I do not know why apple removed that feature, but not transmitting your SSID will not really make your network all that much more secure if at all. If I was wanting to connect to your network, I would most likely sit near by and watch to see what networks your devices

The sad thing about the clean installs, you need ITunes for that. I took pretty much all of my music off of my phone in hopes that a known fix comes out before I have to wipe and start from new.

@NibarHave you tried turning off the new raise to awaken option?I'm not sure where the option is in the settings app, but it's the option that allows the iPhone to awaken when it is picked up.
