Hello,
we are running an TDP for MSSQL on NT Agent ( V 1.1.2 ) on an clustered NT
CLient. ADSM Server is 3.1.2.20 ( I know - out of service) on an RS6K/AIX.
We backup abouth 35 MSSQL DBs in sequence. Each time we run the backup (
eighter full or inremental ) we get about 10 times the error.
The TSMXX.README.SRV file has the instructions to set up the LTO library/drives.
Yes, you should use /dev/smc0 as the library controller device.

Thankyou for the excellent write-up of your understanding of how

What I think you are saying is that for the log (in roll-forward)

Hello ADSM/TSM guys,
Can I restore an ADSM 3.1.2.90 Database running on AIX 4.3,

Hi Richard,
I agree - the only problem is the TSM4.1 does not give you any indication of
the actual volume name - the 3.7 server does.
So in order to find out what tape your backup file is located on you will
first need to run a select * from contents where node_name='BLAH' and ..

Hi Bert,
No - first of all you can not restore an older DB(3.1.2.90), to a newer
level of the server(4.1) - even if it were on the same platform.
Secondly - you can not restore the db from AIX to OS/390 - cross-platform.
You need to do export db and import on OS/390 to achieve this.

I have seen this situation before. Answer is usually that there is a

Then you will have 2 DBSNAPSHOTS, so you can delete the DBSNAPSHOT that is

Hello there
We use a TSM scheduled task that uses NTBACKUP in WIn2k to backup the system
state to a flat file (some 200-300MB needed to dump this to disk), and then
use TSM to back up this and all the other files.
For a restore we restore all the files with TSM (including the NTBACKUP
file) and
you have to create mt devices as well.

I would like to take an informal survey of the group to find out what you
would like to see in a Tivoli Storage Manager Mac X client.
As I see it, any solution must provide at least the same function set that
is in the current Mac client, with the addition of UFS support.
However, I would like
