Hi, Actually, it is - well it's not a file but a directory containing cpu related libraries, like: /usr/lib/cpu/sparcv8plus+vis/libmlib.so.2 f none 0555 root bin 34066720 1652 1125338468 SUNWmlib /usr/lib/cpu/sparcv8plus/libCstd_isa.so.1 f none 0755 root bin 167248 3111 1132778371 SUNWlibC /usr/lib/cpu/sparcv8plus/libmlib.so.2 f none 0555 root bin 36279924 35129 1125338469 SUNWmlib /usr/lib/cpu/sparcv9+vis/sparcv9/libmlib.so.2 f none 0555 root bin 37078988 46869 1125338471 SUNWmlib /usr/lib/cpu/sparcv9+vis2/libmlib.so.2 f none 0555 root bin 32034996 4352 1125338472 SUNWmlib /usr/lib/cpu/sparcv9+vis2/sparcv9/libmlib.so.2 f none 0555 root bin 34764372 46904 1125338474 SUNWmlib I would be more inclined to see if anything was loopback (or otherwise) mounted into that directory from somewhere. HTH, =wb I am guessing this is a file you somehow added to your system with some unbundled software. Do you have an application running in the global zone that has this file open? If you have an application running in the global zone that is opening a file in the non-global zone that could be a serious security risk. But most folks apply patches in bulk, and if one, like the Kernel patch requires single user, then typically they all get installed in single user. I have never heard of anyone breaking up the Rec and Sec cluster into pieces that may be installed in multi user versus those that cannot. It seems to me that if a patch _must_ be installed in multi-user, that fact should be flagged in big letters at the top of the patch README. I would still like to know if there are any resources that explain patching systems with zones - or should it just work no matter how we do it ? :-) Thanks, =wb ___ zones-discuss mailing list zones-discuss@opensolaris.org

Bash is only available in the End User install and larger, so folks using a Core install or smaller wouldn't be able to use this. OTOH, ksh is available in all clusters, $0.02, Thanks, =wb ___ zones-discuss mailing list zones-discuss@opensolaris.org

Bash is only available in the End User install and larger, so folks using a Core install or smaller wouldn't be able to use this. However, zonemgr only deals with zones and the Solaris zones packages (SUNWzoneu and SUNWzoner) are only available on the End User and larger metaclusters. Well, IMO, that also is a mistake. Why on earth would one need to install the entire End User bundle just to get Zones. At the risk of attaching too much significance to the name, End Users don't install or manage zones, do they? :-) We install the Core and add the 10 or so packages needed to get zones. I assume that other customers might well do the same thing. HTH, =wb ___ zones-discuss mailing list zones-discuss@opensolaris.org
