Re: Has there been a password breach?

No, it means that your password for AG.NET has been leaked in some kind of data dump. Not the fault of AG.NET but probably your (unwise) idea of password reuse. I'd strongly recommend you use a password manager and change the password of all accounts that use that password. And never reuse a password -- I can't stress this enough. And enable 2-factor whenever you can too.

Let's say, a move with less accuracy is being used, and it took the hit. It did not die, and it's dodging power is increased, so there is less chance that the same move will hit for sure hit next turn. Since most of the moves with 115, 120 effect points have low accuracy, moves with less effect points will not kill it. Also, plague will be super effective on every manamon that it battles.

@8: Mid 2000s? We just got to 1997, with Manamon and AHC. Maybe you're counting the FPS games as 2000s? TBH I don't really feel like we've completed half of the 90s (Do we have anything vaguely resembling Super Mario 64? Gauntlet anything?), and certainly haven't come anywhere near the 2000s as regards any genre other than FPS.But yeah, I wonder how many people give up because they don't feel like they can compete with BK3 and Shadow Rlrline.

Re: Discussion of the 2020 American Federal Election

So I'm not even going to try and break down that last point because I know by now that people like you will only hear what you want to hear, but your point about meds does actually hold at least some merit. We actually *do* have to take meds, even after transitioning fully, especially after transitioning fully. Those hormones just can't and won't produce themselves, and not having them obviously could lead to serious health complications. Of course even for pre GRS people there could still be a mental health problem there too, and no the answer there definitely wouldn't be just suck it up and deal. I'm fresh out of good comparisons right now, but like, it's 1 of those things where if you start, unless you simply find yourself not needing it any more for whatever reason, you really can't stop. Then again, all of the above is only relevant if you're serving over seas. Admittedly I don't know much about how the US military works, and perhaps serving over seas is indeed a requirement somewhere down the line, but somehow I doubt it. And, you know, there are only so many people with absolutely 0 health complications that require meds, and there are a lot more jobs that need to be done besides field stuff.

Hi.Viralite is not that really bad, I just used it in one of my playthrough. It gets moves like unknown virus, which will prevent itself from dying in one hit, also, it's 2 abilities are not that bad. They allow the moves to miss. The bad stats on it I see is just it's health, and defences. Attack stats are okay.Duskond gets Shadow Spear, so, I am okay with it.Simulon's defences are great, they have the potential to go above 335 mark. But I would suggest it could get moves with more accuracy, also, it's JumpLets should be powerful, or, it's strength could slightly be raised more. For rest, I think I will agree

All I ever see them do is either use stunning call over and over and over, or just die. Remullion is another one I haven't really played much other than to mess with that move thing. I wonder if it keeps the same order of moves if you breed it starting with a Remullion or if you have to start with a Steelion and Redonkeus each time. And, after testing this, you don't get the moves passed down from one Remullion to the next. It starts with battle cry as its only move if you do that. Fail!

Re: Braille: do you guys still use it in this digitalized world?

I'm kind of an odd one I suppose. Tl,dr: I believe every blind child should be fluent in braille literacy. That said, I believe it is important for blind youth, especially when nearing adulthood, to develop their own perspective, without pressure, on how much they feel they need braille in their day-to-day lives. At the end of the day, braille is a blind person's tool. There's no getting around it. It's a damn useful tool, and accomplishes many of the same things print does for the sighted, but the differences between braille and print are far from negligible in my opinion, simply because there's no way to make the two systems compatible with one another without a third party. Sometimes that third party is a transcriber, but for the most part, technology is serving that third party role extraordinarily well these days. You could argue that braille is not really necessary with the technology we have. To be honest, sighted people are struggling with the same problems; I have heard that children no longer learn cursive writing or how to read a clock face. Why? Because analog clocks are antiquated, and nobody uses cursive anymore. Aside from those things being old school, I think technology is just providing easier alternatives. Some people find that incredibly sad, some people aren't bothered by it. I'm in the middle somewhere, able to understand both sides. I'm not here to find happy compromises for all the world's problems, so I'll take a back seat and let other people sort out what is or is not needed in 2020.My own personal story:I learned braille really well in school, but I haven't used braille much in almost 8 years. I can still read and write it well though. The reason I ultimately stopped using braille regularly was that I was tired of dealing with it. I've never liked the fact that I am blind, and braille was just one more thing I felt made me different. What really clenched it for me was an incident a month or so into my seventh grade year. My English teacher asked me if I could write capital letters, because I forgot to capitalize words on a spelling test. She wasn't being rude or anything, she legit was concerned that my device wasn't advanced enough to do it. Some people might have been appalled; this would be an insult on their intelligence. I don't appall easily though. I knew it was an honest question, and it made me sad. It made me feel like I came from a primitive culture with poor educational standards. I don't hold it against her for asking at all... It just sent me on a thought train which added to my dissatisfaction with my blindness. Then there was the incident where a teacher accidentally gave my braille transcriber a test with the answer key, which resulted in me having to take the test late in order for the situation to be sorted out. Not to mention the multiple incidents where my hard copy braille was not very readable due to me erasing stuff, so I'd have to tell the transcriber what I wrote. It frustrated me, since I never felt directly responsible for my work. I always had to go through someone to translate my blind output to sighted input. When I started getting good at computers, I went through a phase where I was good at certain things on the computer, and other things on the note taker. Anything involving the Internet was a computer task, while anything involving writing was a note taker task. I had to go through braille to text translation which wasn't always perfect. More than once I'd go back and forth between note taker and computer, and I found it irritating. I just wanted to feel like I was fitting in with my peers. Maybe I was just looking for an escape from blindness. As it turns out, I sort of got my wish soon after high school. During my first few months of college, my note taker crashed on me very unexpectedly. It would take weeks to fix. I did have a nice laptop at the time, though I didn't use it much. It served as my motivation for learning BGT and for making games primarily for my own enjoyment. Then there's still the aspect of pretending to be something they never can be. What's the difference between a biological man claiming to be a woman or a biological woman trying to be a man and someone going into the recruiter's office claiming they're a unicorn. Because until someone convinces me differently, that's how I see it. To the people that have undergone the process and have actually found happiness on the other side, great, but it's a hell of a long way to the other side of that chasm, and a pretty big jump to get there. There may not be happiness on the other side.

Re: syngen, audio game and synthesis library for the web

@12Synthizer gets double digit sources in debug builds with the boring old non-optimized convolution that you're never supposed to use and I expect upwards of 1000 in practice on a good machine in the microbenchmarks, whenever they happen.  That's partly sarcasm--when deciding to use boring old O(n^2) convolution everyone always misses the bit about the crossover point where the FFT version starts being faster, which is something I persistently see people get wrong.  Sadly it sounds like the WebAudio people missed that too.  Fun.  Admittedly part of that is that I am very clever about packing data appropriately for SSE vectorization, but still.  Every time I think I'm done being disappointed with the implementation quality of it, I find that I was in fact mistaken.I haven't read your code, but I'm assuming that you're doing a biquad per channel.  The problem with that is that a single biquad isn't actually enough to capture HRTF.  You'll permanently lose out on any vertical effects for one thing.  What I may eventually do in Synthizer is allow an additional lowpass filter for emphasis.  But even that doesn't work out so well in practice: the lowpass filter for behind the player due to HRTF and the lowpass filter for occluded by the wall are effectively the same filter.  It might be possible to construct a more accurate model with 2 or 3 biquads in series, but I haven't tried.  The actual frequency response of those impulses is more like a complicated equalizer, not just a couple filters in series.  The "the head is a sphere and" models throw out a lot of detail. As a benchmark, check this or any of the other variants of it with different HRTF datasets.  OpenALSoft is kind of the benchmark for this, and it's just convolution plus reintroducing removed interaural time difference that was extracted with magic.  I can go into the specifics of the magic, if you know enough math, or you can read the scripts in Synthizer's repository where I do something in the same general ballpark of it.  The general idea is that you convert the filters to minimum phase, then you do some normalization that lets you select between flat frequency response and "this is Bob's head and only Bob's head" response, and just land somewhere in the middle, enough to emphasize what most people have in common without overindividualizing it.But in general you're stuck with WebAudio and probably can't do better, at least unless you feel like getting into web assembly.  It might be possible to make a program which determines the low-level coefficients for biquad equivalents, but I don't think WebAudio is big on crossfading that properly for you and the naive thing where you crossfade the coefficients one by one actually produces intermediate unstable filters. One thing that does really leap out at me is that you say what you do is faster than 2 StereoPannerNodes per source.  What was the motivation there?  As far as I know you should only ever need one per source.

Re: Discussion of the 2020 American Federal Election

This seems to contradict the whole, "everyone who transitions is happy afterward", attitude the press seems to like to tout. Another thing, while I can't speak on female hormones, I do know a little bit about male hormones since hypogonadism is something I have. In my case, it is of the secondary variety, due to pituitary complications caused by septo-optic dysplasia. When you give someone testosterone, two things happen. The first is that men with no T problems have varying levels throughout the day, peaking around 9 in the morning and fluctuating from there. In fact, whenever I get blood work done to test my levels, they want it done between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM for that very reason. The second is that it can make a man dependent on it, as described in the latter half of this article. So, do we know that giving a biological female these hormones, that stopping them due to military service wouldn't cause other issues for them? You do have a point that everyone who goes into the service isn't a combattant, but you don't always choose where you are assigned either. You could be a desk jockey in Iran, and how would you get your meds?

This is a great opportunity to take advantage of nvda's on-the-fly python availability, presuming that what you're dealing with here are plain text files. If that's the case, the script below should do what you want: copy everything from the line starting with def to the bottom of my post (it'll end with the line saying the file was saved), fill in the quotes as directed, paste it into nvda's python console (nvda->tools->python console), and press enter so it puts you back at a command prompt. Then, just type addtext() and hit enter. If all works correctly, you'll promptly get a notification that the new file was saved, and you're good to go.The only thing to remember is that you need to give absolute paths as your file names, for exampleoriginal="c:\users\me\documents\dictionary.txt"I hope this helps - and if any of the python-using folks on here want to write a better version, please do feel free (and I'll remove the worse one).def addtext(): original=""#fill the quotes in with the full path to the file you want to modify newfile=""#fill the quotes in with the full path of the file you want to create prefix=""#Fill the quotes in with the text you want at the start of each line suffix=""#Fill the quotes in with the text you want at the end of each line f=open(original,"r") lines=f.readlines() f.close() if(lines[-1][-1]!="\n"):  lines[-1]+="\n" f=open(newfile,"w") for line in lines:  f.write(prefix+line[:-1]+suffix+"\n") f.close() print(newfile+" saved.")

I can't say this is entirely for beginners, mainly because I've used it for my own projects and haven't put the time into making it super approachable. Here's how I might start:Know your tools. Find a text editor or IDE that you like and can work efficiently within.Have an idea. Determine what you want to make, and outline it before you start.Read the docs. Learn what this provides for you and what you'll need to build yourself.Check the examples. Discover how you might approach building it, but know there's no right way except what feels right.Otherwise you don't need anything else to get started besides the library and a web browser. If you need to learn more about sound design or synthesis (which this is primarily geared towards), then I might recommend the excellent Synth Secrets article series. It's a lot to take in, but we're here on this forum to help you get started.@11:I totally agree with your assessment in general. I created this library primarily as a learning exercise. There are two main reasons why I kept this direction with respect to binaural rendering:ConvolverNode is extremely expensive in the Web Audio API. Although this model applies two BiquadFilterNodes, DelayNodes, and GainNodes per sound source, it's still much more performant than two StereoPannerNodes (stock HRTF) or two ConvolverNodes (impulse responses).HRTF has fixed spectral qualities. With a configurable acoustic shadow we can apply more specific roll-off frequencies. For example, with sounds tuned to specific musical frequencies with a lot of harmonics, we can apply the shadow to directionally filter out frequencies above the root. So a sawtooth might turn into a sine wave when behind you. I think this is important for eliminating the cone of confusion. In a future version I'd like to make this configurable per instance so musical sounds could have even more directionality. If there's anything I'm getting totally wrong with my model, please let me know!

Hmm. I'm thinking meh. If I make a fighting team, I've got Rumblebee, Guerrerrol, Garganchan, and Ninjarkin already. Not sure for the remaining two. I've never played Giganatan. All I ever see them do is either use stunning call over and over and over, or just die. Remullion is another one I haven't really played much other than to mess with that move thing. I wonder if it keeps the same order of moves if you breed it starting with a Remullion or if you have to start with a Steelion and Redonkeus each time.

Re: Discussion of the 2020 American Federal Election

Except that's not how it works in practice. You make at least a potential argument re: medication, hormones. Especially for someone in transition, serving in active combat situations might be difficult. But there is no reason why someone who has fully transitioned can't serve. And the military is more than just soldiers on the ground. More by far.As far as whether or not being transgender is, in and of itself, a mental illness, I think you need to look a little more closely. Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder, but someone who is being acknowledged as the correct gender, internally and externally, is not going to be experiencing gender dysphoria anymore, particularly if they've been able to transition. As such, exclusion on the basis of mental illness is shaky at best and prejudicial at worst.

Tenshaino was notably bad in manamon 1, but I think in manamon 2 it at least gets Tactical Rush. At the least, if you trade for that one dude's Palador early in the game, I'm pretty sure it comes with Tactical Rush. That said, we definitely need better fighting moves. And Tenshaino has a staff; I feel like Staff Slash was kinda made for it.

Yup, I know the picture tells me how it's supposed to go, but I'm really bad at doing these types of puzzles. From what I've seen, I'm dealing with a boulder, a table, a bench, and a person. Strange that this person is just letting me shove them about any which way, but oh well. Any pointers on which object I should tackle first, or in general the order in which I should try to move the things around? As I said before, I really hate, and am not good at, these object movement puzzles.

How would it not? The most obvious reason would be the hormones. Now, these are voluntary but still, how will you get your medication if you're half way across the world. This would also affect someone like me, because even if somehow, I was gifted with sight, there are hormone replacement therapies that I need to be on, so it's not just transgender people, but anyone who needs medication. Then there's the mental side of things. I guess this is controversial, but is being transgender a mental illness. I lean towards yes on that question. So why would the military want to enlist folks with known mental illnesses. This isn't a Micky D's where the worst that'll happen is that someone gets mad you put mayo on their burger when they asked for plain. This is the military, they need the best of the best.

Re: syngen, audio game and synthesis library for the web

For what it's worth, you may find in practice that just using a database of impulse responses gives you a much better HRTF implementation than trying to make it configurable.  Almost no one will play with the configuration, and in practice those sorts of mathematical models are actually very poor approximations to the head, so the trade-off very much can become "1% of users configure it, but it's worse for the 99%".  Unfortunately the built-in WebAudio one is highly variable per browser. The only good configurable one I know of is OpenALSoft, and there's a frankly massive C program which is responsible for taking the impulse responses and the configuration parameters and producing a big data file that gets fed in at runtime.

Re: Manamon 2 Edge of the World Help

Okay, so this is the last time I'm helping with this area, now or ever, because now it will appear in search.Edge of the World spoilers (chiroperta)I'm not gonna go back down there just to test this - I hate this area more than most in the game - but the trick here is that you have to either hug the north or south wall for each set of Chiroperta. If you have to alternate, try to do it roughly midway between the group on your left and the group on your right. You'll have about four squares where you're safe, I believe. The pattern is north, south, north, south, north, north, south, north. If that doesn't work, it's exactly reversed (south, north, south, north, south, south, north, south). When I beat the game for the first time, it took me a little bit of trial and error to get through here...by which I mean I was done in about three minutes. And they don't change. You're only booted back to the beginning of the Chiroperta area, so it's not even all that bad. Remember that you don't have to hold down arrow keys to run when you have a speed booster. If you're really paranoid, especially with regard to things like lasers and timed spikes, just tap the arrow keys gently to move one step at a time. It's slow, but it's safe. I usually just blitz when I'm close to the end because (tiny spoiler) there's a manalith machine right before the next area begins. I usually only have one manamon left by this point because I get tired of waiting around and just bulrush.Incidentally, I wish that there was some sort of option in the game itself to run faster than you do (like 1.5x speed, maybe?), and I also wish there was an option to turn off footsteps. Some footstep sounds I'm okay with, but others, I am just sick to death of hearing.

I would go back to your previous installation if possible using Aira or another similar service. It turns out that the latest version of Windows 10 has a bug that can cause certificates to be lost and drivers to stop working if updating through anything other than  Windows Update.

A speed booster that I really don't want, but I'm pretty sure it's unavoidable, got that too. Now, about these chiroperta! Thanks to that stupid speed booster, I was walking around pretty fast, and couldn't always exactly count my steps, even by just tapping arrows. I assume the trick to this is to play guessing games with each one, to see which way it'll let you through? Of course, guess wrong anywhere in this area, and the one you hit throws you all the way back to the start of that little maze type thing! And to make matters even worse, you can't even save your game while doing this bit, which means avoiding each one doesn't really mean anything, since one wrong step will undo all your work!Um, help?

Re: Discussion of the 2020 American Federal Election

If anyone's still following the Trump lawsuits, this is a pretty accurate representation of where we're at, as of earlier today:https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 … n-lawsuitsNone of them have borne any fruit. They're just delaying the inevitable. The Trump government is doing everything it can to make stuff tough on Biden and Harris, but Biden's already got a Covid-19 task force assembled and is arranging his policy. He has been planning for Trump resistance for months now, apparently, to a great enough extent that even folks within his campaign thought he was going overboard. Well, apparently he wasn't, and it's paying dividends now.Haily, not that you're American or anything, but this should make you happy. I know it did me. One of the first things Biden intends to reverse is the transgender military ban Trump enacted. And he can do that with executive order alone.

Re: why does my google chrome say blank blank when loading websites?

If your Chrome takes 6 seconds to load, either your computer is not all that good, or your internet is not all that good. It takes about 2/10 of a second to load under moderate sites, less for light graphics, and a bit more for sites like youtube.I wonder when this started though, and is there a big difference between loading the same site under Chrome and FireFox. I'm not really sure as to the cause, unfortunately.

To be clear, he said this like seven months ago, but he -did say it, both of Manamon 1 and Manamon 2. If someone wants to provide me with a copy of Manamon 1's game script, I'd do it for that game too.
