Re: Issues while installing Remedy 9 on RHEL 7 and Oracle 11g

2015-08-05 Thread vivek garg
Hi,

Finally after our Network team open all ports, we can connect to Remedy 9
but only through guest user

Not even a single user got created in User form and every user is getting
connected as only a guest user

What could be wrong here ?

We have set admin user while silent install but that user is not having
admin privileges.

Tried to run arcache utility for creating a new admin user but getting
error :

could not load libraries

Thanks,

Vivek

 Hi,

I got the installer running and AR server got installed but in install
logs says feature AR server install failed.

However, I was able to restart the ARSystem service and there logs says AR
 server started.

But When I tried to connect through User tool , I am getting below error :

ARERR[90] Cannot establish a netowrk connection to AR server :
RPC:Miscellaneous tli error: System error(Socket error)

Arerror.log says only thing about error : cannot run program aiexfer

I have added host file entry also as : IP shortname fqdn

Shall we rerun the installer on top of it (it was a silent installer) ?

Please let me know how to get it working through user tool.

I have seen this as well … It appears the installer doesn’t use the hosts

Also is it mandatory to give server name alias name ?

We just have 1 server and no server group.

Getting errors like invalid server name, correctly entered values in host
file in format IP shortname fqdn

Please let me know if Anyone faced such issue ?

Hi Laurent,

It would be difficult to share log files on public group as we are working
for a very critical client.
The only errors I can see in logs (install logs and arerrorlogs) is related
to connection timeout or connection refused.

Please suggest if it is advisable to rerun the silent installer on top of
it what we have right now ?

Thanks,
Vivek

Select all behavior in the character field text editor with Show URL=True

2015-08-05 Thread Paul Campbell

When I have a character field that has the Show URL property set to true and an
I click the Expand box to open the Text Editor field and want to copy all the
text displayed, and I either Right Click and do Select All, or type Control-A,
not only the text in the editor window gets highlighted, but all the text on
when whole web page gets highlighted. I know that the Show URL property
changes how the text is handled, but it seems like select all should still
work. Has anyone else seen this issue, it is happening on both 7.6.04 and 8.1
Mid Tiers, in Firefox, Chrome, and IE browsers?

I'm not sure I completely understand the steps to reproduce your finding.
Could you give me a step by step rundown/commentary of what you did to
reproduce this?

1, On a form, add a character field, set the Field Access to Read Only, Show
URL to True, set a default value of some text and a URL and save,
2. Open that form in a search window, do Set to Defaults
3. Press the Expand button beside the Character field
4. Right Click in the Editor box and do Select All
5. Notice what all is selected
6. Copy what is selected and paste it into an email, word, etc and see what
all gets pasted, for me I get the text in the edit box, the title of the
editor, and sometimes values from other fields on the form and if I paste it
into word, I get text boxes, image boxes, etc..

Here is a screenshot of what I mean (assuming it comes through)
