Steve, The question is deceptive. What I suggest is that as long as you are exposed to an apple that is mediocre you will ask your question. I am sorry that you have been exposed to apples without quality. In today's market most $.99 apples are of lower grade and reflect so with taste.

I bet less than 15% of households have heard of Honeycrisp. When I go to the store, I make it a point to ask customers in the produce section about Honeycrisp. Most have never heard of it. If those who have, about 50% say it is a very good apple or it is their favorite apple. One man told me that

We have about 700 Honeycrisp/G16 rootstock and 1300 Honeycrisp/B9. Breakage at the union has not been a problem with either. However, some trees on G16 succumbed to latent virus because the scion wood was not virus-free and G16 is very susceptible to this virus. If the Honeycrisp scion wood is
