There is a good chance that running out of memory is the reason for the
behavior you are seeing, especially since your server is limited in terms of
memory, and since you report that Artifactory was added on top of already
deployed webapps.
Can you check the effective JVM heap that is
TaskManager Reports: The Memory Usage at ~300MB's With a peak of ~360MB's and
around 600MB's in Virtual Memory. I tried to add the JVM arguements from

'rep.home' is a special system property that is assigned by the repository
itself upon creation, so it's currently not possible to set it externally
(it's part of the Jackrabbit code).
The 'data' folder is always created relative to the $ARTIFACTORY_HOME folder
and some logic in Artifactory
