*The vendor shall provide Consultants who are familiar with the following*:

· Hardware set-up and debug.

· Usage of hardware test instruments (DMM, Oscilloscope, Thermal
Probe...etc)

· Generate detail status presentations and updates.

· Hardware reworks

· Usage of CAD and Schematic tools.

[android-developers] Browser Plugin for Android

Hello All,

My goal is to run a custom plugin on the android web browser. I have
found a hello world plugin, and successfully compiled with webkit.
now i have the plugin as a .so file.

what should be the next steps :-
1. where do i copy this plugin so that browser can load it?
2. How do i check if its loaded. in Firefox we can do about:plugins
to list plugins. anything similar available in android browser?

[android-developers] WebKit and JavaScript. PLEASE HELP.

Hello All,
My application is integrated with the JavaScriptCore of webkit. It was
compiled/linked and working properly for sometime

Today i have updated the source base and saw that there were a lot of
changes in JavaScriptCore. In earlier version it was generating a libkjs.a
to which i was linking my application. But now it is not generating libkjs.a
and generating only libwecore.so combining all object files in webkit
directory. So, i tried to link my app with libwebkit.so but got hundreds of
linking errors. After a lot of trial i modifed the webkit/Android.mk to
generate libwebcore.a instead of libwecore.so. When i link my app with
libwebcore.a it successfully builds the binary but the size of the binary is
3MB!! as opposed to the 300K size i was getting with the previous libkjs.a

Looks like the new JavaScriptCore is now tightly coupled with webcore and
bloating the size of my binary.

1. IS there anyway i can compile JavaScriptCore seperately and link with my
APP??
2. Why am i  getting linking errors when i link with libwebcore.so?

[android-developers] nested scopes

Hi all,

I am developing a wrapper API on top of JavaScriptCore for integration with
my application.

Here is an overview of my API.

In my application scripts are executed and variables are defined in
different scopes. This example shows the functionality needed.

js_init(); - initialize
js_set_var(abc,2); - set abc=2 in global scope
js_push_scope(); - create a new scope
js_set_var(abc,4); - set abc=4 in new scope
js_print_var(abc); - should print 4 as we are in new scope
js_pop_scope(); - pop most recent scope. i,e. the new scope
js_print_var(abc); - Now it should print 2 because we are back to global
scope.

My question is what should i be doing in js_push_scope and js_pop_scope so
that a new JavaScript scope is created and destroyed.

I have seen that there is a ScopeChain.cpp/h .. but its not very clear as to
how to use them.

TextView.setBackGroundColor() , setTextColor() .. I see in some examples
using

R.color.solid_red

I am using Eclipse... and when I type R.(dot) i didnt see color option in
suggestion box.. Do I need to import any class for this.

Could there be a case where onPostExecute() is never called because 
doInBackground() is stuck in some synchronous API called within ?

I've a use case where am using AsyncTask like below (code for illustration 
only) :

BackgroundCommunicatorTask mBackgroundTaskOne = new 
BackgroundCommunicatorTask(PERFORM_API_1);
mBackgroundTask.executeOnExecutor(AsyncTask.SERIAL_EXECUTOR);

BackgroundCommunicatorTask mBackgroundTaskTwo = new 
BackgroundCommunicatorTask(PERFORM_API_2);
mBackgroundTask.executeOnExecutor(AsyncTask.SERIAL_EXECUTOR);

Is my understanding correct that when we explicitly use SERIAL_EXECUTOR, 
until one thread in the queue
is finished, the next thread won't be executed ? Which means if 
doInBackground() of the thread associated with PERFORM_API_1
is stuck for unknown reasons, then the next thread in the queue (associated 
with PERFORM_API_2) won't be scheduled right ?

I've verified that the first thread is stuck, through
if (mBackgroundTaskOne .getStatus() == AsyncTask.Status.RUNNING) {
// control is reaching here.
}

I'm clear that for my use case I should be using SERIAL_EXECUTOR only. But 
sorry if my understanding of SERIAL_EXECUTOR itself is wrong..
Could you throw some light on how to handle such cases like above ? Use a 
timeout to kill the thread forcefully ? I tried, but cancel() on the 
AsyncTask is
not honoring my call.

I have a question. Can you please help me out.

There s some data pulling from Database. I have made a structure and stored

I am trying to design a options menu. I tried it, working fine. But the
problem , It is showing same options for all pages.
My requriement is

In Home Page ( I need only EDIT, DELETE,ATTACH options)
Second Page ( I need only BACK , HOME , EXIT  options).

Like I want some of the options for some pages. Please suggest me.

Thanks for your post. Its worked fine. But I have a small Q in addition
with this.
Because I have one user defined layout , so I used data_item_list XML file.
In that I want to show a CheckBox for each List item and a ADD DATA
button after the end of the List.

[android-developers] Need Intent Help

Hey guys,

I have a problem while using intents. Can you please suggest me the right
way.

I have an Activity1 which contains some methods ( addData(),deleteData() ).
when I use intent to other Activity2 Class..
I am not able to access the methods which are in Activity1. I cant copy
paste all the methods in all Activities. I dont think its good practise.
Can anybody suggest me.

When I install the APK in my mobile (Froyo 2.2) , application is not
working. But its working fine in AVD with 2.3.3 version. I want to make my
APK in such a way that it should work in all devices.

I hope I am confusing you guys.

I created the app using 2.3.3 . When I install this APK , in Samsung galaxy
S2(2.3.3) the application is working good. But the same application is not
working in HTC (2.2).
Parsing error. I WANT MY APPLICATION TO BE RUN ON ALL DEVICES WHETHER IT
MAY BE 2.1 , 2.2 or 2.3.

I created a List view . Items for this list I am fetching from Database and
put it in an arryalist.  My XML is

I am just trying to get the Item which is selected by the user. For this I
added clickbility for TextView and onClick calling a function
showPopUp .

String selectedData = selectedView.getText().toString();
System.out.println(=+selectedData);
}

On click any item , the sysout is showing first item value. Can anybody
help me.

I want to do  when click on a item.. based on that item.. i will fetch
the record (row) from the table and show in a alert dialogue builder.

Hey All ,

Can anybody please send me any references/tutorials , how to atttach a file
and save on SD card.
Here is my requriement ..

I have a form in which have the following fields..
1) Event  2) Description 3) Button to save a voice(audio) 4) Button to
attach file/ image (It may be from SD card or capture on the fly).
I want to save this as one record in SQlite . I can able to store the first
three fields..

Need some references /tutorials for file attachment..

 Yeah, attachment is a bad word. Google SQLite save image or something
 and you should get some good hits. I can't believe this has not already
 been covered exhaustively.

[android-developers] Memory

Hey All,

Suddenly my eclipse is getting struck and not responding when the emulator
is opened. And its showing too much system memory using for eclipse (202MB)
and emulator (204MB) when I see it in task manager ,processes .

[android-developers] Need Help -Custom Image

hey All ,

I have a form .. in that.. I used the submit button as a IMAGE ( SAVE DATA)
. I have two different colored images for this. My intention is to change
the Image after the user click/touch the button. appreciate any suggestions.

I just want to change the image when the user click/touch on it .So that
user feel like the button was clicked really. I want to show variation in
the image before click/touching and after.

I have generated my google API key and tried to run the app, but i see some
exceptions..

ERROR :

Theres nothing in the Activity.. I am just adding main to the activity
layout.

My doubt is where is this MapView Class..
