I've been having problems with certain software's (openal, artsd) ALSA output being transposed up ~1 tone. Today I figured out that it had to do with the dxs support, and eventually settled on dxs_support=5, which works perfectly. However, I think it's likely that the issue with transposition is

In XMMS, the second device (Which would be nice to use as the primary) runs static

VIA 8233 working fine with 0.9.0-rc7.
Install 0.9.2 - no sound at all.
Reinstall 0.9.0-rc7, all back to normal.
Anyone else? Amd I doing something wrong?
