when i play sound in rear speakers,neither the PCM Volume nor
the Master volume has any affect on it eg, i could turn
PCM and Master to minimum and sound would still come out the
rear speakers ... only the 'wave surround' mixer control

When I mute the channel (which works), that register gets ORed with 0x8000.
