:/data/Daily/backup/Daily03
which is the real file backup tape.
If I rewind it manually it still tries to do it and amrecover fail.

Why the configure script didn't found the `initgroups' declaration?
Look at configure.log file.

'labelstr' to accept both label.
Merge the tapelist files.
Copy the LOGDIR/log.datestamp.x to the new config (or symlink)
(You can change the last number)

amlabel: no label found, are you sure rait:{file:/backup} is non-rewinding?

Dick,
I did all my test with a file: and a tape: drivers, and it works, but you
are right, it doesn't work with 2 file:.
Could you try this patch.
apply it with 'patch -p0 rait-with-file.diff'

to use a pre-RAIT working release and upgrade later. If it
matters, my goal for using RAIT would be to keep the most recent
dumpcycle on disk while also generating tapes for off-site
storage.

appears to be a modified chg-zd-mtx script.
I know it may be a shot in the dark, but perhaps worth looking into?
