Hello,I understand everyone's keeping this forum up and running in their own spare time. I understand you guys have jobs, families to feed and parties to attend. But if you're doing something, do it well. People are writing entries for the database, provide feedback how to make the stuff better and overall are helpful. Some of them are turned down and some of them are just ignored (me included). The title of the thread is provocative for a reason. Administrators are drawn to these like a moth to the flame (Apocalyptica, anyone)? I don't expect you to do everything as people say, add every game that they post or anything like that. Myself I would prefer if someone said: "Fuck you and your 1942" than just ignored me, really.

Hi.As he explains in the video, the game is not accessible to blind people.Even if we have the patience to use the mouse, the flag does not talk, and we have to drag things together, which there doesn't seem to be keyboard shortcuts to do.The TTS is amazing, but the game is not playable by totally blind people, unless someone find alternatives to do those things.

Hi, that's Google chrome and NVDA acting up. It's not necessarily trimps, but yeah for some reason trimps makes it worse. I think it has to do with the dynamic nature of the page, because trimps updates its interface elements many times per second, so NVDA gets confused sometimes.

Sure that's possible. Create a role in user settings named members or something like that. Make sure you look at the perms. Now deny the @everyone permition to write messages. Now when someone comes in the server they cant send any messages.

I have changed the reload times because 600 seconds can get the thing to reload the folder every 10 minutes but it will repeat many things over and over, so its better to put something like 24 hours, or 86400 seconds.I will change this code soon because I want a jingle or some sound to play just before I go live and also when I finish the live stream, and want to also do it without restarting the liquidsoap server, and will share my progress, but feel free to use the one I have in post 6. It assumes you have songs in the directory home/YourUser/musicif you need to change that then change the line like this:music1 = playlist.safe(reload=86400,"path/to/songs/folder")and that's it.playlist.safe is a command that tells liquidsoap that the files will be there no matter what, and  music1 is sort of a variable we assign to the first pseudo playlist because we will need to use it later to tell liquidsoap that it will be going to an icecast output. Hope that last bit made sense!

@ethin, i meant to ask you how do you run the developer command prompt with a text editor? I read the documentation on how to start developer command prompt which was helpful, but i’m not sure where to go from there. You mentioned you don’t use the ide itself so can i write and run programs while using the visual studio command prompt? i want to work on learning c# i find being a beginner makes using the ide more of a challenge than it should be to get small programs up and running.

Fair use applies to stuff like listening and personal enjoyment. By trying to make a gaming experience and making it cooperative and competitive, Pragma pretty well blew any chance of a lawyer being able to permit CP on fair-use grounds to pieces. It's clearly not just for Pragma's personal enjoyment or for the sake of wanting to occasionally listen to music tracks. There's social benefits in creating a game, and copyright law feasts on this sort of thing.

This just happened today. For those who know what GWBasic is and want to get it running on any modern platform in five minutes…your dreams are about to be thrown in the back of a garbage truck and compacted. Fair use is what I think of with things like this, but you know that lawyers are going to do everything in their power to argue against that. It's what their payed to do. Plus, I'm really not sure fair use would even apply to something like Crazy Party since it's a blatant attempt to copy something.

Unfortunately, a lot of speech synth addons have not been updated to support NVDA 2019.3 and later. As such, Dectalk cannot be used with NVDA unless you want to downgrade to 2019.2.1 or earlier. I know, it sucks, but what can we do really?

So, I tried downloading singing dectalk from grossgang? but when I tried to install it, Add-on not compatible  Installation of DECtalk access32 4.41 and 4.601.0 has been blocked. According to the readme, Sediment is the person behind the scoreboards feature.Also, a heads up that there is a new version of the game with some interesting features, except for one.Apparently there will be stone columns at around level 10, and this is what the warp item will be used for.However, there is one obstacle that has been added which, seriously, does not make any sense, or doesn't seem to have been tested.It's a hand. So you'd be walking along and you'd suddenly hear a fwack. This means you've been knocked back a few tiles. Now that's fine, except I can't progress past level 1 because the danged thing hits me as I cross the pit, taking me back and sometimes, making me fall in. Worse yet, it's a random occurrence, and it's happened to me more often than not. The bluesky text file claims that this item was added as a sort of joke. It's not funny if it happens three times in a row, and all you hear is, quite literally, a whack sound, without warning.

I am very curious what happens if the copyright violator is dead. Namely, of course, Jim Kitchen's games. I suppose they could come back on the forum for linking to it, so I understand taking that step, but still. Yeah. Copyright law is very unfair and draconian the best you could hope for is a fair use argument, but even that has grey area. At the end of the day, you might be able to argue that Crazy Party falls under that scope, and the scales weigh into its favor due to being free and transformative to a degree. Ah well. What can you do?

Hey all,So youtube channel "Illegally Sighted" just uploaded a video walkthrough of the new text to speech support in the 20th anniversary  relaunch of this famous medieval strategy game for Global Accessibility Awareness Day, and I have to tell you, it seems legit.It's not just menus and diologues that are spoken, it's the information needed to play the actual game as well.The main catch is that you still need to point and click with a mouse and many things aren't laid out in a simple left to right or top to bottom format, but still, everything under the cursor seems to be spoken as you move over it and with some memorization and patients wile exploring the screen I'm confident that it's quite doable.Here's the video.  It's a long one, but he explains some important things so it's worth watching.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHqQT7sNnxwI wish I could give you guys more information, but I'm too busy with school and Voc Rehab right now to get into this my self.  I wanted to make sure it was brought to everyone's attention though, because it sounds pretty damn playable to me, and with tons of missions and multiplayer support, it definitely seems worth giving it a try.

Right. Well, regardless of our individual feelings about this, we need to do what's right according to copyright law if we want to avoid the forum getting into any legal trouble with 100% certainty. We can sit, stand, lie, cartwheel, levitate, jog, or whatever here depending on our preferences when accessing the forum and debate all we want, but we're getting nowhere fast. This is what I suggest, and it's likely going to anger quite a few people. Some of these things have already been suggested at one time or another.1. Remove Crazy Party from the database until we can be sure it has no pirated sounds, and forbid anyone to link to it as per rule 3. No beating around the bush, no debates, just remove it and be done. End of discussion. People can still play it, and that should be good enough.2. Refuse to add games to the database if they're found to have pirated sounds from well-known games, movies, TV shows, etc. We obviously can't do anything if they're stock sounds anyone can buy or download for free, but we can forbid games with obviously pirated sounds.3. Refuse to add games to the database if they're based on an existing copyrighted work without a license. This means no Star Wars, Star Trek, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.4. Remove any and all existing games from the database that violate the last two on a case by case basis. This means no one would have to comb through the database unless they really want to, but some effort should be made. Yes, this also means Jim kitchen's games, GMA's Star Trek game, Clash of Lightsabers, etc. This is all or nothing here.5. Do this as soon as possible so we can get back to discussing audiogames instead of going round and round in circular debates about copyright that make me want to slam my head into a wall. I mean... unless people like discussing that sort of thing. But for the love of all thins both holy and unholy, we need to take an official stance as a community and stay there.Are some of these suggestions a bit draconian? Well, sure, but so is copyright law in a lot of instances. That's just the way it is right now.

Thanks for the help.I was extremely disappointed to see Pragma's answer, because instead of wanting his game to be...well, his game, he just wants to make a sound clone and profit socially from it. As I said in a previous post, extremely slimy. But if this were all it was, and it was somehow legal, I'd have made that point and then been done. After all, I'm not here to make people quit playing if they enjoy it and don't have a problem with what Pragma's doing. I'm acting in defense of the forum, however, so that's why I vocally stand where I do.

@Jayde, well thought and admirably delivered answer in 115.  for the record I just want to point out I wasn't trying to instigate but more leaning toward the whole trying to do what I used to do from a moderation standpoint back when I was on the panel.  I thought it would give the kids on the playground a chance to seriously see your stance for what it was and not what they think it is.  On the whole I think you hit home when you said it's a matter of social reputation now as opposed to actually trying to be artistically creative, particularly since it has been shown that a fair amount of the community would willingly step up to volunteer to the project, no small feat and no fun one either given the scope of the undertaking.

... soo.In my case, I'm using visual studio from 2008 version, passing through 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. For my use it is perfect. I can use the editor without problems, can check errors without lagging, move on to the output, solution explorer, multiple editors open at once without drama, manage nuGet packages, and use XAML and other things.The unique inaccessible stuff are the visual editors for WPF or winforms, but; aren't a problem for me.I use it to work with c#, python, _javascript_, typescript  and  a little. really a little. technically nothing for c++.In my case I use it with JAWS. Apparently the problem isn't from vs; is of NVDA that lags with the program. Really guys you talk about vs... I don't know; like the entire app is inaccessible or that you can't do nothing with it. That, is a lie.In my case, when I need a view of an entire architecture of a project, I go for vs; because is very easy view all files with the solution explorer and that.  When I need only change a few lines of a single or two files, I choose vsCode because is faster to open an individual file, modify it and next compile the project or something similar.But well. really every person choose the tool that he needs.For the things that I do, vsevery time is a very good tool that works for me perfectly.bye.

Quick question for those, BTW.I tried the Sennheiser HD598 way back in the day. I absolutely loved their fit. They were open-back, admittedly, but extremely comfortable and pretty flat. I ultimately didn't stay with them because I like something a little punchier, but are the 280-pro in the same sonic ballpark? Because for seventy-five bucks, that's an absolute steal.

This is a great game. Slightly confused about something though. I thought that you were able to put the fire wherever you wanted, but it's made in the craft shop. Is this a plan for a future version? Also looking forward to arrows and bullets running out eventually. Might you b able to add pain sounds for the animals at some point? sometimes I can't tell if I've hit them or not if I'm using the bow. Maybe I'm missing something? Keep up the great work.

I can't find anywhere Pragma saying that he has other communities besides English. That is what some of us said on this topic, but not Pragma. And that is true, whether you feel it is a slap or not. Crazy party has a stable players base thanks to largely being translatable, not thanks to being on here. for one, you just need to enter the number, not write it out. so if you want to play fantasy, just type "1" in the field and press enter. also, the kind of characters will come up once you've made a choice, like the genre, just type the appropriate number. They will then ask for your name, type what you want to be called.It's a little different for custom, but they'll explain that to you themselves in a way that should make sense.a lot of people I found try to type full words when creating a game and that doesn't work.The game also goes down for brief periods. However, they might also want you to create an account first and that might be part of it.Not being able to see what is going on for you, I'm just guessing the most likely culprits.

@104, agree completely. There are bunch of free sights that offer royalty free sounds. Freesound.org, soundbible.com, among others, and those are just the free ones, the itunes store has a ridiculous number of sound albums, most; not all; but most; are $10. So. Are there options? Yes, if one is willing to look. Granted the sounds in freesound.org and soundbible.com might not be of say, hd quality as say, sound dogs, Hollywood soun effects, etc, but they can be worked with.

Sennheiser's are great for studio monitoring from what I've heard as well...  But I can personally vouch for the Audiotechnica M40X as being a good choice and they fit your price range requirements too.They have a detachable cable (proprietary connector) and good but not amazing build quality, as they are still plastic with metal inserts.  The isolation is above average for non noise canceling cans but the microphonics are quite minimal despite that.In terms of sound I wish the stage was a bit wider personally, and I found that the (admitedly very well done) bass on the M50X could color my mix a bit, but apparently the M40's don't have that potential problem, meaning that they are probably actually better headphones for mixing at 50 bucks less.Rarely are you going to get a pair of headphones with extra earcups in the box, and it's the same for the M40X, but finding replacements isn't hard.Here is a review from a site I trust, and it explains things allot better than I could.https://www.soundguys.com/audio-technic … view-1494/

Warrior is my 4th class for who I am, but I would recommend the same thing I would for other classes. Go everywhere and do everything. There's some decent warrior equipment on Kordain on the city on the east before you go to archaise in the warrior shop I bet, but explore everywhere and do everything, you'll get crazy leveling done and find a lot of treasure too. If you have armor making and such, start mining when you are in mountains and caves and use the metal to make stuff. Same with jewelry and other things you can make, though you'll need to find the right materials do do what you want.

I just want to chime in here real quick. I am totally blind, have been all my life, and I know it's not the same. It's similar. The genre is the same. That's cool. But this is why I've never bought the "sounds are what make the game" argument. They help, but the idea that they are fundamental is just not universal enough to be used as a talking point.If I want pokemon nostalgia from my high school days, I don't play CP to hear pokemon songs. I go watch Let's Plays or other challenges, or speedruns. If I want to channel Mario, Zelda, Sonic, any of that stuff, I go to any number of places and do it that way. Crazy Party, even with my experience with watching folks play Mario Party, does not generate the nostalgia it apparently does for others.Zarvox, thanks for the info. @17if someone is in a country that is so strict with financial services that they can't get any form of electronic banking whatsoever, there's a very good chance that they also can't legally register domains whatsoever.  If someone is in a country where they can get electronic banking but it's not something compatible with domain registrars outside the country, there are probably domain registrars inside the country that take it.If someone is on a blacklist because of their country then chances are that they'll get told no when you get to the "and now give us your address" part, and if not then whatever registrar is being used is not long for this world.I've seen the "but I don't have access to electronic banking" justification used on here more than it should be to justify people asking for free things.  BY far the most common reason for that is that people here tend to be under 18, not these mostly hypothetical situations where you happen to be in some country where you can't do banking at all period.  Besides with very few exceptions you can still do cryptocurrency even from said countries, and crypto is now at the point where you can actually find i.e. VPS providers taking it.  Probably some registrars somewhere too, I'mjust not aware of one offhand for lack of having looked.If someone on here tells me they don't have a credit card to use, what I'm hearing is "I'm under 18 and my parents won't give me permission but I'm going to do it anyway".  I'm sure we have a couple of people who are legitimately in a situation where they're in a sanctioned country, but let's be honest, the primary reason for banking troubles on this site is under 18 and trying to do this without your parents.

Doublepost:I figured out what the problem was. There's no bug.The enemy had a submarine which he was just casually  touring the map with. It actually took me longer to find it than it did for me to play the entire main part of the game.Because the computer could have totally won with a submarine. totally

I'm going to say it. It's going to piss people off, but the truth is the truth. Crazy party is, and will never be like mario, sonic, pokemon, or zelda. Few reasons why. First, these games have been around for 30 years. Crazy party has been around for about for 4 years. Second, it's coded in freaking bgt. Come on. Third, audio games are no where near main stream level. Fourth, Nintendo has hundreds or thousands of workers, full time as well. Crazy party is only a few people and not full time. Those are the obvious ones. The game is good for what it is. I like it. But don't even try to compare it to main stream games. You can't compare it to any of the games that the sounds are picked from, because it is nowhere close to them, no matter how hard you try to manipulate the audio game. So the whole idea of, the sounds makes it like the original game, is crap. I will tell you now, I loved those types of games when I was a kid. The years hen I had sight, I freaking obsessed on playing mario and zelda titles. Crazy party does not give me any memories of that. None. If you have always been completely blind, obviously you aren't getting the same feelings as I am because I could see what the game was like, I could see what the difference was. You all who have always been blind have had to imagine it, and it looks and sounds the same, so you think, it must be the same! But it's not even close.

Yeah, but one of those places is much faster to check then the other, while the other is checked regularly by some but obviously not all. It's much easier to see a summary in the first post, while it also makes sense to post a new one when something happens since otherwise it's not like people will check regularly the first post for updates. Honestly it's not even taking up too much time to do in my opinion.

Ok, I'll bite.First, the developer is absolutely an interesting character. Their mood has a tendency to swing from one end of the spectrum to the other, he can come across as rude with a thin layer of professionalism to disguise it away.Then again, you don't really need to interact with the guy much. You make your purchase, your thing gets activated and stuff works from then on out.As for if you can run it with a demo version of JAWS, no, you can't, as you need to provide your serial when purchasing.If it's worth it ...honestly I think it depends. Are you new to computing? I would honestly say yes, absolutely.It's a reasonably idiot-proof way to work with a computer and do the most important tasks, think Windows for Grandpa.Is it worth it for advanced users? Hmm ...maybe. It has a number of scripts to make various applications less chatty or cumbersome, some power user tools to work with websites and documents etc. and the question has to be if you need those features, if you can get them anywhere else for a lower price or in a more suitable way etc.So ...while I enjoy a round of bashing as much as the next guy, I'll have the unpopular opinion to say that it can actually be worth the 40 or 60 bucks depending.I wish it did a few more things than it does, but still, I think it can aid productivity. How? go flipthrough the manual and find out, that bit's free anyway

The fact that two things are done instead of one, when all that's needed is one.It's all in the same thread. It's still being updated pretty regularly (sometimes we forget, but that'd apply to either one). Basically, two different places to look is just redundant, and there is no good reason to establish this habit. It is makework.
