I see low write performance to (modern) USB disks attached via USB 3.0
This leads to lng backup windows and even DLEs somehow not written
because things get stuck (?) somehow.
Until yesterday the disks were attached to USB 2.0 ports, I expected to
solve this by adding a PCIe card with

to my server.
Then i run amanda backup weekly to backup the latest pushed backup to tape
(ignoring rdiff-backups history).

I know this is not about Amanda, butt this is about backup.
I am trying to find a suitable solution for Windows/Mac/Linux
desktops. Amanda has a major flaw: it is working on a pull schedule, the
client must be available when the server is starting the backup.
