the database correctly?

Yes, it will.

Yes, Time Machine works at the file system level, separate from all
other applications.

I did not know that. Very cool!

For some versions of .icns files. For others, not so much ...

Dave,

It should work with all common formats of image data on the clipboard.

If there is particular icon/image that it isn't working for you, can
you contact <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> with steps to reproduce the
problem (and sample data if necessary) so I can look into it?

Qt about Time Machine

2008-04-15 Thread Mary Kay Trail
I am a new Mac owner and have minimal knowledge other
than using MS Office applications.

I have read some of the discussions about the
inability to backup Yojimbo with Time Machine. My
question is:

If Yojimbo is NOT running, will Time Machine backup
the database correctly?

Thanks in advance.

Agreed. 10.5 has a system-wide ToDo framework now, and it would be
great for Yojimbo to support this, but the drawback would be
dropping support for 10.4. I don't think that will happen just yet.

Yes definitelly Yojimbo needs an update! Just be more integrated with
OSX and allow people to open PDF file for editing in their favorite
program and save the PDF file back to the Yojimbo database without any
duplicates and with all the tags preserved. Would be just awesome! For
me there is lack of features like that, but also some integration
staff like TODOs and especially notes from the Mail.app!

+1

2) Hierarchical folder structure. I like getting organized and items
in notes in collections in folders would be beneficial

+10!!!

3) iPhone version so that I can have my collection on my phone, make
updates and sync back to my desktop version. This would be a killer
app for me at this point.

Can I go +100? :-)

4) Ability to easily change folder/other icons.

This is a little off topic but I thought people might be interested
that on 4/16 MacUpdate Promo will be offering a bundle of 10 programs
for $65. Parallels and Leap are included - don't recall the other 8
but if you are interested in might be worth checking their site on
Wednesday.

Leap is expensive ($59) but worth it in my book. If you don't want
to spend that much money, look at Yep ($39):

I ran into the same issue, and I came up with a very simple
solution: don't use Yojimbo to store PDFs that you want edit or
annotate. That's not what Yojimbo was designed for.

It just works with PDFs.

Hope that helps.

EagleFiler will also do this, and works with all different sorts of
document ($40).

Really, I imagine any organisation app which is more of an indexer
than a whole storage engine would, that's one of the advantages of
that particular method of going about things.
