You can use either one -- format=drive or format=ultrium2c. However, if you
do not want the drive to write with compression, you will need to set
format=ultrium2.

Find a TSM device driver utility called lbtest.exe. Then run lbtest -d
lb0.1.1.3 and choose manual test. Run option 6 to open, 8 to get element
count and 9 to get inventory. Are these options successful? If fails,
what's the error message?

IBM 3590H was GA'd 07/02. The TSM device driver (adsmscsi.sys) can be used
