The problem is that clicking Change All does not actually make all the changes when you click the button. The label suggests that clicking the button will apply the correction to the entire document, but if you close the spellcheck before it has searched the entire document, then some corrections may be missed. There are now at least two open issues for this problem: this one, and Issue 110688, and another that is incorrectly marked as a duplicate. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Approach: Use conditional paragraph styles for the outline items and set the Outline Numbering Outline Outline level property for the styles applied at the top two levels. That should allow the ToC to pick up the desired items from the outline. Problem: This works for the first creation of the ToC; however, if the outline structure is changed and the ToC updated, items at new levels may appear in the ToC when they should not, or may appear at the wrong level in the ToC. It seems this happens because the outline level property does not get adjusted when the list level changes (promote/demote) and a new paragraph style takes effect. Format Paragraph Outline Numbering after promoting or demoting the item shows that the property has not changed along with the other style properties. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Maybe you problems are because of somewhere on your system the old OpenSymbol can still be found and gets used with OOO330. Thanks--you are exactly right. Sorry I didn't think of this :O Instead of the new OpenSymbol, my tests were actually using the system-wide font, installed by Fedora's package of OOo 3.2. If I repeat the tests where I know 330m2 uses the new font file, then I get normal results, in fact the spacing I see is now less than before, as mru noted above. I'm running 32-bit X86. This can be closed as far as I'm concerned; it seems to be a font version/selection issue, which is already covered by Issue 113586. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The first shape with this combination is exported correctly, but causes the following elements to appear out of position and inverted. Maybe a transformation matrix is not being restored? I agree, the problem is in OOO330_m2 but not in 3.2.1. In the template linked above, the specific shapes that cause the problem are the lower sides of the text blocks on each slide. I'm attaching a modified document, made from that template, containing a simpler test slide and having a style to control the area fill for the lower side shapes in the actual presentation slides. By modifying the style to use transparency or not, you can see that the PDF export is either broken or ok. I'm also attaching a screenshot showing the problem PDF as rendered by evince. Note: the problem is triggered by shapes that use _both_ transparency and a gradient fill. Neither property alone with cause the problem. I've only configured the test document to toggle the transparency property. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The same formula, created in an earlier OOo version, will have its spacing altered if it is edited in the new version. See the attached document to demonstrate the problem. The problem does not seem to come from the updated OpenSymbol font; samples using that font don't show any extra space. I suppose it hardly matters, since the space after the symbols was already too big--making it a bit larger hardly makes it any worse. I just thought it was odd that the spacing should change like this. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The cropping problem here is specific to the particular graphic: only the second graphic in the sample document shows a problem with cropping. The two graphics are svm metafiles. If you copy/paste the second graph to OOo Draw, and break the metafile into individual elements with Modify Break, you can see the the final segment of the blue line extends into outer space: Draw shows it's height as almost 7 meters! Other problems also become apparent with this operation (text becomes invisible), so it's not clear whether the metafile itself is defective, or whether OOo has bugs in handling that format. I'm attaching the metafile, extracted from the original .odt, in case anyone wants to take a look at it. This is not my document, so I can't say anything about where the metafile came from. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. In other words, use the USB stick purely as a transfer device. I have no clear rationale to support that approach, and I agree, it's inconvenient, but it does seem to help. If nothing else, it means that you have a backup copy if the stick dies or gets lost. Obviously, this only works when you have r/w access to the local hard drive. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The file contains partial data from a document archive, mixed in with data from a completely different file not related to the document, or even OOo. In this case, the other data seems to be part of a mozilla application, firefox perhaps, as it is similar to the firefox compreg.dat file on my system. I can't imagine what sort of bug in an application could result in mixing data from different files like this, but perhaps it is possible with Windows. Just as a guess, since using a USB drive seems to be a common element with corrupted files, if OOo could somehow trigger filesystem/driver problems leading to mixed files? I'm attaching the zip data extracted from the corrupted file; unfortunately, it does not include any document content. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=113260 Issue #|113260 Summary|improved information display in OOo file dialogs Component|framework Version|OOo 3.2.1 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|ENHANCEMENT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|ui Assigned to|tm Reported by|jes --- Additional comments from j...@openoffice.org Mon Jul 19 21:25:44 + 2010 --- I wonder if it would be possible to consider some simple improvements to the OOo file dialogs, to make them just a bit more useful and a little easier to use? The most important change would be to 1) Make more room for the file names, so that the dialog displays as much of the file name as possible. The current dialog has extra space available while the file names are truncated. The second improvement would be to 2) Change the file type label text, so that the label starts with the most important information. For example, the current dialog shows the types for two files as OpenDocument Text, and OpenDocument Spreadsheet and then truncates the labels at the right, so that both show only OpenDocument T and OpenDocument S. The truncated information looks nearly the same for both files and is difficult--if not impossible--for the user to understand. If the labels were instead something like Text Document (ODF) and Spreadsheet (ODF), then a truncated type label would still leave the most important information for the user. This label style is already used in the dialog for images: Graphics (jpg) The information in the size and date columns could also be displayed more efficiently, making more room available for the file names. I would be happy to propose some improved file type labels if someone can point me to the current list--I can't find where the file type labels come from in the OOo source. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I don't know why I keep forgetting to include this... I'm on Fedora Linux 13, using the nouveau hardware driver. I can attach an Xlog file, if you need more detail. The log does mention the RENDER extension: $ grep -i render /var/log/Xorg.0.log [28.918] (II) Composite (RENDER acceleration) [28.921] (II) Initializing built-in extension RENDER I use the default compression level (6) for the PNG export. I get the same result if I export as BMP or TIFF. I've seen a similar problem before with PDF export: a large area is painted as several sub-areas and the pixels where they touch are lighter than the rest because of the aa. But what seems odd is that I don't see any problem on screen, in the editing view, or in exported PDF--only in the exported images.
