Finally, the reason I need to drop this list forever. There is very activity,
and extremely little useful content here. And the level of bullying and abuse
has become intolerable.
Goodbye 4D iNug. You were great while you lasted.

I currently support a number of legacy applications on unsupported versions of
4D. In the past I supported an enterprise system centered on 4D which spent
much of its 25 year existence on unsupported versions of 4D. If your app is
stable and you don't plan on needing to use new 4D features it
ere a cost?

This year 4D Inc in San Jose has been offering more “Beginning 4D” classes than
they have in recent years. According to their Sales VP they have all been full,
with plenty of developers fresh out of CS school. So the demographics may be
changing.

I presume Win64API requires 64 bit client, but I don't know that for sure. Can
you confirm that? I tried to find documentation or earlier verions in the
repository, but I haven't mastered GitHub navigation yet.
Still in 32bit world,

I agree. It’s no wonder why there are so few contributors left here.

There are lots of Javascript based charting libraries available. Many years ago
I used Google Chart, which is now deprecated, to quickly move some server
metrics graphs out of 4D Chart. Basically you pass the data to the library then
it sends back the chart which you display in a Web Area.
Hi Alan,
I think you're looking for the "Window Bounds" folder. In my v17 environment
it's in the AppData\Roaming\4D Server folder.

I've noticed similar copy issues in RDP sessions. In my experience it has not
been limited to 4D.
Are you using Microsoft Remote Access for Windows or MacOS? I ask, because the
MacOS version seems to be more stable and certainly has a better UX than the
Windows version.

Years ago when I had to do a screen pop from a phone system, I used the 4D
OLE_Tools to handle an inter-application call from a .net app. It sent a
payload which included the unique ID of a customer record in the 4D DB. There
was a 4D process which listened for that call and automatically
Ring Central has an API.. https://developers.ringcentral.com/api-reference
That's the first place I would start.

I have used v13.6 on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012. 4D Server, 4D
Standalone. Even EOM Builds work.

There is an option in preferences to receive an “Activity Summary” which isn’t
quite like a digest, but I find it useful. And I only get them a couple of
times per day.

Yeah, I still monitor this list, but there is very little activity. And if
there’s no activity, what’s the point?
I actually like the new discuss forum. In fact, I like it a lot. I like the
ability to post pictures and formatted code. I also like that there are lots of
engaged 4D developers,
Another good reason to avoid automatic relations, if possible.
It’s hard to keep track of all the things that 4D does behind the scenes.

Hi Jeremy,
I haven’t actually done it, but I think you wouldn’t insert a break, but rather
create a new “WP Section”. This blog posting may help:

Hi Chip,
The trick with Excel is that it uses a 'soft return' within a cell. To get that
soft-return within Excel you type Alt-Return (on Windows) or
Control-Option-Return (on MacOS).
I don't remember what the Character Code is for that character, but that's what
you'll need to include in
I spent many hours sorting this out a few months ago. The file needed to be
easily read by Excel (as in your case) plus it needed to be importable into SQL
Server. I ended up creating a CSV with CRLF record delimiters. But I also
processed the embedded soft returns in a way that escapes me
