Once Safari was released, the bugfixes and improvements Apple made would be merged back into Konqueror, but they will only be in the upcoming KDE 3.2 release (of which the first beta is just out). Knoppix ships with KDE 3.1.4, hence its version of Konqueror still lacks the Apple contributed code. The next version of Knoppix should have KDE 3.2, so that could be an option. Hi Ralph I think it's the other way round - Safari works off Konquerer. I doubt MS would want people to run older versions of their products. I think they have enough headaches keeping Winternet Explorer secure.. Re: [WSG] OT: multiple IE versions
Here's another link on how to install multiple versions of IE (http://www.insert-title.com/web_design/?page=articles/dev/multi_IE). I found this through links on http://webstandards.org/buzz/archive/2003_11.html#000241 Chris * The discussion list for http://webstandardsgroup.org/ *
RE: [WSG] OT: multiple IE versions
Finally someone's done it - that's brilliant. The IE5.5 shows in the about IE section as being version 6, but it seems to be 5.5, as it misinterprets the box model. And you can run them open at the same time. Very cool. -Original Message- From: Mark Stanton [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, 7 November 2003 12:23 PM To: Sydney Web Standards Group; CFAussie Mailing List Subject: [WSG] OT: multiple IE versions Sorry for the cross post. For those that haven't heard - someone has managed to get multiple version of IE running on their machine, someone else has grabbed the minimum files required to run IE5.01 and IE5.5 (about 3mb each) and posted them on their site. http://www.skyzyx.com/archives/94.php Enjoy...
