Actually yeah Metal Gear solid 1, 2 and 3 are definitely playable. I've completed those a while ago, however time and patience is required. All of the guides on gamefaqs.com are pretty useful. Metal gear solid: playable or no?

hello all,so here's a little question for you all to think on.Recently, my boyfriend and I were contemplating playing metal gear solid.However, in order to do this, we need like a but kicking, really accurate, thorough guide to tell us how many steps to take which way so on and so forth.Now, I understand, this is a rather tall order.So, is there anyone who has in fact played a game, using an existing guide?if so, where did you find the guide, and could you possibly post a link on here?Before you suggest it, we have tried googling, and tried looking for guides and were unsuccessful in finding any good ones.So if anyone has played the game, and has the experience, we'd love some insight, as well as any guides you can throw our way.Thank you all so much, I hope you have a lovely day.

Hi.I haven't got time to read through the whole list of games you have made yet, but I'll do that this weekend, and mention what games I have tried.The games I remember are: Burnout: This game was not accessible at all, but I had fun by blowing up random things.Deadspace: I haven't tried those games, but a few members of the forum have lots of experience with those games. I'll ask them to leave some feedback.Lort of the rings: The return of the king: This game is fantastic. Not fully accessible, but a lot of the game is playable. The sounds are so great so it's possible to navigate while listening for the sounds around you. It's not possible to play through the whole game though.Lord of the rings: Tactics for psp: I don't know how many hours I have spent on this game, but it's long long time ago. This game is very much playable because you move around in a grid, and you can, because of the sounds tell how big th
 e grid is. The game is turn based, and if you have some patience, you can, because of this, figure out where your enemies are. This game would have been fully playable if speech was added to read out the skills, read the mission objective and just some audio indicating what kind of creature the cursor was over when moving through the grid.Fifa: I haven't had much luck with those games, but that's because I don't know how to play. I'm not a sport fan, not yet, so I don't know much about the European football, simply because it don't have my interest. But if it becomes accessible then I'll be interested. The reason for I mention those games here is because: A few days ago, I spoke to a friend of mine, who don't speak much english. He is a big football fan, and he have spent endless of hours learning how to play the game as a blind gamer, and he know an other blind guy who are doing the same. He says that navigating the menus are very diffi
 cult and he get sighted help to set it all up, but he says he have full control when playing the matches and he fully know what he is doing. Oh man, back when I tried fed2, I ended up just writing down the directions.Like from this planet to this planet, I have to go two north, so on and so forth. Oriol's right. I suppose you weren't using machines you could leave unattended 24/7? Even if you were, residential internet has its limits. On one hand, some isp's may flip a shit if they catch you hosting a server. Terms of service and all that. On the other hand, even without occasional isp-imposed limits, with residential internet you naturally aren't right on the front-lines of the internet, if you will. A vps, the good ones at least, guarantees you reliable, high-speed access. Even in-home bandwidth use can deter your server activity, so keep that in mind.

Most Madden accessibility features I wrote myself. I've gotten more people on board with helping Madden accessibility this year, which is good as I'm nearly deaf - subtitles and audio tones would be very difficult for me to do myself. I know what it's like to be left out and want everyone to be included, so I do what I can to push accessibility forward. I might not always be successful, but odds are much better than not trying at all.Gameplay really needs to come before there's much hope for narration, as one conceptual argument impeding progress is that there is no point in narrating menus or add supporting features for a game that can't be played. Squish that argument and things become easier to push through. Which is why an upcoming patch for 
 madden has added features in longshot story mode - I proved that the core game could be played by the blind with the patch, so can I add support for this too? The first thing I was asked by every single person is can this even be played if we make this change? Since the answer was yes, it was much easier to push through.One step at a time. It's a bit tricky, you have to go through a couple steps to make it work, but it is playable. I myself am going through the tutorial type thing, where I'm meant to find different things in the city. I'm not well-versed in the game, but if any one has any beginner level questions, I will do my best to answer them. It is a pretty cool game though, as far as I've seen, I'd encourage people to give it a try. Even if you have to jump through a couple hoops.

The "not all paths return a value" error should have appeared along with the "no conversion availible" error, since they are apparently unrelated.The function is supposed to return a float, but there is a way to get to the end without anything being returned. It can't point to a line because the error is that there is a missing line, so it points to the beginning of the function in question. Actually, looking at the IGForce function again, all of the returns are weird. I don't know how BGT deals with returning and assigning in one statement (I've seen something like that work in C, though, so maybe it works?), but you have one empty return, and your else has two returns in sequence.In this case, where you seem to be calculating the force of gravity, I'm a little lost about what the if is for. Also, every physics class I've taken recommends just rounding to 9.81 as the acceleration due to gravity, for any human-scale ob
 jects, since, when compared to the mass of the Earth, the mass of anything less than the moon is a rounding error. (I think we were once even told we could ignore the mass of the Earth when calculating for the Earth/sun gravity, the difference is so great.) So, unless you want to reuse the ball class for simulating the moon falling on the Earth, this might be overkill. (I don't mean in the since that it's too complex to notice; I mean in the since that the difference will be drowned out by floatingpoint rounding errors, because you only have 32-64 bits).

I get the feeling that sapi.h, sapi.lib, Microsoft Speech SDK, etc might lead in the right direction. I'm not sure how to filter out all the "how to make an application use TTS" results, though.I think SAPI is an interface, in the polymorphism sense, so I'd start by trying to make your program accessible through a class that implements that interface. I don't know where you'd find documentation for said interface, but I'd start by looking for files such as the above.

So um, there's actually no coordinate problem Turns out i was not facing north, i was facing west or something No problems, the game is indeed working as it shouldNote to anyone downloading this game, do not try it at 2:30 AM, that was a mistake on my part.I have a suggestion though, well actually 2, would it be possible to add the ability to hit robots with cars? So you can plow through groups of them? And also, could tanks and areal vehicals be added? It would be cool if you could be in a tank and have little fear at all of being attacked, and if helecopters or something were added, you could fly over a battlefield and fire a machinegun down at the bots and destroy massive amounts of them thus giving the player loads of cash to spend on finer things in life.

There was no way for me to edit lines and navigate in menus without sighted help. This is easily fixable though by implementing "Narrator" with the game (available only on Xbox". Other than that everything was already accessible ingame, you just have to know hockey in general and know which player you're controlling. But again the reason why I'm not buying them anymore is because there's no spoken menus. Let's say I wanted to start a season and a player gets injured, I want to know what the injury is, for how long he's out, I want to be able to recall a player from the minors and edit lines. Impossible to do without sighted help. The day you're going to implement Narrator with an NHL game is the day I'm going to buy it, that's for sure.

Well I have friends on both sides.Android devices can be a lot cheaper than apple units.The issue is that once you buy into an echosystem you are stuck with it, ie I am unsure how you can convert your data from apple to android, itunes will accept everything going back into it however.There are contacts apps for the rest, and apps for both systems exist so in that respect there is no issues.Android systems can be vastly cheaper than apple due to the opensource nature and you can even access those android device via usb debugging.Apple does lock a user into what they want.At the same time you don't have all those interface issues that you can with android and without needing to get different keyboards and launchers, etc.On the subject of windows, to the poster who complained about it, yeah I agree with you but microsoft controls a lot of the space, it has to compete in smartphones but there are a lot more windows apps than there 
 are mac and linux though ms and others are waying into just about every market app wize where and whenever they can.And further more if I started again, I'd probably be on a mac or linux right now.A few friends say that desktops are dynosaws and the ultrabook is the way to go.I still like offline storage, all those security issues aside.I have had power cuts either due to failiers or planned shutdowns.ANd I can tell you your cloud data that you rely on is no good if you don't have the net.I feel for those with 128gb or less there are units with 16-32gb those boxes rely on the cloud for apps and data, and with ms accounts computer login.This means you are totally locked out without making another account or a reformat to get your system to even boot.Thankfully ms has given users most bar a few features like data, and settings sync which can be got around with other solutions and finding your computer online and stuff like that
  however the apps accounts give you apps access without locking out your system.It all depends what you spend on something, most blind games are windows based so you need windows at some point.As for linux, I have no planns to really use it as a primary os.However I did some certificate training at uni in it and enjoy it.My eventual goal is to get a windows 10 laptop and convert this old 7 eventually into linux that won't be till win7 dropps out of support.Even then with all the issue I have with some 32 bit apps I am half thinking of installing windows xp or a 32 bit os on this box and using it for gaming and media playback.Then again, my next box will probably be gaming grade and will then have hardwre vertualisation I hope and then I can start running vms of other oses on vmware player then it won''t matter that much.If I can convert this old tosh to linux with a desktop distribution like arch sonar or mate or somethi

Malwarebytes is really not that accessible, I use it once a year on the remote boxes and clear stuff, but mostly it finds vary little.One time it did last month, a user had been looking for things, software which was for skype recording and a few other things.Instead of asking me he decided to go it alone with expected results.Clearing the infestations out wasn't the problem, backing up his files wasn't the problem, but as well as destroying the malware the program and other things he used destroyed his sound card drivers which I had to reinstall.It destroyed all his outlook databases, and office and his user profile.He uses this system as a box for odds and ends and everything is on the cloud.So its not the biggest loss, however just fixing all those issues alone is a nightmare.Especially since he got a system from the lowest shady bidder on the net.And the hardware is so old and outdated I am not sure if it will survive t
 he next reformat and if that happens it may be easier to just replace it.So I tried and thank the good lord that the system came back up.I had to replace one insecure, and quite old and out of date wireless card which had caused a lot of issues, but as far as I care the entire system is a security risk, there are no updates not even hardware security updates because its to old.it cost him 200 dollars and is cobbled together from junkish bits and bobs.If the good lord gave me about 2000 dollars today, I'd buy him a reputable system from a reputable dealer.He has got from the same place a branded laptop, but its a branded laptop.An hp one, its had some modification, and it to is no longer supported by hp but bar a couple drivers I had to load it runs default microsoft hardware and even hp says it doesn't need anything on its website so I leave it like that.

Hi,I am now going to go back on topic. I have tried the following:Harry Potter Phelospher's stone on ps1, I could beat the troll with some trial and error and no sighted help. I just had to learn to mvoe back wards and I liked the autojump feature.Lord of the Rings Return of The King, needs more audio cueues for exploration but I enjoyed what I could play, but got stuck a few times.New Star Wars Battlefront, this is going to need quite a bit of accessibility work I think, but I like how the game is in stereo sound and I think this would be a dream come true if a game like this was playable.

That's more than most people do to be certain and we are all incredibly grateful, but I would tend to agree with Shrike. I could see well enough to play and beat games such as Mass Effect 2 and Need for Speed Carbon, but the practicality of playing titles like that is sorely mitigated by how purely visual games are, and for good reason; that's the niche people have been innovating upon for decades now. The blind community is really only just now starting to see big steps being taken that allow us to play games nearly in depth as pokemon with titles like Manamon. Having played crystal on my Gameboy color obsessively, I found that Manamon does a good job of delivering the exact experience. I think it would be particularly easy to add audio concepts into mainstream console titles; someone just needs to take the time to start at the beginning. Developers create far more work for themselves when they try to tac on accessibility as an after thought because they then have to go
  through each line of code to add in whatever needs to be added in instead of just implementing it in the first place.

@shrike: I truly believe this is serious. Have you tried out something like Narrator on xbox one? Well let's just say that's a small step. I'm just glad that companies are now asking us. Here's the thing. Why would a company come to the audiogames forum if they don't want to do anthing? This website is so specific, there wouldn't be much point in coming here unless you were on some sort of small mission to get accessibility going, and with the way things have been going this is looking really promising.

Hmmm.When sonnar did a forum we don't currently, we used pun bb, however we found it not really secure, to much spam, out of date and generally crappy!We tried other forum packages but they didn't work so well.Eventually we decided to chuck it in and put all our stuff up here.Pun bb is good but we need more than 1 package because relying on 1 is not always the best.On the wordpress forum side, you're in luck.I don't use forums on wordpress but I am one of the testers on the test dev team, I have just sent them this thread by email, and maybe if we can prove this we can add this to the schedual for the next big wordpress update.We are going to be releasing new stuff with wordpress later, namely the gutinberg editor, which should be out at the end of the year.Access wize there are still a few kinks and for myself I'd prefur we kept the editor we have now but the word from on high is that gutinberg is replacing 
 the old editor weather we like it or not so we better get used to it.With this in mind a lot of work is being done testing serveying and getting everything ready.So the fact this thing came up at this time is probably going to factor into the next updates.

getting to cold or to hot can cause you to die reguardless of your stats. Being hot increases your thirst very very fast. Being cold decreases your energy. One thing to say though. Just be logical with your clothing. Some people when they are hot just strip off everything to try to solve the issue that way. But that's not what you do. You just have to say, wear a t-shirt in very hot weather rather than a large jacket. Or, there are some items that actually help you get cold, such as a tanktop, glasses that keep out the son, etc. You can also create a paper fan to wave around by combining 2 paper together, or use ice to temperarily cool you off.

In fact, I already have the Omega Shooter. In my first playthrough, I grinded for it before continuing to level 17. It wasn't so bad, especially compared to the ultimate needle launcher. I understand your skepticism, and I hope I'm eventually able to convince you of my sincerity. The biggest political obstacle against screen reading I've encountered is "the core game itself isn't accessible, so why would menus matter?" I'd like to know which games can be meaningfully played in some way by the blind, to work up an argument against this. As always, I can't promise anything, but I certainly want to try.

Well I did like the idea of  having to change activities to level, though as I said when I read the descriptions of  higher level  stuff they seemed to get much less interesting as time went on, particularly when at later levels your activities basically revolved in fiddling the stock market rather than actually going to places and seeing bits of the universe or doing things with real items you could experience.I don't know, I haven't actually played the game so maybe some  are more interesting in practice than they actually sound?

In fact, I already have the Omega Shooter. In my first playthrough, I grinded for it before continuing to level 17. It wasn't so bad, especially compared to the ultimate needle launcher. I should give clok another go myself, since Trinica wasn't doing too badly, albeit I'd not entirely decided on a profession. the problem I always had with clok were a few holes in the mechanics that just didn't get fixed,   lack of either a wearable miner's lamp or one that could be mounted on the cart, or some of the issues you'd had even wearing leather armour. I did love the wilderness though and it would have been nice to get to the point where I could actually take on anything tougher than a fox and survive, I particularly liked how you could craft all your own gear, including bows and arrows and fishing spears, not to mention skewers and such.

With regards to malware bites, with supernova I remember the main  problem were the action buttons on what  to do with stuff. running scans, seeing threats, even  changing update times, all fine, just a case of hitting the  right tab and button, but for some reason the program used these very odd message boxes. You could read the message, but the actual button to click to say  choose an infection to   quarantine, or whether to quarantine and delete or just quarantine wasn't readable. This sadly also seemed to count the registration box, since I did look at buying malware bites a couple of years ago but then couldn't actually register the thing.On the plus side, basically all I had to do with most notification boxes was just hit tab once and enter, which would quarantine threats first off, and then empty the quarantine section later which helped. how Nvda does with malware bites,  I don't k
 now though, since with supernova I was using virtual focus fairly exclusively and oviously things in Nvda are different.

Sure, maybe on the earlier models Linux might work here and there, but if you want Linux to even work close to reliably on macs, go ahead and go all the way back to the old 2007/2008 macs and forget about your 2013s. As for the latest, forget it. Apple has done it again - controlled everyone, as I've said before -- and now Linux doesn't even boot on the latest hardware they have. Oh! Also, let me not also forget to add that none of apples computers (except the really old ones) are user-serviceable! So, if your warranty expires, or your computer gets damaged, too bad -- time to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars to get it fixed!@15, it certainly is not arrogant that we have more choices than apple offers you. I don't really mind if you call it Fanboyism or Apple Addiction, but I do find Apple working better than any operating system I've tried. In the Smartphone world, I started with Android which gave me the biggest disappointment as I couldn't really use my phone as others did. I won't go over the same words I have said again because it becomes tiring for you to hear me, but I won't choose an operating system which requires you to be a blind expert and a highly regardid experimentalist. Why do I say this? I say this because on Android, as a blind person you have to experiment so much to find what's best for you. Install hundrids of applications to find one that works, and replace most of Android's environment with software which doesn't fail to get along well with Talkback. This is the process of experimentation. You say that Android offers you more choices, but you forget that the more choices you have, the less reliant you'll be on one. 
 As an example, on Android you have two screen readers, each with its own good and bad features, whereas on iOS you have only one, which means that you'll rely on that single one. While on Android you have two screen readers. You will switch often between them, because a feature which is found on Talkback isn't found on ShinePlus and vice-versa. These are the reasons we stick to Apple, not that we love the beauty of its logo. I think you are being more arrogant than the fanboys of both sides.

I used to play clok, but it doesn't work well with me. I don't know why, but everytime I log in, I get like serious amounts of lag.For me to execute one command, it's like I type it, then five seconds later it executes it.But I used to play it, it was ages ago though.I actually used to host on cosmic rage, and it doesn't have any real good crafting things. It's more a space mud, than anything else.It has some crafting, but nothing too amazing.What on earth is frandom though?Oh and sorry guys, I did post it in the wrong forum.

I honestly never know if these posts are just for spoof effect.I apologise Karen if I am sounding like a grumpy old man but when E.A. has a primarily texted based game in Football Manager and its totally in accessible I find it hard to take these posts seriously.I would love to play Tiger Woods golf, Madden NFL and Fifa in all its incarnations, but unless the menus are not spoken or its screen reader compatible its just a non starter.I know there are blind folks that plod along playing these games anyway which baffles me beyond belief, but speaking from my viewpoint,  a person who was sighted until adulthood its just not practical.The fact of the matter is,  to much work for little profit,  and that was the response I got from another major game developer when I broached the subject.
