2006-02-11 Thread Jim L

I always recommend TLH.
Its an incredibly versatile tool for most all lossless files. Now that
version 1.0 is out it can encode as well as decode. Does md5 checksum too and
shntool. Download it here and load your files using the decode tab. Be sure to
specify a different directory (folder) to decode to if youre working
directly off the disc.

RE: [Zappa-List] VO Project Object 2 x DVDs and 3 x VCDs

2006-02-11 Thread Jim L

You might try DVD decriptor
on it before sending it on. Ive had it read discs that wouldnt
copy before. Its become vary hard to find for download so Ive
made it available here on my web space for a day or two.

http://www.regyptionstrut.com/free/secret.zip

It will (if it can)
make the VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive. Then with Nero follow these
instructions.

Jim
 L

BURNING A DOWNLOADED DVD IN NERO

Since (I think) V5, Nero has included DVD burning and creation in it's suite
of programs. If all you want to do is burn an exact copy of what you've
downloaded, then you need to go to the Nero Burning Rom part of the
program-this is the 'classic' Nero interface which has remained pretty much
the same for years now (Other than having DVD burning added to it). It's
usually found in StartprogramsNero. In mine it's under Nero 6
Ultra
Version, yours will be whatever version of the program you've got, but it
will be there. When you do get there, a wizard will open-make sure DVD is
selected them choose 'DVD Video'

A possible alternate way to get to this part of the suite is from the Nero
Smart Start desktop logo, choose DVD, then hit the Photo and Video icon and
choose 'Burn DVD-Video Files'

Whichever method you've use so far, you will now see a 4 pane window-in the
second pane you will see two red folders, audio_ts and video_ts-click on the
video_ts one.

Now, in pane 3 navigate to wherever on your hard drive the DVD you
downloaded is stored, and click on it so it opens up in panel 4. You should
see audio_ts and video_ts folders again (It's possible that no audio_ts
folder will be there). Click on the video_ts folder, highlight ALL the files
in there and drag them across to pane 2.

Now all you need to do is stick a blank disc in, and hit the 'Burn' icon
along the top and your DVD will start to burn.

That's it, really!! What you don't want to do is use Nerovision Express
unless you specifically want to change the structure of the disc. This will
be a long, drawn out process that will result in the footage probably being
re-encoded, and you will lose the menu's.

Hope that helps

[Zappa-List] Re: New Vine Open:Thing Fish Pre-Release (FLAC)

2006-02-11 Thread Matthew Olmos
I have this already, so I'm not signing up. Rather, that tracklisting
is wrong. Here's the good one:
1. Prologue/The Mammy Nuns
2. Harry Rhonda
3. Galoot Up-Date (includes Approximate, parts heard on PORN WARS track)
4. The Torchum Never Stops
5. You Are What You Is
6. The Mudd Club
7. The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing
8. Dumb All Over (no phasing effects)
9. Heavenly Bank Account
10. Teen-age Wind (Harry-As-A-Boy sings new leads)
11. Suicide Chump
12. Jumbo Go Away
13. If Only She Woulda (Short connecting bit)
14. Drafted Again (Includes Moon shouting commands)
15. The Massive Improv'lence
16. Artificial Rhonda
17. Amnerika (instrumental, fades out)
18. No Not Now (fade in)
19. Briefcase Boogie
20. Brown Moses
21. Drop Dead (includes bonus Crab-Grass Baby dialogue)
22. Won Ton On

[Zappa-List] seek your advice

2006-02-11 Thread cw_robcastaneda
Hi,

I'm a relative newbie to Frank Zappa music. To begin I bought a best of album
to get a
sampling (with over 70+ albums to chose from and such a wide variety it is hard
to
choose!).

The first song on the album - Peaches En Regalia hit me right up front and I
would like to
ask which other songs/albums offer similar styles of compositions. The vocal
stuff doesn't
do much for me at this stage, but I'm really hungry for the peaches style
compositions.

Any advice or pointers would be appreciated.

thanks.

-Rob
