Hi Ian. I want to ask again: are you employing an encryption method for the multimedia resources in your FPS? If you are, and assuming you haven't already committed yourself to a sound developer, I'd love to devote some of my time to your project. I ask about encryption because, frankly, my sounds are all self purchased and come with strict licensing regulations on my inclusion of them into projects. I need to make sure that we won't have the same fiasco as we did in Swamp. If you're not interested in dealing with encryption and such, of course, I'll happily bow out and just enjoy the finished product. .Also, are you planning to support multiple surfaces? I can design sounds around this model. As an example: Wooden obstacles can absorb impacts, but will quickly deteriorate, as a tradeoff, they should be the most readily available kinds of cover (furnitu
 re, fences, wooden buildings, etc). Metal and concrete obstacles absorb more, but are less frequent (parked vehicles, short brick walls, parking lot safety constructions, etc). Sandbag obstacles offer roughly as much protection as wood, but are portable, allowing people to set up their own barricades.For weapons with burst/full auto firing: Do you want individual shots for the firing sound so you can freely loop them with code, or do you want premixed shots?Do you want varying sounds for each event? I highly recommend this, as it will keep your game from sounding staid -- a gun won't always sound the same on every firing, nor would a melee weapon.Do you want the nature of the munitions to be purely percussive, or are you open to sci-fi elements such as pulse rifles, lasers, blasters, etc?Do you want some kind of tracking sound for the sniper rifles and various other long-range weapons? In sighted FPS games, sniper rifles usually have some kind of tar

A Question regarding sound affects for a project I'm working on

Hi all,I have a few questions.Does anyone have the sound of something hitting against a door? By this, I mean something like the sound used to indicate cabbin doors in Paladin of the Sky.Secondly, would it be bad of me to use the swamp menu navigation sound, Aprone?Thirdly, where can I find singular footstep sounds? Hi Kai, yes the game employs an encryption method for the multimedia resources.  You can see it for yourself in the dev version I sent you.I actually sent 3 emails to you about 20 days ago, then waited a week before posting on the forum to seek other help.I sent them to 2 different addresses I had for you, from 2 of my own addresses just in case one of my addresses hit your spam folder.Based on your past offers of help, you were certainly my first choice.After a week I figured you just weren't interested anymore.I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, did those emails not reach you?At this point I've received other offers of help and have already engaged with a sound designer.I do appreciate your offer though and will keep it in mind.You might also consider writing a mod for the game once that feature is available.Mod multimedia files will also be encrypted, though people will be able to use sounds from other

I know Street Fighter V's just around the corner, but until then, those of us who have Ultra Street Fighter IV might enjoy this mod that was just released. Ultra Street Fighter Iv Remix is a massive overhaul of USF IV, with modifications to character movesets, animations, movement speeds, etc. It also makes combos a lot simpler, with a very MVC/Skullgirls feel to them. If you struggle with SF4's native combo system, you really should try it out. As an added bonus, you can play online, assuming your opponent also has Remix, and presumably is running the same version.As a demonstration of how easy and crazy combos are in this mod, here's a recording I made of some legitimate combos.Kai

Any accessible ways to share sound files on youtube?

Hi allWell, I have a youtube channel and as you all no, we are -the blinds-, most of our works depends on audio, and youtube doesn't support sound files. Ok, they must be converted to wmv to be eccepted. And to do this, you must mix the sound file with a certain picture, with trying to make it compatible with the duration of the audio clip, disappears when it ends. And they are many programs do this, so I want the best accessible way to do this process. I've tried uMusic, but its duration is limited, in addition, it adds a fade in and fade out to the begining and the end of the clip, which forces you to insert Silence by the sound editors if you don't want them, and this is very annoying as well. So, wich way or program do you all advice me to try? Many thanks.

Hello,I've finally beaten the game. It's definitely quite well put together, the sound design and music are good. However, I haven't yet checked out infinite mode because I lost my saved game, due to me thinking infinite mode would be an option if you start a new game. This isn't the case and so I will just have to beat the game again.

I myself use goldwave loopback speakers, available when using core audio as an audio subsystem. However, i do have a major problem. It turns out much much much quieter than I want it to be, and I don't wanna switch editers because I use it for things like tts skits. Any way to fix that? My speaker volume is set to 60 max and goldwave and other things are set to 10 or 20. And by the way, I have three words.ScrewFrickinRealtek!

Problem is, I use it for more than just games. I use it for programs written in japanese that are hopelessly unable to find a already made translation, and so big that the google website will actually blank half of it out. Things such as mid2mml. I use it to translate rather big documentations and things that the google service would otherwise not allow via the webpage. You could always try bing... Or possibly systran, though as far as I know systran is payed up to like 200 bucks to get the program and two languages, and that's for a single user at home!

Hi,  I use Pure Basic for my environment, with some libraries and add-ons I've coded that make audio game development much less of a repetitive task. In addition, I've been writing a sort of RPG engine, mainly at this point for top down RPGs that include building, combat, and exploration. It's only 200 lines right now because I just recently began working on it, including structures such as building materials, objects, weapons, doors, characters, and rooms at the moment. This is not something I'll release to the public but it is meant to provide core functions for at least one rpg game I'm going to use it for. But S Quad Racing uses a lot of file-based content, and I think I've coded some odd 3 parsers for it, -- one for tracks, one for vehicles, and one for game options though this doesn't count since most games have game options built in.

Hello Again,First of all thank you for the welcome appriciate that.It has been 10months now since i became blind, at new years night.I lost one complete eye which could not be fixed anymore, and the other was put back together however is heavily damaged to the point where i only have a bit of light when the sun is shining or big lights are on.So i am waiting for my surgeon ok when they are ready for regenerative therapy.(Stemcel injection).I wont write the whole thing here since its probably boring for most people , and not really the point either .As for silkroad online i havent programmed for it since a while i suppose around 2/3 years ago was the last time.I was looking into re-programming the emulator but i would require a sighted person for sniffing packets, doing actions and so on so not really a thing to do at the moment.I disovered this website when things settled down a bit after all the surgery's.First i only read trough the website and not the forum .Which i desided do dive into just recently since i noticed the lack of mmo for blind people.Not just that but me and a small team are developing a new tablet and custom android mod which has a feel screen as we call it.Basically people can open the camera and just point the device at any point in front of them and they can feel shapes of objects in front of them so bumping into things and feeling everything would be in the past.Its a long project but in the end pretty cool.Aside from that like i said i noticed when i wanted to play games most games are not compatible for visual imperred people.And most games are based on horror or similair things like a story where you make choices along the story.Nothing really that stood out and said like ok this is awesome id love to play this.The o
 nly game i found compatible online was lords and knights and one handfull of such games.However those are pretty boring as well , not to be a downer but thats how i felt when playing them.The other thing that stood out to me on this forum instantly was,How helpful people here are and how friendly they are.They want to really get together and get things done, and have fun while doing so it seems .Which made me sign up and post my personal projects Thanks again for the welcome.Regards,Xsense

checkup.exe doesn't fix your sound problem. It only registers the files that are needed to play the game. If the files weren't registered, you wouldn't know about any sound problem. The game would simply throw up an error when you try to launch it.

anyone interested in mml?

I have come to love mml, music macro language, not to be confused with music markup language. Music macro language was originally invented by the japanese, while the europeans and americans were still using music trackers such as fami tracker not saying that's what they used at the time though. Music macro language is pretty much about a 30 to 70 split. 30 percent is very easy, namely musical notation. If you have ever used the bgt soundtrack object you will be slightly familiar with mml. However, the notes are lowercase! The other 70 percent is macros, chhanels, and compiler directives which is the hardest thing to overcome, especially macros which use frame rates. MML is primarily used and still is today to write music for various gaming platforms, by making use of tools such as mck, ppmck, and xpmck, and it can also write midi with mml2mid. There is probably more such as mabonogie, though I've never looked at it. The things I can currently make with mml are as follows
 .nsf files, nintendo entertainment system music rips.mid files, midi standard format usually using multichannel composition.lots of console formats, including but not limited to the following using xpmck..hes HuC6280 PCEngine.vgz vgm format, currently supporting capcom play system, sega game gear, and sega genesis in xpmck..sid, commodore64 executable music format..gbs, gameboy and gameboy color sound format.THis discussion is about mml n it's various formats, and you can do the following.Discuss usage, problems, etc. About mml.ask questions and get help on certain compilers, remember that mml has no hardset standard so compilers can be much different!Share mml files and the resulting compilation, such as I could give out the source and result of an nsf file.You 
 can do more probably, as long as it relates, but that was all I could think of off the top of my head.Enjoy!You can get the gep plugin for foobar2000 to play stuff like nsf and such right here

Hello,I'm not entirely sure, particularly as I accidentally started a new game before even thinking of loading my saved game after beating hades. I think I did this because it didn't show up in the menu. My suggestion here would be to perhaps add something to the effect of "to experience more content, please load your game from the main menu", during the ending moment of the game.

Bringing this thread back, because Stephen King is one of my favorite authors.I read "Pet Sematary" at age twelve, and it scared the Hell out of me!  But I was hooked.King does seem to go through phases with his writing, and I think I've figured out that the "lesser" books are written when he has trouble with drugs and alcohol.  I didn't much care for Dream Catcher, or From a Buick 8.  Tommyknockers and Desperation were kind of slow for me too.  Interestingly, I didn't like "Insomnia" when I first read it, but after experiencing eighteen years of non 24 sleep disorder, I appreciated it a lot more.But I love his world building and character development!  The Stand, 11/22/63, The Shining, Needful Things, It, and Under the Dome, are all great if you don't mind huge books.I loved his earlier books too - Carrie, Cujo, Christine, Firestarter, The Dead Zone, etc.  His writing seems 
 to reflect his age, in that in his younger days, he was more of a "BOO! scared ya" writer, and now that he's older, he goes for the more subtle pervasive-fears aspect of things.  I like his later writing for different reasons, maybe because I'm aging too.  For this era, I like "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon" and "Joyland."His short story collections tend to be very good.  I don't think I've read one collection I didn't like, but my favorites were "Night Shift", "Different Seasons", and "Skeleton Crew."  I thought he had one of the best characterizations of a blind heroine in "The Langoliers" from "Four Past Midnight." I could tell that he had made a real effort to research blindness before he created a blind character, and I appreciated that, at a time when blind people just weren't in media anywhere.Love him or hate him, the guy is beyond p
 rolific, and a master at what he does.

On this site, I read that someone wished there was a Pandora for books.  Goodreads is a social network for readers all over the world, and while it may not be exactly a Pandora, it's close.  You can shelve the books you've read, as creatively as you want, rate them from one to five stars, write book reviews, create book lists, join groups of like minded readers, connect with authors, get book recommendations, and much more.When you go on goodreads .com and create a profile, you start adding books to your shelves.  Initially, you have three shelves, read, currently reading, and to read.  The quickest way to add a large amount of books is to search for your favorite authors, or ones you've read frequently, and then just rate the books you read.  Rating a book adds it to your read shelf automatically, but you can do a lot more once you're into it.I've been on the site for five years, and I am still discovering new featur
 es that lead me to books.  My favorites are the lists that readers create, everything from general "best books ever", to specific "disabled characters in sci fi."  I also love the Goodreads group "What's that Book" where people will describe a book in as much detail as they can remember, hoping someone can tell them the title and author.  Goodreads is just a giant Alice-in-Wonderland-style rabbit hole for book lovers.I thought I'd post here, in case anyone is interested.  It's a lot of fun!

I started with _javascript_ and Java. I switched to BGT because it did most of the same things, but more convenient, and it didn't have the distribution issues of Java.I'm trying to do stuff in Python, but the past 3 years have been an abomination.(I want a working braille display, but I don't have $1000, and DSB spent all of last year dodging my attempts to get a replacement. I'm not saying it will make a difference, but I am saying that mine died at some point in 2012-2013, and how much have I done since February 2013?)

Hi Cinnamon,To install dropbox, just follow the same procedures but wait.In the setup screen where you can find nothing and Jaws may say blank, or NVDA unknown or whatever they won't to say, just stay there and don't quit the setup but press Ctrl+G. In that way, you will open the sign in screen but in the web, not mainly by dropbox. It's rather frustrated especially for starters to keep dying by stupid attacks, or ever ghost without having time to react. I have an idea for balloon, at least. ah yes, those are pretty good stories.The queen who fell to earth has two sequels.On the Wings of Dragons and Beneath Sovereign Skies.The third book hasn't been updated in quite some time. GAAAH, just when I thought everything was going to be all right...Using Viena, I've been able to get the bank numbers for the presets. But when I input them into the Track Properties, they don't show! I've moved the relevant sound fonts up and down, enabled and disabled them in case they started out as disabled or I accidentally disabled them during the first test, double-checked and retried the bank numbers, and nothing!The numbers I've gotten from these sound fonts (which I downloaded from here in case you're interested. and yes, I decompressed them first):000:00:052I've been told that the first half of these numbers signify the program and the second half the bank, which contradicts what the QWS article about Bank Selection said about MSB/LSBs, but these were people on the QWS mailing list and they've been doing this a lot longer than I

So that's a Goldwave issue, then? That's disappointing, as I've also tried recording a game playthrough with it...and let's just say it was a disaster. Luckily I have a firm grasp on Virtual Audio Cable and how it works now, so the only real issues that I have are that when I record, the volume of my voice is always very low (and I tend not to speak all that loudly to begin with), and also, although this is totally unrelated to the topic at hand, I wish there was a way to get programs into my virtual line. Let's say I'm using line 1. If the program doesn't have a dedicated option to tell it which device to switch to, you unfortunately have to put your entire computer's output over to Line 1. While this isn't the end of the world, it is kind of annoying, because there's always a thought in the back of my mind that my audio repeaters might crash, and I'll lose my audio. At least if you're just putting things onto Line 1 suc
 h as Skype and your screen reader of choice, as an example, if you've got a second screen reader installed, you just open that up and fix the first one. Or if all else fails, load Narrator and do the same.

I'm not sure if I'll get any negative feedback but if I do I'd like to thank those people as well.As for all these wonderful questions. I, at the moment; don't really know where I'm going with this. I'll answer those questions when they need to be answered. At this time, they don't need to be.As for the market, I think honestly, it would be quite big and even if my business failed after a year or two,, that's a year or two of my life where I'll be learning, living and loving life. I like that, learn, live, love. Nice, isn't it? learn, live, Love. I like it.I had this idea for a while now but have just realized that this is what I'm meant to do. How did I realize this? By meditating and asking my higher self where my life needs to go next. The amazing books conversation with god and all of the  other books that Neal Donald Walsh 
 wrote helped me too. I realized that listening to that voice in your head really really really helps. OH and one thing, for all those guys who think guys don't cry, I did. I'd highly recommend it. Trust me. I thought I was the most sarcastic person ever. Until I realized that I don't need to be that way. I realized showing emotion is completely fine. In fact; it's needed to move on and realize your higher self is always looking out for you and there is always a way to move forward.I hope this little incite into my life helps someone realized their full creating ability. We can create change, we just need to believe we can do so. Life is a relearning of what we already know but, sometimes it's hard to relearn. I know that to be true and, will always be learning and living and loving life.I hope you can learn to live and love life, just like I am doing now.

Its because pure basic creates very small exacutibles, and because the areas are built dynamicly as you traverse across them. Their is no solid level file, the only time the game needs to read from a file is when your loading a saved game. And the navigation station is at 407 0 20.

I would LOVE to have talking exercise equipment.  I trained for a half marathon, and the one place where I had difficulty was knowing which programs to use on my treadmill or bike.  I ended up labeling the buttons in Braille, but even then, I could only adjust speed and incline.  I couldn't take full advantage of all the fitness programs the equipment offered.  I would certainly be interested if you found a way to make these products accessible, and I imagine a lot of other blind athletes would be as well.  Best of luck to you.

i'll be honest i'm abit lost in this game.   i've gotten the full version but to me it seems abit incomplete.  i've been every area it seems and got really no ware.  there is even a way to sarch for dudes girlfriend but she's no ware to be found.   i go in restaurants to find no one, and amillion or so empty tables.  the game room for it to be one, only has 1 game.  and even that becomes well abit old cause nothing happens after winning.

Hi guys. It's Marcel from Germany. I would like to produce a soundmod for baribaribaseball3. And therefore i Need you guys. I Need some testers, voice actors (Although it would work without so if we will find no one it wouldn't be a problem), and finaly some Sounddesigners who will look together with me for good sounds. For testing i will just put my registered Version in the dropbox, but please do not, and i want to make that clear, not take your copy from my registered Version.
