Hi,
I'm looking for a way to force a backup to degraded mode, to holding disk
with 2.4.3b3. Reading the docs I didn't find anything obvious yet.
Here's what I'm trying to do: I have a 14 slots DLT changer. With a
runspercycle of 7, I have plenty of space left on tapes, so I'd like
to put 2 days
Hello group,
This is my first go around with AMANDA and I needed a little guidance in
getting things running smoothly. I am using a QUANTUM 4700 (20G/40G) 7 slot
stacker under SuSE Linux 7.3. I have been fooling around with the AMANDA
conf file, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience
This is not really an amanda question but is an excellent place to
get input.
I have around £2000 to spend on a changer/library does any one
have any suggestions, ideally I would like to be able to back up
400GB but I realise this is maybe not possible for 2K so backup

Hi All,
I have looked through the Amanda docs and the FAQ to see if a particular
autoloader is supported, but I can't find it listed. Does not listed ==
not supported? The unit is the HP Surestore 1/8 DLT vs80.
TIA,
Kenny

Hello,
How exactly, do I setup a client? I've setup AMANDA on my tape
server (I think, at least I've got amcheck liking my setup) but what
this exercise is all about is backing up a classroom environment. So,
how do I setup a client?

I seem to recall some messages regarding the format of amreport output but
have been unable to locate that information. Could someone point me to the
proper location?

If you have 'amcheck CONFIG' working, then you probably have set up the
server as a client. Now you just need to duplicate those steps on other
clients. Read the INSTALL file that comes with Amanda. If you have
problems, let us know what OS you're running and what errors Amanda
reports back
I've setup my tapetype to include lbl-templ 8x11.ps. It generates a nice
looking output to the default printer. The only problem I have is that it
prints only one page for 90 filesystems. So about line 63, I get 1/2 of a
line (the top half) and the rest of the filesystems disappear. Anyone

One of my file systems is slightly over the 24G limit and has not been

that when I went to the changer and have 2 tapes per run set that it
would continue on to the next tape. Now

I am trying to get amanda working for the first time, but am running into same problem
over and over. The particulars are: O/S is Slackware 8.0, amanda version is 2.4.3b3.
Amcheck runs fine, but when I do an amdump, the following is what I end up with:
