't recall the last time i've actually seen one. So this bug can probably be closed out if we really wanted, or just put something like the generic noc@ in there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 48836] New: Make it possible for specific non-admin Bugzilla users to hide specific Bugzilla comments
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48836 Web browser: --- Bug ID: 48836 Summary: Make it possible for specific non-admin Bugzilla users to hide specific Bugzilla comments Product: Wikimedia Version: wmf-deployment Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: Bugzilla Assignee: aklap...@wikimedia.org Reporter: aklap...@wikimedia.org CC: aklap...@wikimedia.org, s...@reedyboy.net, thehelpfulonew...@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Mobile Platform: --- This problem came up in bug 48323 comment 4. Current situation: Marking specific comments and attachments in Bugzilla as private, and accessing comments and attachments marked as private require membership in the "insidergroup" group (which does not allow manual membership but can only be set to another existing Bugzilla group). The insidergroup group is currently set to the admin group in the Wikimedia Bugzilla configuration. General info: http://www.bugzilla.org/features/#private Problem: Sometimes trusted non-admin users want to hide a comment if it contains private info. So far reports were moved to the "Security" Bugzilla product which is unreasonable as the issue covered might not be a security issue and as it blocks access to the complete bug report instead of the specific comment only. Solution: Create a new Bugzilla group "privatecomments". Make members of "admin" and "security" group automatically members of the "privatecomments" group. (This new group will also allow adding individuals manually to the "privatecomments" group.) Set the insidergroup in the Bugzilla configuration to "privatecomments". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48835 Web browser: --- Bug ID: 48835 Summary: Separate Cache-Control header for proxy and client Product: MediaWiki Version: 1.22-git Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Unprioritized Component: General/Unknown Assignee: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org Reporter: tstarl...@wikimedia.org Classification: Unclassified Mobile Platform: --- MediaWiki has traditionally used the Cache-Control header to control the CDN (i.e. Squid reverse proxy), then the Cache-Control header for clients has been specified in Squid configuration. Specifically, when a certain URL regex matches, the Cache-Control header is stripped out and replaced with the configured header. This is not ideal, as noted by Gabriel in a comment in the original code. It would be better if MediaWiki specified both headers in its response, so that the URL regex and client Cache-Control header does not need to be maintained in the CDN configuration. Originally, this would have required a Squid patch, but now that we are switching to Varnish, the feature can be implemented with VCL. Specifically, MW should send a Client-Cache-Control header which Varnish will rewrite to Cache-Control as appropriate. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
