I had to add some extra stuff in the spec file
No, Youness !
It won't be doable for RC1 because autopackage needs some mods in the compiled
code to be portable...
As RC1 is already tagged we need to tag another version with these mods...
In addition, what about Tcl/Tk ? Currently there is the check...
But what will happen if some user won't

Ah ok, I didn't know we need mods for the code (for those who don't know, it's
only so that AP can buiilt a

gcc the user had, etc...)
ok then, we'll do the experiment for RC2, in the meantime, we can still set up

I agree with the autopackage, and put a note up that for major
distributions you can just use their package manager to install/update.
What distro's have amsn in their default configuration (which means
installable without enabling extra stuff, but not necessarily installed
by default)?

Hello,
I think I have finally found a solution for the svn_date problem, here's what I
suggest
We should have a svn_date file (or dev_version maybe) with the content :
DATE
REVISION NUMBER
This file will have to be automatically regenerated by US everytime we want to
do a commit.. so that
Hum,
discussed a lot on #svn
And they pointed a big trouble
svn_date can't reliably determine the version since each file can be at its
own release so I can have a file from one date and another from another
date
So baaad for us... We should advise to use the svn command
And make users
Hey, that is not 100% true... if we always check the revision of the base
directory (e.g. amsn/trunk/amsn) then there is no trouble, because it will
change at every commit to a file in there or in any sub-folder.

Hum,
No what I mean is if a user plays and do a half update of its working copy the
svn_date won't be reliable..

Nope I asked that first on #svn but no it isn't possible...
And what about branches? I think the script should check only for branches
that

No it can't, to do that, you'll need to meddle with the transaction, and you
should NEVER modify the
transaction in a script,

I hope you still got the discussion log on #svn...
about what you said, it's true, but then it's completly stupid and noone
does a 'svn update -r 10 gui.tcl', a user will have all his files at the
same revision...
