Hi All,

apologies for the cross-posting.

Due to some recent Hamlib updates to resolve long standing issues with
band changing on modern Yaesu rigs it has become necessary to do some
urgent tests to verify correct behaviour. This concerns the following
rigs and their variants:

FT-450
FT-891
FT-950
FT-991
FT-2000
FTdx1200
FTdx3000
FTdx5000
FTdx9000
FTdx101
FTdx10

I am looking for owners of one of these rigs who are willing to run a
short test to gather diagnostics to verify correct Hamlib behaviour.
It will require downloading and installing a test version of WSJT-X
and running a short test plan, then sending back a log file. It should
only take about 30 minutes to complete. If the test passes that will
be all, if there are failures there will be an opportunity to help
with further tests to help with fixing any defects found.

The urgency is because I want to complete this exercise on as many of
the above rig models before the imminent General Availability (GA)
release of WSJT-X v2.3.0. Without this verification we will not be
able to ship with the latest Hamlib library code, which means many
recent defect repairs and support for new rigs will not be available.

I currently have access to to an FT-2000 so that one is already dealt
with.

Thanks in advance.

Re: [wsjt-devel] user_hardware file issue

2020-07-14 Thread Bensay 1
Dear Devel List,

I actually face an issue with the most recent version of WSJT-X;

WSJT-X are set to use an Yaesu FT-991;
But at each band change with CAT it keep calling an non existant file :
user_hardware + band value.

I've read this on the WSJT-X doc :
"Depending on your station and antenna setup, band changes might require other
switching besides retuning your radio. To make this possible in an automated
way, whenever WSJT-X executes a successful band-change command to a
CAT-controlled radio, it looks for a file named user_hardware.bat,
user_hardware.cmd, user_hardware.exe, or user_hardware in the working
directory. If one of these is found, WSJT-X tries to execute the command

user_hardware nnn
In the above command nnn is the band-designation wavelength in meters. You must
write your own program, script, or batch file to do the necessary switching at
your station."

In the past version I never face that situation before.

I've create an user_hardware.bat with only @Echo off inside of the file but
still no change.

Is this an already known issue ?

Where can I find the old 1.9 versions so I can go back to that and see if it
works?

Looks like WSJT-X can’t connect at all to the rig,

First guess :

Busy COM port ?

Wrong configuration ?

Did you try to temporarily downgrade to 2.1.2 version and try if it’s work with
that one ?

https://sourceforge.net/projects/wsjt/files/wsjtx-2.1.2/

If it’s work with 2.1.2 it’s seem to be a version issue.

If it’s the same it’s another kind of issue.

WSJT-X Ver 2.2.1 claimed to have fixed the config problem for the FT-991A.
Downloaded it and still have the same problem. Now I can't find the old
version that worked.

Re: [wsjt-devel] FT-991 Hamlib issue on WSJT-X2.2.0

2020-06-04 Thread Bensay 1
Dear WSJT-X Devel team,

Many thanks for your patience and the help;

I’ve just discovered a bug with the most recent WSJT-X version 2.2.0 released
two days ago.

Everything seem to works fine except the cat control.

My configuration :

Mini pc running Windows 10 /32 bits / version 1909
Rig Yaesu FT-991 (Last EU firmware) / Usb to pc control (COM 3 standard / COM 4
Enhanced port).

All the functions works like a charm on WSJT-X/2.2.0-Rc3 and previous version.
But when I’ve update to WSJT-X2.2.0 this evening the audio and decode functions
works fine but the VFO/CAT control give me an error.
“Hamlib error : invalid parameter while getting current frequency”;

Here is my radio settings onto WSJT-X (not change since my first config of the
app) :

Rig : Yaesu FT-991
Pooling : 1s
Serial port : COM4
Speed : 38400 (always works fine)
Data bits : 8
Stop bits : 2
Handshake : Hardware
PTT Method : CAT
Split : None
Mode : None

But if I downgrade to 2.2.0rc(1-2-3) or lower version , CAT come back as normal.

Is the new version of WSJT-X2.2.0 implement a new version of hamlib ?
Manual Hamlib update didn’t change a thing.

Reboot tried, full uninstall tried.
It’s definitely an hamlib issue on the new version.

Many thanks for your soon help & clues.

73s de Benjamin – F4FPR / AG5HQ.

Ps : If required I will be glad to help to the French translation of WSJT-X
