surely its misconception ,
i remember, a film, dont remember the name, Sanjivkumar was in it,
Sanjivkumar was blind man, he kills his wife, he was sure that she
was going out with some other man.
he was never a suspacte, because of his blindness, till he admited,
how he killed.

though film, blind can kill or even rape.

2016-10-11 Thread pankaj Singh kushwaha
really, the term Divyang insults persons with disabilities on
following grounds, I. it denys the individuality of disabled person,
II. it does not recognise the personal capability, III. it takes
disabled people more than human, IV: the term Divyang, refers godly
capability rather than human capability, V. it gives religious
interpretation of disabled people, VI. it establishes direct contact
with god, VII. It withdraws the societal responsibility to adopt
inclusive social environment, VIII. it proves that the divyang is
acquired by that person only while the disability studies and
scholars associated with understand that disability is created by the
society. On 10/11/16, sadaf khan <ksadaf1...@gmail.com> wrote:

Re: [AI] Read on: "BLIND PERSON CAN'T RAPE WHILE GIVING A BATH", COURT

2016-10-08 Thread Vamshi. G
Mohib,

The discussion here is not about what is truth or lie. Its about
whether a court can have such perceptions that a blind person can't
give a bath or rape someone.

2016-10-08 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
I am interested in the case just because of the reasoning of the court
that there is a long gap between the incident and the complaint, so
if there were some social stigmas and other problems, can't it be
justified that she didn't complain erlier?

I'm also keen to know the more details. It seems that the case was
only reported by the India Today. And the reporter's E-mail address is
given in the report. One could seek more details from Sneha. This case
was probably disposed off in one of the district courts in Delhi.
Moreover, I'm mulling to write an Op-Ed for an mainstream Indian Daily
over this issue. And the list could help me in collating similar cases
where jurors narrow outlook accentuated the entrenched farce
perception against the persons with disabilities. Such observation by
the judge if not rebuffed or condemned, has a propensity to crystalise
the notion that the blindness and divinity go together. And any
'aberration' if alleged and reported should be booed away as false
'accusation'.We shouldn't let these judges spread unfounded lies about
our lives. At times, one is provoked to pose bluntly: 'who will judge
the judges'?

Will someone help with more details-Magistrate's name, Which Court?
It will be easy to find if we know where this person lives.
The newspaper report quotes that a blind person cannot rape and also
states that a blind person cannot give bath.
What did all the blind mothers and fathers in this group do?

Such false misconception must be resisted. I don't know whether her father
raped her or not, but the Court's observation about blind people's ability
to rape is fallacious. Instances abound, where blind people have misbehaved

society understands us as fit to nothing and some people use that
misconception to their advantage.
its good and positive in one way that at least from these incidence,
society will come to know that we are capable of anything.
if that girl is really raped then, she will be sure of blind people's
abilities at least in this area now.
