a /var/run/astmanproxy.pid file when run.
I can't find any such astmanproxy.pid (not in /var/run directory, nor
anywhere else).
Is it normal ?

Utterly untested, but here goes with the server-filtering parameter...
The attached patch should apply to version the 1.21 tarball cleanly,
and includes all my other changes which haven't made it into the main
astmanproxy code.
Please do feed-back on whether this works (it compiles :-) ).

Astmanproxy is just a proxy. It it just taking the load off asterisk
for multiplexing multiple Asterisk manager connections, but it does
not change the protocol (except to add a couple of features) unless
you select one of the non standard plugins.
