but i think i am fairly save when say it's Phuture's Acid Tracks. There is a
nice interview with Marshal Jefferson in the Modulations documentary where
he explains how he made that track together with Nick Jones and
heard this from other people as well.

a real good primer would be the hardfloor x-mix. it has tracks by dj
pierre, armando, phuture.
unfortuately, it doesn't have 'acid track', but i don't know of anyother
real good chicago acid 'mix' cds.

acid originated in chicago in the late 80s. it was the high point of human
civilsation. some of the early producers are dj pierre and phuture and
phortune, armando, bam bam, mike dunn, house master baldwin, laurent x. some
of the labels are trax, dj international, future sound, early dance mania,
about four or five years ago dj pierre played an acid house set at baktun in
new york. absolutely amazing night.

uncontroversial. Similarly, techno came from Detroit. Compare techno came

Acid House was a label put onto music after DJ Pierre's Acid Tracks came out
on Chicago Trax. The tag was picked up by British Ravers and the media
because everyone was going to raves and doing LSD. Also the smiley face
symbol which was synonimous with acid usage in the 60's got picked up by
i dunno. you think it was a bandwagon back then? maybe that was when he
actually cared? now he is on one.god its really bad too.

underground stuff back then sold out big time, DJ Pierre
actually remixed Rupaul :)..Oakenfold remixed U2 and so on..
