Well, when I upgraded our cmdb atrium from 8.0 to 8.1, I have to delete the overlays using the Dev Studio for BMC:CORE and they were restored back to UnModified or Original objects (OOTB). But I have to make sure I have a the db backup, backup of the cmdb and the forms using dev studio in case I have to rollback. So after the overlays were deleted , I was able to patch or upgrade the ATrium to 8.1.1, without any errors.
