Hi there,
I've got an Envy24HT based M-Audio Revolution 7.1 and have a issue with
Alsa 1.0.4.
When I set my 'DAC' and 'DAC1' channels to sane values (they correspond
to L+R audio) and save my mixer settings via 'alsactl store', reboot and
restore the settings via 'alsactl restore', my mixer se

technically, you don't need to run the script, with one really huge catch. you need a
working devfsd. with the recent devfsd update, that's not really a possibility,
therefore you need the script.
if you're seriously going to use alsa, it's worth updating the 2.5 kernel's alsa with
one from CVS
Make sure you

You didn't mention if you're using devfsd or not. I'll assume that it's not
Hi Lou,
What modules do you have loaded?
What kernel version are you using?
Are you using devfsd?

It doesn't appear as that "sound/core/Kconfig" is getting included twice.
Does anyone have any tips for doing this properly?
Thanks,

Hi there,
I just tried from CVS (within the last 20 mins) on my MSI KT266A chipset
with VT8233 southbridge and have a few problems. I've compiled and
modprobe'd all the req'd modules. The VT8233 detected properly, I've setup
OSS emulation and /dev/dsp exists. I try playing an mp3 stream thru x

that's usually due to ACPI .. I've seen this all over the place, but it
generally doesn't seem to cause

Hi,
I might be wrong, but hopefully your using the Intel8x0 not the Via8233
driver. The AC97 on the Via southbridge is disabled on this board and only
the Realtek ALC650 is hooked up. Hopefully the Realtek is accessed via the
generic AC97 i8x0 driver. You didn't mention which driver you're usi
