In version 1.01, at least, theres a weird bug where the game doesnt close after credits, and you just stay in this really small screen with nothing on it. You can use the control key anywhere, you can fly, you can use shield, but theres really nothing

Sounds like you're both running up against max int (2147483647) related issues. You can have it happen with any number, not just gold. Troops, battle score, lands, etc.
