When you want to assign a menu dynamically through workflow, you still need to
initialize the character field. Type $NULL$ into the field that lets you
associate a menu with it. No menu will be attached initially, but it will let
you add a menu through workflow.
Let me know if
can replace that with a query sting property which allows you to
enter plain text that is much simpler to read and edit than the array type
construction that it records it in.
Let me know if you need any additional help. Feel free to email me directly at

Listers,
Has anyone successfully used the $PROCESS$ Set Fields action with the
output of a Visual Basic 2005 executable file? I get the dreaded ARERR
1603 error. I could use a code snippet to see how the exit status code
and return value need to be coded.
I could also use a quick sample
:
@echo off
This suppresses all of the prompt info you'd normally see.

Has anyone tried to capture the contents of a View Field in Remedy?
Ideally I would like to capture the HTML text/source without having to
resort to an external process. Setting a character field to the view
field only captures the URL.

Listers,
Does anyone have a suggestion for writing the contents of a field to a
file without creating a macro that uses the reporting interface?

Norm,
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it, but I ran into a slight problem.
Only one line in the character field was written to file. Everything
using the $PROCESS$ action of a set field to dump the value?

Hi All,
I'm trying to create a filter with a Set Fields action that reads its
value from a Web Service. To do this I need to choose and Load a WSDL
as shown in an example in the Remedy help within the Admin tool. When I
try this I get the following error:

Andrew,
You'll need the email engine installed unless you want to call an
external process like sendmail in Unix with the necessary parameters.
I'd opt for installing the email engine...
