Competition wanted!

Anyone still have Top Speed 3 and want to play, I have the port opened up for my server, its hosted on my local machine so its not up all the time but if you wanna race, let me know here. Ive trounced the two people Ive played so far but I dont think Im that good at the game.

Im EST thats GMT-5. Like I said before, the server is not always up since it is hosted on my local machine but if we can get a little gang together... The IP is 174.55.151.7.In case you dont know, you put that into the external config tool, there are two executable files in the install dir. You enter that IP in there.I have also begun making tracks and vehicles, so far I have one of each. The challenge for vehicles is finding good quality sounds. I dont have the money to go out and buy one of these huge sound libraries.

I might have to try it again, I tried the demo when it first came out and Liam was streaming it non-stop. I thought it was pretty bad to be honest. The dialog was mediocre at best, the scrolls were downright infuriating, i mean i had to try the first tutorial thing like a good dozen or so times. I did enjoy the exploration parts but again as discussed by others, some of the areas are too big. My opinion at the time was it felt like alpha software. Maybe this has changed, I dont know if the developer has put in any updates since then but it needs updates if nothing has changed.But to those who enjoy it buying it is not only a good way to support the developer but it is encouragement for other devs to make games. Its cool when a free game is published, and some of them are very good, but we lack really great games, like AAA titles. The best so far is probably Swamp. And Im not knocking the paid offerings like Judgement Day and so forth, they are very good bu
 t we need really top notch games. That means hard work, lots of time and dedication from developers and this is not likely to happen if people complain about paying for games, everyone else pays for good games, we should too.

I made a vehicle and a track. Its not hard at all, the manual that can be found in your install dir tells you everything you need to know about the process. Basically, theyre just text files. The vehicles are a little harder, at least for me, because I dont have access to good sounds. You have to find a sound and edit it to make it loop, this can be difficult especially for the engine if say someone starts it up and revs it. you want a clip where the engine is idling normally and if its too short you cant loop it right. Other than that, its just filling in numbers. like the track has four numbers in columns on one row, the first one is your curve, 0 being straight 1-5 are degrees of left turning so easy left, left, hard left, and hairpin, and the same goes for 6 through 9 but for the right hand turns. The second number is the type of surface, I dont remember them off hand just that 0 is asphault, the third number is a sound to be played at
  you drive through that portion of track, again reference the manual, it has all the numbers and their associated sounds in tables. The fourth number is the length of that portion of track. So you just create each piece and move down to the next line and do it again. And at the end there is special syntax which I dont remember except -1 to end the track, but this can be found in the manual.Tracks must have a .trk extension on the text file and go in the tracks folder and vehicles must have a .vhc extension and go in the vehicles folder. Also both tracks and vehicles need a sound file that has the same name as the track and be a wave file with a .wav extension and that sound is played when you arrow onto that track or vehicle in the menu.

I use audacity, so first off I will go into my microphone settings. Press windows key + B then arrow right until you hear speakers or headphones and a percentage. press your applications key, this is usually to the right of the right alt key, press R and you will be taken into the recording settings dialog. Next arrow down to the mic youre going to use and tab twice to properties and hit enter, now, control + tab once to get to the listen tab, press space to check the box, press ok, then OK on the second window and now you should be hearing your mic through your speakers or headphones. Now, go into Audacity, press shift + H and go down to windows wasapi and hit enter. Now, when you record, sounds are being looped through your sound card so you will hear the microphone and your screen reader plus all the other sounds your computer makes. You would have to figure out how to do this if you are not using audacity. Also, there is another way with a patch cable but i wont ge

fuck that shit man, dont use any registry cleaners, or if you do make damn sure its doing the right shit, it should give you the option to review all changes before making changes, best to do that sort of thing manually, all though It is a bit risky and you want to be careful inside regedit and make sure you know damn well what youre deleting. its more up to the technical level of the user before you go telling him / her to flash bios. And be careful also with speed fan, it does make very real changes to your hardware and you must make sure that you dont go mucking around with the power settings in there unless you know what youre doing or youll end up melting something. Avoid places that shove free scans at you, they are always gonna make you buy the software to complete the fix.Try a good old fashioned clean. Take off the side of the case and feel around for dust, then take a vacuum with a hose to it, if you use a shop vac make sure the
  hose is in the wrong end so its sucking and not blowing or youll blue your system full of shit, also make sure that the blowy side is covered with a filter or that the vac has a filter somewhere else. Also get right in there at the heat sync and fans but be careful the action of the vacuum will cause the blades to spin, so just make sure you dont allow them to strike the side of the hose or you might snap one or more of them off.

yeah that would be cool, because products like RealFlight require that you have a radio which can be interfaced into the PC and not just any controller like the one I have which is not a heli radio but just an xbox 360 wired controller. Of course then you gotta figure does BGT have libs for dealing with input from controllers, if not, then that could be a challenge.

Probably, because you need to see the position of the players on the field, you need to see which player you are in control of by the highlight under them, you have to know who has the ball, you have to call the plays, and there too many to memorize, and the play calling menus wrap, and each play can be flipped, and red a blue plays, red for run and blue for pass. No, I dont think it would be doable.

Hmm, thats rough. Well the issue is not the lack of audiogames, its the ability to learn new concepts so something simple. Well Death on the road by Oriol Gomez would be a good one. Think of it as blindie Frogger. You basically go mad from your OM (Orientation and mobility) instructor nagging at you, so you cross the road over and over, it only uses the up and down arrows. enter and escape, and typing in a name for sending the score which is optional. Theres The Road to Rage abbreviated RTR, which is a loose association with call of duty. Although it needs to have people on it to work. Theres swamp, a zombie first person shooter, but that can be tricky. Hmm, I know someone can make better suggestions. Theres the BGT shockshot example game, there all ya gotta do is center the sound, then get the highest pitch then hit space to fire the gun, do that 10 times then get a score.

I use an xbox 360 controller which has a cable with a USB connector on it. The full name is xbox 360 controller for windows, it was like #20 bucks for a refurb one i think. There are others, but i really dont know.

And just as a distinction, BGT is not an engine in the same way unity or unreal or quake 3 is, its more of a scripting language. There really havent been any audiogame engines to my knowledge, although there was an environment for you to build in but it was very restrictive and I cannot recall the name.

One thing of note, since this boys a previous Xbox player, there are Xbox 360 controllers which have a cable attached instead of being wireless, they plug into a computers USB port. This way if he plays fighting games like injustice or MKX, he will have a controller that feels familiar to him. Not a lot of audio games require or even accept that form of input, however, some do, such as Mach1 by Jim Kitchen, and Puppy1 by the same author / dev.Games like Deek out, or quick tap might even do more for him than just act as a form of entertainment, they might go a step closer to repairing those neural pathways that have been disrupted due to his injury.Any information that you can give which does not go beyond the legalities of confidentiality between you and your client, which could give us more insight to what he is able to do, and which areas he has trouble would help us recommend more specific titles as Aprone said.

Surprisingly, Ive gotten a reply from the webmaster Derek.He has temporarily disabled captchas and is going to look into RECaptcha or determine whether or not captchas are still needed.You have to send an email back to them anyway because they want to avoid spamming.

Sorry about this strange title, I couldnt come up with a more concise way to say it.Anyway, Has anyone tried Lambda Moo. Its such a historical and huge place to visit as it was created by Pavel Curtis in the late 80s and is still around today. Its absolutely huge and many places and games and things to interact with. There is a registration process but anyone can log on as a guest and explore.The connection info is: lambda.moo.mud.org Port . Just follow the instructions to log on as a guest then you can run around and explore the place. Perks of registering for a character is being able to build and get a proggy bit. There are player built houses, puzzles and games for you to try out. There is also a Rube Goldberg contraption thats different each time you interact with it.It works like any other moo really, however, you can teleport if you know the number of the room you want to go to with the @go command. You can even add roo
 ms to your rooms list to teleport by name.There is one feature object you want to add to your character, which is #23824. This is a compass rosette and what it does it provides possible exits. What you want to do is type @rose +t and that adds the text option to it. Any other time you can just type @rose of you want to know the exits without the spam of the graphic.I must urge any potential users to read over their rules and make sure you follow them or youll probably end up getting booted. Any character has the ability to boot naughty guests.Its like taking a step backward in time, so if you feel like some nostalgia trip, drop that info into your client.lambda.moo.mud.org

hmm, i used to do dosbox stuff all the time before it should just mount or mt virtual path path where the virtual path can be like z: or b: or whatever then you reference that when you change dirs and stuff. You would generally mount the games folder since then you can cd into whatever game you wish without having to unmount and mount the new dir. so it should be like mt z: c:\gamesIts been quite a while years back so i could misremember. Yeah but you can see the text on MUSHclient with nvda, just keep your numlock off and use the object nav commands on it. When first you load in, use INS + 4 twice then just use 7 and 9 to go back and forwards in lines. Ok for assigning a directory that is possible its in the settings. The whole steam client is inaccessible to screen readers even after applying that little trick in the articles section. You go in there then theres a place to assign it. Id just up and move the whole deal over but then steam wont recognize it so Id reinstall it.

Ok so this is the deal. Abandonware stuff is stuff that the owner doesnt care enough about to say hey, Im not offering this anymore. The owner is literally trashing it either physically or just moving on in their lives. So, while copyright can be attached to something thats abandonware, its unlikely that it will be defended because the owner doesnt care about it anymore. Its not like you are pirating music and movies and the record company comes down on you on behalf of the artist. youre not pirating abandonware if you choose to download it, youre just downloading a piece of software that the owner doesnt support. Thats like if i went onto 3D realms site and found Terminal Velocity and Duke Nukem 3D for sale, then found those games on an abandonware site and downloaded them for free on the abandonware site, thats piracy, however if there is no option to legally purchase them and you find them on an abandonware
  site, then that is not pirating, thats just downloading abandonware software. Also, its worth checking the license because if the copyright is out of date, there isnt a damn thing they can do about it. At least in the States. I know there are other countries in which any content created by someone is instantly copyrighted, but its not that way in the states, you need to buy a copyright license. but then you get into the origin of the thing, which country the site is hosted in, pyisically. It can get complicated, but if youre in good old merica, its simpler.

There is a way that Ive heard of in which you can connect to your chat via IRC with a client of your choice to get your chat that way. I do not know how to do it but I think Liam does, but I dont know if he follows this forum... Ive never gotten live chat coming in as text right to the screen reader. As for watching a stream and reading the chat, it is possible with NVDA if you use the mouse to go up and down the window but thats all I know. There are two popular streaming software packages, OBS (Open Broadcasting Software), and XSplit, the latter is a yearly license I think. I played with it once before when my internet was worse and I couldnt stream without dropping massive frames and I wasnt willing to compromize video quality. You need to get your stream key from twitch, which means that you need an account with them, you plug the stream key into OBS and then when you get your scene set up and hit start streaming, it goes. Keep the stream ke
 y private! If not, then anyone can plug it into their streaming software and stream on your channel. You can also host someone else with /host username and that sort of puts their stream on your channel, you do that through the dashboard. Youre gonna need upload to stream, like decent upload like probably at least 3 up. If not then you will have to cut the bitrate down and thats gonna suck.

Its not the fault of the controller, each game has its own way of laying out wwhat controls it wants to use. There usually are menus to fix this, but it would not be accessible unless you can OCR the screen and get accurate results

holy crap, this game is simply amazing. I am having the most fun I think Ive ever had in a MUD. Even though I am having crappy luck and dying a bit ,and losing my riln and stuff, lets just say the history on my char has not been great. One fatal mining accident, a non-fatal one, those morn shades that come in the mine, not being able to afford a weapon so using the pickaxe to try to fend them off. I really like Shadgard though, even though it is cold there. But yeah, having a blast.

Ok, let me try to explain this. You have script hook V, this is the main scripthook without which, no mods would work. Then you have lua scripthook, there are actually 2 that I know of. Think of these as scripting engines, you knoe, like skyrim had dragon then it had SKSE, this is similar. Then you have DotNet. These scripthooks allow for mods coded in different languages to work with the game. Installing the DotNet scripthook is simple, all you need to do is extract it out to a temp folder then copy the DLLs to the install directory of GTAV, for most this would be c:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V. I actually discourage installing steam into c:\program files(x86), but, thats a whole other matter altogether. Then you need to make a scripts folder, spelled S, C, R, I, P, T, s, in all lower case. Then, all mods that use the DotNet go in that scripts folder. Now, heres where things get a bit confusing. First off, you will need the .NET 4.5 framewor
 k, then you will need the Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Redistributable packages, both x86 and x64. If you have that, drop mods into the scripts folder and you will be good to go. Now, let me explain about the lua script hooks. One of them comes with a scripts folder, and there are some scripts in there. Mods for that lua folder go in scripts\addons, however, if you have DotNet mods, it simply goes in scripts, dont worry, it actually does work. However, if you have a mod that needs the GTALua, then there will be a GTALua folder, and they will go in there. The way you can tell the mods apart is, normal lua script hooks have files called ModName.lua, but, GTALua scripts are called Main.LUA and are in their own folders. I mean the devs saying anything answering questions, the like. Hell, they werent even kind enough to look into your issue, and youre one of the top dogs on the forum so what does that say, even if they did it behind closed doors, youd think they would at least post an update saying we have a workaround or a fix for users of XP. Thats mainly what I was referring to, but I dont wanna duplicate another topic so Ill just end it there. I do enjoy the game, And as I said the voice acting is very good, and the music as well. Its really seemlessly transitioning all the time due to the elias engine. But they could have done the same thing for less if they just had normal music and speech synths as the voices of the people. Its an experience, Its just not a $24 experience. But then again, thats not their fault, They did provide a demo, which I played and enjoyed. It feels like a project that was disorganized and someone came out ov

It does work i got it on yesterday, sunday, and you do have to enable two options in the INI but there is now sound and it stops the menu from wrapping.

Dude, I dont see how GTA is *ever* going to run on a virtual machine. Ive heard the mac hardware isnice, but I really doubt this is gonna work for you. Could you not do boot camp where instead of running the VM inside OSX, you actually boot into windows, now, if you could do that, Im sure itd work for you.

Heh, the helo never made it to its destination, and it kind of autocrashed, hahahaha. but, at least it didnt just nose dive into the ground, it kind of hit at a moderate angle and hit the bottom part of the nose and fell back on its skids and slid a little.

Mostly its your GPU Laptops are gonna be unpredictable due to the way in which graphics chips are designed, for instance just because you have the same chip in a desktop, the laptop version may or may not be as good. I do think the game autoconfigures, certainly I should not be able to play it because my video card is not on the supported list but i can. Check the steam store page for more information, also I think they recommend 8GB of RAM.

Youre not robbed, the game will always be linked to your account, its just getting into your account. Back when I created my account, SteamGuard wasnt even a thing But maybe now it is active with a new account so yes, check your email as you will be needing that code when you sign in to steam, unfortunately this process is not accessible at all, so when you sign in with a correct password and username, you will be asked to give the code, it generates a new code each time, so at that point you should check your email and enter it in. I think the remember this computer is checed so you should be able to hit enter then enter again. However, you couldnt change it even if it wasnt via normal screen reader tab and stuff, youd need another way. Next part is accepting the user agreement, which you might be able to press enter on, after that youre in. Steam is very inaccessible so i cant tell you how to use it.All your games will alway
 s be associated with your account, so if you get a new computer, no problem, you can just re-download it, I have over 90 games I think.

@108 you need the DotNet script hook as well.@109 It would definitely be enough without the VM, if you boot camp it. You could try it inside a windows VM, but I am doubful of any good results.

This community is so screwed up at times where people think they have the right to actually hack into someones stuff, whether it be a game, someones site, whatever. @24 I completely agree, and, believe me, if it were up to me this person would be out the door so fast. You talk to people to try to persuade them, you discuss in a calm way the points of your argument, you do not hack into their accounts, anywhere. @Guilevi, my questions to you are, do you think youre the hero by doing this? Did you get a little rush when you created a little scare? and most importantly how does this make you better than Mason storing passwords in plain text. I dont really play these online games because of all the teeny bopper BS that goes on in and around them, and what you did could be construed as criminal action. For anyone who has used MUSHZ, its essentially MUSHClient with a bunch of triggers and aliases, and plugins, it still needs the MUSHReader plugin to work, so anyone who has used that, can jump into muchclient. Id recommend downloading the latest portable of mushclient and installing the plugins you want, its easy to use and you can make MUSHReader a global plugin, so it gets used for all worlds you have stored, or create.

A little extended information, muds are servers that run on either someones local machine, or on a dedicated server, or even a VPS does quite nicely. MUD stands for Multi-user dungeon and was back when DD was in its prime. Although muds can have nothing to do with fantasy and or magic, a lot of them do, however, there are plenty of sci fi muds. On windowsI would recommend MUSHClient, although you do need a plugin for it to read automatically. What you need to connect to a mud is its server IP and port. You plug these into your client so it knows where to connect. A MOO is like a mud but more extensive in the features it offers. A MUSH is another form, and instead of hack n slash, MUSHs focus on roleplay, although, of course you can have a roleplay enforced mud. What you want to do is to find a site that has a database of muds that you can look through to find the type of mud you want to play, www.mudconnect.com and www.topmudsites.com are two. Sorry, I was too lazy to create the links.

Well someone would need to make an addon for nvda to make it speak out the clipboard automatically bacause in the game nvda keystrokes are being intercepted by the game and thus, do not work. Also, guys, you need to realize this is a very resource intensive game so NVDA gets a bit sluggish while its open.

Dude, youve got it a bit confused, While GTA V does revisit San Andreas, they are two completely different games. So if you have GTA San Andreas, you dont have GTA V. A lot of the files in the GTA V installation are encrypted too so they are RPF files.

Ive got the demo until I can buy it this month, but like, jump around a lot, seriously, its the fastest way to move. Well, unless you get the speed drug.Try to solo the factory, since your guys tend to use their explosives rather than holding onto them. Use explosives at the prison. The first cells hold the weaker prisoners, while the further back ones hold stronger ones, but, theyre under heavier doors. When getting cash, if you need to solo it, go straight for the vaults, just keep jumping to the right, hopefully outrunning the po po, thus, you can get there in time to start breaking open the vaults before they get there. Hopefully, you can break open the first vault before they get there, or if not, then only a few of them get there. Tap space as fast as you can on the vaults and try not to move to break them open. Know when to leave a mission, for example, if the hospital is swarming with cops, then youll most likely be using most of the medkits you pick up, 
 just to stay in the fight, this is stupid. Get in there, and get as much as you can and get out before it becomes popo central. I cant wait till I can get enough to afford the full version, probably soon.

Well you gotta get your priorities figured out, you need more people, however you need cash to pay those people, and food to feed them. But, you also need weapons to give them and medkits to keep them healthy. Also, the luxury items like bombs, which make breaking down doors in the prison a hell of a lot easier, are in the factory. And Drugs, which can beef up your character or one or all of your minions are in the casino. What Id do is first get some cash from the bank, take a trip to the weapons shop, then take a trip to the factory, then, get to the prison to get people out.You might also pick up knives up by killing cops so you may not need to visit the weapons shop. Like I said above, the quickest way to get places is constantly jumping, so be quick about these first couple of places. If you get people in the prison in the first doors, they are waek, and further in, they are i think either your level or the level of your highest char.Once you get em, you gotta keep em. 
 Make sure you pay them after each mission, check their loyalty. The best bit of audio I can recommend is PG13s lets play of it, its an archive of a 5 hour stream. go to www.pg13.tk and then scroll down to where it says strike your psyche. Youll hear background of one of their streams low in your ears, click on the episode first then move by heading level 2 until you hear something like complementary landmark, PG13 radio, go down and you should land on the pause button, hit enter on that to stop it, then control home to the top and go down to the player and hit enter on that play button. There are two players on the page, well actually more but just go to strike your Psyche and listen to that.

I think part of this whole anger and complaining thing is that we all get to know each other in one way or the other, so you do what you gotta do throughout the day then you get on the forums, and you run into the same people the same things over and over, and like an itch, someones tonality, attitude or whatever can start to rankle, and you have a couple of these people, then you just kind of get angry and feel like you have to complain or let loose, I dont know, thats my explanation, theres always that drama. Then you have the person on the other end who may not like your attitude, something you said, so it goes both ways. Then, you run into character flaws in people which further go on to exacerbate the situation. For example, One of my main flaws is an inability to forgive, and holding a grudge, i know, intellectually, that this makes no sense to hold something over someones head that might have happened 10 or 15 years ago, this is one of the reas
 ons why me and my mother still, to this very day, fight a lot sometimes. Stubbornness is another one, well, at least I can trace that one, it comes from my mother, and my grandpa, heh. Well, you try to work on them but its not easy, stubbornness means that you either dont like to change or fear change, another flaw in me, it flows like a stream downhill, maybe a lake or a pool that starts at the top of a mountain carves a river bed that meanders down and down and creates estuaries that fork off which create more streams or little channels, well that main river, its destined to flow all the way to the ocean so one or two major character flaws can spawn other ones that are directly related. Its inconceivable for me to forget the past and move on, the past is always with you, the past is where youve taken form, as it were, the past is where you have been and have done or witnessed the things you have to make you the person today. Certain genes can predispose som
 eone to psychological issues, but maybe they might never experience them, or, maybe something in their past combined with that predisposition, can create a host of mental issues.Well that was a long post, so yeah, wrapping up in 3, 2, 1, boom!

wee! finally, fina friggin lee! Im glad to know others are taking up this amazing game. I love it, I was even gonna stream it too but i didnt really think it would draw people in since its like mainstream and accessibility isnt all that good. I wonder which trainer dev wants to help with accessibility, I asked in the comments of PCTrainer by jetijosh but never really checked back. There is a lot going on in the trainer and it would be nice if someone did put hotkeys in, the one thing, all the trainers and stuff are ASI scripts, from what I can tell, basically DLLs that can be made to function as a script, I do have visual studio 2013 express but it cannot open them and opening them in notepad just yields gibberish so it must be compiled to like bytecode or machine language, not interpreted like python where you can edit it. There are also other scripthook mods, all needing the main one though, but you can, for example, make lua mods, you would still need to read 
 and understand the GTA V native functions, so knowing how to code isnt enough in that instance. There is also a dot net plugin.Its so freakin awesome, GTA V has become one of my favorite games, so its cool to see others playing it too.As for SLJs question, yes ,first person can be triggered on PS4, I think you press the touchpad down, i used to play the game on PS4, but i dont have a copy anymore to verify, Im pretty sure thats what you need to do , trouble is, doing so cycles all the views, so youd have to try to find out somehow if youre in FP or not and keep pressing down the touchpad until you get there, just to be clear, presssing down the touchpad means putting your finger on it until you feel it click down, not just touching it. If youre on PS4 you can use the touchpad also to navigate the map. The map is not really accessible though so, bleh, Modding console games is a thing, however I didnt check into
  modding the PS4 copy of GTA V as modding console games is not something Ive ever attempted and its a more complicated drawn out process than modding PC games.Would you guys like it if I streamed GTA V, going around blowing shit up, getting into fights with the po po and stuff! Id really like to do that.
