The cheapest product I have found that has the most options is CRD from Christiansteven software. We also use CRD. It is a wonderful product. Thanks for the tip. I'll try the demo tomorrow. Alan ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or

Suggestions for daily auto Crystal Report export email?

I'm looking for some freeware that can export _standalone .rpt files_ created with Crystal Reports 9.x (we DON'T have any Crystal Enterprise etc. backend infrastructure nor any web server) daily with changing date parameters and email them to a short list of recipients. At the moment I have to

Crystal Reports Exporter is a free command line utility that can easily be setup to run from a batch file. Here is the URL: http://www.rainforestnet.com/crexport-download.htm It is simple open source .NET app. I have not used it on 64-bit before but I suspect it won't be a problem. I tried

Best practice for Oracle ARCHIVELOG versus NOARCHIVELOG?

1) Is there a best practice for Oracle ARCHIVELOG versus NOARCHIVELOG? BMC wasn't much help on this issue. 2) Do Oracle shops that run with NOARCHIVELOG down their arserver during nightly backups, or bounce it when the backups are done? It turns out the site I'm working at has been in

Am I not understanding auditing?

2009-12-03 Thread R. Alan Monroe
I was experimenting with the built-in auditing for the first time on a test server, in log mode. Unless I'm missing something really obvious, it seems to just record the same thing in both the regular record and the log. For example, if I change a serial number from 123 to 123a, I see 123a

No, you're not missing anything. I completely agree with you; it's a bit lacking in its current implementation. I think it would be much more useful if auditing included both the old and the new value. However the auditing as it is currently designed only records the new value. You would have

6.0-7.1 upgrade many columns missing from T509 (User)?

2009-11-12 Thread R. Alan Monroe
Has anyone else experienced this? I tried a 6.0-7.1 upgrade on a test server that _appeared_ to work, but afterwards, many columns are missing from T509 (User) (and perhaps other forms, but there's no convenient way to test exhaustively). We can open the User form in both the Admin tool and User

Does 60-71 upgrade work? Or must it be 60-63-71?

Does 60-71 upgrade work? Or must it be 60-63-71? We tried a 6.0.1 to 7.1.0 upgrade, which appeared at first glance to work (armonitor/arserverd would launch without going bonkers), but really basic things like searching on the User form fail with an Oracle missing column error. Looking at the
