I lodged a issue with the sf.net people, but it unlikely to be fixed
until the US comes on line in a couple

Since I have posted the following patch more than two weeks ago in the patches section
and I am unsure whether it has been noticed (at least no one fixed the problem in the
cvs yet), I am just trying to attract some attention to it ;-).

Takashi,
Please amend the previous patch. I forgot breaks in
snd_ad1848_thinkpad_twiddle. The behavior would be to always fall
through to enabling the device.

I'm just begining my first ALSA application. As a part of the GUI I need to
prompt the user to select from a list the soundcard and input device for both
recording and playback. How would you suggest doing this? Examples welcome.

Laurent Georget reported a problem with alsa "level" and "ameter"
plugins earlier, I'm not sure this problem is related since it doesn't
seem to involve pcm_wait.. but Im still relativly unfamiliar with the
inner workings of the code.
I'm using ameter 0.3 with alsa-* 0.9.3 and 0.9.4 which works

Is there any work being done to join up some of the common stuff (defines seem
