any suggestions for an easy time server for our network?
We have had issues in the past with them getting out of whack or stopping
responding.

There's an NTP package for routerOS. You have to download the all
packages zip file, upload the ntp package and reboot. Then I think you
find it under System - NTP, or maybe IP - NTP.
I doubt it gets much easier.

I have this old rb750, I could put that on it and stick it on the edge of
the network with no public IP space on it and it will be solid? Is NTPD
very heavy if its what the whole network is using for time?

Whole network of say 200 routers/devices? Probably be ok. An rb750
doesn't have a whole lot of CPU, but I don't think ntpd is all that
intensive.

to around 25mbps throughput, but I think if you ever
see that on NTP then you *may* have other problems.

I doubt it gets much
server package, reboot, reinstalled, no problem
after that.

Is it advisable to run service like that on actual routing infrastructure,
say when we transition our two primary routers to mikrotik? If the ACL only
allows our infrastructure and some select clients? What I dont want to do
