I'm getting an error that my installation folder only has 0 MB of free Disk

people suggested updating the TEMP environment which I have done, but to no
avail. Is there anything else I need to check? I'm an
Lisa,
On the server where you are installing, set the Folder View to Show hidden
files, folders and drives
Open
C:\Users\YOUR PROFILE NAME\Application Data\Local\Temp
Clear the Temp folder.
Unzip the zipped install file again and run the install.
Thank you,
Sandra

Thanks Sandra,
I did this and have plenty of space on my C drive (over 4GB) and on my D drive
(where I'm installing to - which is about 30GB of space). It's so weird. My
other server is pretty much identical to this one and it's upgrading just fine.
At the Install/Upgrade selection panel it
Could it be your Database? The drive your DB is located on?

I get the 0 MB thing almost every time I have a new server with the TEMP

Hi Lisa,
I know I have seen this in the past and I think I resolved it by running the
install as an administrator. I had to right click on the install file and
choose run as administrator. I'm pretty sure that's what fixed it for me but
it's been a while so I could be wrong. HTH

I did a run as administrator and still got the same error. I'm wondering if I
need to reboot the server?

Just to confirm, did you extract the install files before running the installer?
I have seen this when you open the downloaded zipped file directly by double
clicking and running the installer?
Try this,
Right click downloaded zip file and extract using winzip or any other third
party utility
Hi Scott!
That's exactly what I did. (I researched the ARSList and BMC Communities and
found this as well). I still get this 0MB error.

Hi Anish!
I did not run the installer from the zip file. I open up the zip file and take
the disk1 folder and move it under the D: drive and then double click on the
setup file.
Maybe I just need to uninstall 7.6.04 sp4 and just install a fresh 8.1 sp2.

Is your server a virtual server? If so, I have run into troubles installing if
I run it through a Remote Desktop Connection. I have had to use the VM client
to connect into the server. Just a thought in case it helps.

Hmmm, that's all correct, VM and using Remote Desktop connection. I'll see if
I can get a VM client to use.

Lisa,
Change you Environment Variable TEMP (%TEMP%) to C:\TEMP
It doesn't like it if there are spaces in the path

What is the difference between obsolete and offline in ITSM 8.1?
I need to allow the tickets assigned to the group to be completed without
allowing any more tickets to be assigned to the group.
Any suggestions?
Thanks everyone that is still stuck working this week. :-)

This may or may not be helpful in your situation.
When we experienced this issue we were running a Windows 2012 server and it had
to do with admin permissions and I had to right-click on the cmd installer
batch file and choose run as admin and then the problem went away.

That's under User Variables correct? I tried D:\TEMP, I'll try C:\TEMP, but I
think I'll probably get the same error.

Brian,
I'm pretty sure that this has not changed in 8.1, but in 7.6, the Config guide
says:
Obsolete - Record is no longer used but it is kept in the system for reference.
The record should not be deleted. It is no longer available for selection.
Offline - Record has been taken out of Enabled
Personally I would do the install like this ...
Shift Right-Click on the Disk1 folder you extracted to the D drive and choose
Open command Window here
In the command prompt do:
SET TEMP=D:\TEMP
SET TMP=D:\TEMP
setup.cmd
This will set the environment to the temp folder
I updated from D:\TEMP to C:\TEMP and I get the same error (pulling my hair out
now.)

Leonard,
Thanks for the definition. I am looking more from a functional level. I
am hoping someone knows a trick to allowing a support group to finish up
the open tickets they have but not allow any more tickets to be assigned to
the support group.

First check to make sure the temp variable is set.
Go to Start Run %TEMP%
This should open an explorer window at C:\Temp
If it does, check the folder permissions
You may need to also set the %TMP% variable

Hi Lisa,
It sounds to me like someone has set file system quotas on your server.
