Hi all, 

Audio captcha not working on many browsers like Safari. Also, it won't be 
accessible for people with hearing impairment. Even for visually impaired 
people it won't be feasible in many circumstances. Hence advocacy must continue 
for OTP option to verify user or else to do away with captcha altogether.

BMC to check if differently abled can access key buildings - Times of India

MUMBAI: Bombay high court directed BMC on Thursday to inspect some 15
buildings and commercial establishments within three days and submit a
report stating whether they are friendly to the differently abled. A bench
of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and Justice Bharati Dangre said,
“...inspect and report whether the statement that they are is correct or
not.” TimesView While the rules are clear that establishments and buildings
must have facilities for the differently abled, these exist simply to tick
boxes so that permissions are obtained and then used for other purposes.
The BMC does not monitor, nor does society as a whole worry about the
issue. Cultural and entertainment spaces too are important, and the
differently abled must have easy access to these. It's high time laws are
enforced. The bench was hearing a PIL filed by interior designer Nisha
Jamwal and advocate Abha Singh on the absence of facilities such as ramps
and accessible washrooms for the differently abled in public spaces,
including those of cultural importance. They gave a list of 15
establishments across Mumbai that lack such facilities, including Sterling,
Regal and INOX cinemas, Oberoi Hotel, National Gallery for Modern Art, Jade
Garden and Aer at Four Seasons Hotel, Worli. Singh argued there was an
absence of ramps at polling booths during elections. The judges, though,
pointed out that they are temporary as elections are held once in a while.
More than at polling booths, there is a need for permanent ramps, they
said. “That you are not bothered about,” said the CJ. The judges asked
BMC’s advocate that while granting sanction for construction, whether it
checks for access to the differently abled along with their wheelchairs.
“That you will not answer,” said the CJ. Singh said development control
regulations say no occupation certificate can be given to a building unless
access is provided to the differently abled. “Most of them make it
available. But they block these places. In all public buildings we find
that,” said the CJ. The judges also said before an OC is issued, BMC is
supposed to record in it that the construction is in conformity with the
sanctioned plan. BMC’s advocate sought two weeks to reply specifying if the
15 buildings have such facilities. “We’ll issue notices to them,” he added.
“Don’t give thrash reply. There is a law,” said the CJ. At one point, the
judges said they would depute a court commissioner to check and verify
these establishments. They then said BMC must do the needful within three
days and inform it on August 26.

MUMBAI: The Bombay high court on Thursday lambasted the Reserve Bank of
India (RBI) for not responding to the question why it frequently changed
the size of currency notes. A bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and
Justice Bharati Dangre was hearing a PIL by the National Association for
the Blind seeking the production of currency notes and coins friendly to
visually challenged people. On August 1, the RBI had been directed to reply
and state what its compulsion was in changing the note size frequently. The
court was peeved when the RBI advocate sought time "to collect data and
past history and reasons regarding the decision". "For a decision you don't
need data," Chief Justice Nandrajog said. The judges said the claim that
notes are changed to tackle fakes was exposed during demonetisation. "Every
currency note issued by RBI went back to RBI," Chief Justice Nadrajog said.
The bench questioned the delay in informing it of the reason for changing
notes, saying if there is a valid reason it will be told at the first
instance. "Is that somebody sitting there saying... just do it?" Chief
justice Nandrajog said. The judges said the RBI could not exercise its
power to cause inconvenience to people. The judges said a PIL could be
filed asking why the Re 1 note, which is official currency, is out of
circulation. "That is the legal tender. Others are promissory notes," Chief
Justice Nandrajog said. The judges said visually challenged people took
time to get familiar with the denomination of notes according to their
size. "Please at least come and tell us ... in future we are not changing
the size of currency notes. If that is done, by and large the problem is
solved," Chief Justice Nandrajog said.

yes sir. its working in chrome. but we have to use headphone or
herephone to hear it clearly. i will check with firefox shortly. glad
that SBI keeps its promiss of 27th august. i would like to clarify you
all thing. no technology can provide us security be it Captcha or OTP
or face recognition unless and otherwise, users are vigilant by not
sharing their passwords or OTP and not installing dangerous unknown
apps and not using net banking in unsecure public WIFI areas or
unknown outside PCs.

Greetings.

The voice capture option is finally available on the SBI netbanking
site. However you have to use it with Google Chrome. I have not tested
with Firefox and it certainly does not work with Internet Explorer.

SBI in India has been known for it's excellent service to persons with 
disability and this latest decision to introduce capture verification code on 
the SBI netbanking sight is unfortunate. We have been receiving cold response 
from SBI customer Service executives on this matter. As SBI netbanking already 
has security features included at multiple stages of it's navigation, kindly 
consider our situation and take back the capture code from the netbanking sight.

unfortunate. We have been receiving cold response from SBI customer
Service executives on this matter. As SBI netbanking already has
security features included at multiple stages of it's navigation,
kindly consider our situation and take back the capture code from the
netbanking sight.

However in view of the huge increase in failed login attempts on thr INB
system which signals a brute force attack by criminals, this initiative was
taken as a quick fix measure to protect the interests of crores of INB
customers.

We would like to advise you that a Voice Captcha is under  development  and
we expect to roll it out by 27/08/2019.   This would enable our esteemed VC
customers like yourself  also to use INB independently.

We request you to bear with this mild inconvenience for few days, in the
interests of enhanced  security of your account and funds.

you should install older version of firefox ver 47, 21 etc. in jaws 13 newer 
version of firefox can't be accessed.

it is schedulaed my presentation on samsung accesible tv in the upcomming say 
every thing convention. It is difficult to demonstrate the entire accesibility 
of tv set in given time “30M” Hence, I have uploaded the demo in audio in 
google drive. I request all participants to please download and listen the 
demo. However, I’ll come with audio files and will try to play upto some extent 
in the convention. I also request the participants raise your queries and 
doubts in the convention regarding the functionality and accessibility of the 
tv set. I also request to be particular while raising your doubts. please don’t 
ask questions like policy matter of samsung, its price, cost, whether IRCTC can 
be opened with its browser or not.
