Re: [all-audio] podcasting, any tips?

Use Auphonic.

Hello,

I'm dipping in to podcasting. I've made and submitted one, but think I
could do better. The podcast is a demo which is recorded on my s10+
using amazing mp3 recorder, and demoing features of the phone so it's
also talking.

One thing I've noticed is sometimes the audio isn't right, it's either
to loud or not loud enough, I've maximized volume. I am using
goldwave6 with some added-vst-plugins for post-processing. The files
are recorded as wav files then saved as 44.1Khz 64Kbps mp3 files.

I thought about giving a compressor a go to make my voice crisper and
the phone volume more even as well, but don't want to smash things to
soundly.

I'd appreciate any tips.

Thanks.

hi there if u want to transfer your tapes on to your pc
i would invest if u can in a good quality tape machine
that has controls for alining the play and record heads,
as different tapes r recorded with different head positions.
if your soundcard has a 3.5 jack socket,
then plug a mixer in to the line in socket,
and plug your tape machine in to one of your faiders,/line ins on the
mixer.

hope this helps.

Hi everyone,

I've had the great pleasure of using my Zoom H1 recorder for 9 years and

Actually I had 2 Zoom H1 recorders so that's how much I thought of the
machine and I still have a fondness for the H1.

To me the H1 truly stood out as an example of exactly what a Handy Recorder
should be with no complex menus and recording was as straight forward as it
possibly could have been, press a button and you're recording.

So time to move on and I'm thinking about the Zoom H1N or possibly the Zoom
H2N.

I know some list members have the H1N, what do they think of the machine.

I've looked at the H1N home page and there's no doubt that the H1N certainly
packs it in when it comes to nice handy and useful functionality.

Re: [all-audio] Hosting a Podcast

2019-01-12 Thread Christopher Wright
As someone who deals with podcast production for a living, I can give
you some guidance on this.

As you said, Wordpress is often used. Once the theme is configured, you
don't need to do too much messing around with it.

A Decent Wordpress-independent solution is Libsyn.

www.libsyn.com

Another option is Buzzsprout.

www.buzzsprout.com

Here's one more, Blubrry.

www.blubrry.com

Although Blubrry seems to be more focused on Wordpress, compared to the
other two I mentioned, I like the accessibility.

Example:

www.dayinwashington.com

On 1/12/2019 7:13 PM, Danny Miles wrote:

Hi everyone. Apologies if this is off-topic but, as it relates to
sharing audio content, I hope it's suitable for the list.

I'm looking for advice from anyone who is totally blind regarding the
best (most accessible) places to host a podcast. Ideally, this would
be somewhere that has a set template, saving me the necessity of
checking with someone sighted whether or not changes or additions to
the page are visually appropriate. I've previously used Audioboom
(when it was Audioboo, admittedly) and Mixcloud to upload content but,
as I'm not aware of being able to share posts from either of these
platforms to iTunes via an RSS feed, they don't really meet my needs.
I know that Wordpress and related blogging servers are often used but,
as far as I understand it, these still require initial theme selection
and potentially continuous visual monitoring to ensure a professional
presentation (just like any DIY website). I thought about uploading
an audio podcast to Youtube with an image attached but, again, I don't
think content from here can be shared to iTunes (which, as far as I
understand it, is the place where most downloads come from).

So, any suggestions or guidance will be much appreciated. If the
topic is too wide or if the subject matter is irrelevant to this list,
please email me directly via
toptunesda...@gmail.com

Many thanks - take care, Danny

Hi,

I'm sorry to be dense, but are you after one product which will
record from all three, landline, internet phone, and cell, or are you after
separate products for each method of recording? Both exist, you understand,
my point isn't to rule out one option, I just want to know which you're
looking for specifically.
I may also say that recording is easy, automatic transcription is
fairly hard. Also, if I may ask, what is your budget for this?
Finally, relating specifically to the cell, what phone and network
are you wanting to use?
HTH,
Aman

Hi list,

Wanted to put this out there as I don't know if anything exists. I'm looking
for either a stand alone unit or software to record phone calls either
through a landline call, internet phone, or cell. If possible I would also
like something with an option to have the audio translated to text. Again
don't know what is out there, but would love your thoughts. Thanks

Hi!
Thanks to the list member who recommended the Zoom H6 recorder, I’ve had mine
for a month and to say I’m pleased with this recorder is indeed an
understatement.
The Zoom H6 is the best field recorder I’ve ever owned for so many reasons
which include usability.
The ability to record 6 tracks at once right out of the box is a plus as none
of the recorders I have will do that.
The sound from the supplied microphone capsules has to be heard to be believed
as it sounds so much better than most other supplied microphones for field
recorders you’re likely to hear.
All of the functions I use are accessible without the help of the menu system
though I do plan to write a menu shortcuts document for the recorder though its
the usual thing of finding time.
