That's correct. That type of automation is not supported.

How I personally handled ignored callsigns with JTAlert is to have
JTAlert set to color the decoded callsigns in WSJTX with a color
combination that makes it difficult to inadvertently try to work an
ignored station. I have my ignored callsigns alert set to grey text on a
black background, the callsign is barely readable, and the big black
blob of color in the WSJTX window provides the visual warning not to
double-click that decode.

The three flashes you mention occur at roughly these times into the

11.8 s: Attempt to decode many of the stronger signals, even before
their transmissions are finished.

13.6 s: Main decoding pass. Subtract signals from all previous decodes
from the received data stream.  Decode all possible remaining signals.

15.0 s: Subtract signals from all decodes in Pass 2.  Make a final
decoding attempt on what's left, with particular attention to signals
that might be another transmission from a station on that frequency
two sequences ago.

In all passes, attention is focused first on your selected Rx audio
frequency, then on all other frequencies displayed in the waterfall,
from bottom up.

[wsjt-devel] 2.6.0-GA BandAct column colored background

2023-01-07 Thread Richard V Zwirko via wsjt-devel
When I started using WSJT-X 2.6.0-GA, I checked the Settings, General tab
"Start new decode periods at top" checkbox. After functioning as it should
for many hours, I experienced an anomaly. The *background color* of all
decoded lines in the Band Activity column became *RED* for all 15 second
decode sequences that followed. The red background issue continued until I
right clicked on the column and selected "Erase". This action cleared the
problem.

The following day the same thing occurred, but the background color now was
YELLOW. Erasing all data in the column again corrected the anomaly.

Other than this infrequent issue, WSJT-X version 2.6.0-GA is working fine.
Since the newly improved decoding code was added to JT9.exe, I have noticed
a larger number of decodes per fifteen second FT8 period. I use deep decode
with Ap enabled. On packed 20, 15 and 20M bands Saturday morning, with
loads of Europeans on the air, I am consistently decoding between 50 and 60
decodes per sequence, over 200 lines per minute. I often see 3 to 7
decodes, all marked with "a7" on the far right side of the line. on what
appears to be a 4th pass to decode the most current WAV file.

So far, I'm very happy with the performance of WSJT-X version 2.6.0 .

  If you are using N Slots signals, your average transmitted power will be
P0/(N Slots) and the power in each signal will be P0/(N Slots) 2. Thus, for
N Slots = 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 the average power per signal will be down from
P0 by about 0, 6, 9.5, 12, and 14 dB, respectively.

[wsjt-devel] Sequence Issue

2023-01-07 Thread Bevan Daniel via wsjt-devel
Hello Joe and the Team,

I'm using WSJT-X v2.6.0-rc5 on a windows 10 PC

If I am completing a FT8 QSO and then responding to someone that has called me
then the auto sequence seems to mess with my messages, will try to describe it.

RX VK5BD JA4RSI PM64
TX JA4RSI VK5BD -15
RX VK5BD LA4RS1 R-11
RX VK5BD JR3JFX PM74
TX JA4RSI VK5BD RR73 Log window pops up and Enable TX is
cleared, I okay the log, wait for my TX to finish, click Enable TX, double
click on JR3JFX in the RX Frequency window, see that the next message will be
JR3JFX VK5BD -18, Then
RX VK5BD JA4RSI 73
TX JA4RSI VK5BD PF86I then notice all generated messages
now have JA4RSI instead of the JR3JFX that I was expecting

Shouldn't the auto sequence ignore the call sign of a 73 message and allow the
new call sign to be used

Re: [wsjt-devel] Q65 T/R listbox disappears. WSJT-X 2.6.0 GA Release

2023-01-07 Thread Charles Suckling via wsjt-devel
Hi Hatt

This was reported earlier on the wsjt.io list and Joe has commented that
this will be fixed in a release of 2.6.1 soon.

As of now, 2.6.0 will use the previous period length selected, so for most
users who use 60s periods this will probably go un-noticed. As you note, if
you want to change it then editing the .ini file is a workaround for now.

Re: [wsjt-devel] WSJT-X 2.6.0 GA Release

2023-01-07 Thread alan2--- via wsjt-devel
W10 64 bit installed OK here, apart from the W10 file catalogue issue I
posted a few days ago.

OK I made the edit to the Hamlib version in cmakelist.txt to 4.5.3
and was able to build 2.6.0 for Mac. A couple of issues I have
encountered during building the last several versions

Build environment MacOS SDK, Xcode, dependencies in Macports  and
Cmake 3.25.1

While building hamlib, I get this error:

*/Users/charlesrogers/Build/hamlib-prefix/src/hamlib/src/parallel.h:31:12:
**fatal error: **'linux/parport.h' file not found*

# include

I get around this by going into my build/hamlib-prefix/src/hamlib
and running ./configure

This solves the hamlib problem.

Since upgrading the  MacOS 13 Ventura, I’m getting this error:

*/Users/charlesrogers/Build/wsjtx-prefix/src/wsjtx/widgets/mainwindow.cpp:4822:9:
**error: **'sprintf' is deprecated: This function is provided for
compatibility reasons only.  Due to security concerns inherent in
the design of sprintf(3), it is highly recommended that you use
snprintf(3) instead. [-Werror,-Wdeprecated-declarations]*

    sprintf(s,"Tx:  %d Slots",foxcom_.nslots);

There is a similar error on line 4824

I’ve gotten around this by changing sprintf to snprintf in both
locations and rewrite the expression snprintf(s,*sizeof*(s),"Tx:
%d Slots",foxcom_.nslots);

      }*else*{

snprintf(s,*sizeof*(s),"Tx: %s",msgsent);

*
*

I’m providing this info in the event developers wish to update
code to resolve these errors. I’m still able to build from source
with the workaround noted above. Thanks to all for this software!

Try to download again. I think Sourceforge still had the old

Hi Uwe,

I just downloaded the tarball.
It still has the wrong CmakeLists.txt entry...

I used this link to download:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/wsjt/files/wsjtx-2.6.0/wsjtx-2.6.0.tgz
Is this the correct link??

Hi Stefan,

Yes, it must be 4.5.3. I have updated the tarball. Please
download again and see if it works better now.

Hi,

cmake generated an error:
CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:56 (file):
  file failed to open for reading (No such file or directory):

I think CMakeLists.txt should be:

---
> set (__hamlib_upstream hamlib-4.5)

[wsjt-devel] Q65 T/R listbox disappears. WSJT-X 2.6.0 GA Release

2023-01-07 Thread Hattori, Yoshihisa via wsjt-devel
In WSJT-X 2.6.0 GA Release, when Q65 is selected, T/R listbox disappears.
The user cannot change T/R duration in Q65.(Previously selected value is used.)
Other modes such as FST4/MSK144/FST4W look OK.
Please fix it. Thanks

Work around as of now is to modify WSJT-X.ini directly.
