Re: [wsjt-devel] Frequency selector dropdown
Excellent thought Eric, but not the case here. I have 3 monitors. None are zoomed in but using the default sizes for the 1280 x 1024 for my monitors. #1 has HRD Logbook and web sites via Google, #2 is WSJTx and JTAlert with JTAlert taking top and right side of WSTJx. Even stopping those programs and taking WSJTx to full screen doesn't change the dropdown even after a restart of WSJTx in full screen mode. #3 monitor has HRD Rig Control with the WSJTx Waterfall taking the bottom 2/3rds of the window. Re: [wsjt-devel] Frequency selector dropdown
As a Windows application developer, I have observed the sizing issue described here when the Windows display settings are set to, say, 125% of normal. Not all widgets used in the application resize themselves and the result is truncated text in the widget. There are probably other causes for this condition, but this is an easy one to check. Bill, It looks like a Qt bug to me. I had deleted all of the UHF and above frequencies from the frequency list. That is why the combo box list was too narrow. I added a 10 GHz frequency back to the frequency list. Now the combo box list is wide enough for everything but the 10 GHz entry. George seems to have the opposite in that after a change it is ok but after a restart it is too small and eliding the text items. It would be good to know who is seeing this after an application restart along with the operating system and version and any font changes they have made in WSJT-X (the decoded text font doesn't matter here). 73 Bill G4WJS. ___ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
Re: [wsjt-devel] Frequency selector dropdown
I can duplicate this problem on RC5. I'm running Windows 10 preview release but I've seen this problem for a long time. There have been numerous Qt bug reports about text not fitting in tooltips, comboboxes, and such and I've seen it a lot on tooltips in WSJT-X. de Mike W9MDB On Wednesday, December 5, 2018, 8:50:27 AM CST, WB5JJJ wrote: No. 99.9% repeatable on restart. [wsjt-devel] Frequency selector dropdown
As you can see from the attached image, this is what I am dealing with. I had to increase the font and decoded text sizes to make them easier for me to read. This dropdown "most" of the time does not show the complete frequency. But on a rare occasion all information is displayed. Makes it kinda hard to select frequencies when more than one per band are listed. The Font is Consolas - Bold - 11 The Decoded Text Font is Consolas - Bold 15 This dialog box needs to be automatically sized based on data and font. I've learned to live with it, but this would be a welcome adjustment to the display. 73's -- George Cotton, WB5JJJ ___ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
