I have installed OpenWebRX on the Pi and it works fine.

Hi John and all,
I'm not sure whether HDSDR is usable with the hfplus, it may be
worth having a google on that. As for OpenWebRX, see

Hi,
I don't think tuning is going to be a problem for a blind user in
most cases. The trouble, if any, will come in the back-end setup and of
course, tuning in Windows. The interface offered to the public by OpenWebRX
is quite usable. Note also that some of the stuff offered by OpenWebRX i
Hi Tom.
I'm telling you to do this from within Windows, not from within VLC. There is a

get to with ctrl-p, however I do not believe it is very accessible. In any

An easier thing to do may be if you right click on the video, arrow
down to open with and then choose vlc. If vlc is not listed you will
have to choose other and browse for the executable.

You don't have to set it for everything. Only video files, as that's what you
want. I do not know how this works in Windows 7, but I imagine it isn't too
dissimilar to windows 10. Default programs is probably in control panel,
whereas in Windows 10 it's in settings. You still have a search box i

Hi Dane,
Yes, mine has a metal casing and looks allot better than the DVBT
dongles I saw some years ago. Whether it performs better is another thing, but
certainly it looks like things have advanced over the past few years.
As for the Kiwi being web-based, that's certainly true,
Hi John,
Thanks for the report. I can confirm what you say about SDR#. On
windows, have you tried HDSDR? It seems to have a ton of keyboard shortcuts,
which is at least something. Also, have you tried installing OpenWebRX and

Thanks,

More importantly the Kiwi SDR is a Web Based SDR solution whereas the RTL units
are USB dongles, the cheaper end of the range if you like.
Actually there are a new breed around which are better constructed in metal
casing so must look into those myself.

Hi Dane and all,
Thanks very much for looking into this. Keep in mind that the RTLSDR is
quite different from the KiwiSDR. RTL is much cheaper, for one
thing, and the Kiwi SDR is basically a kit with its software, as you say below
