I'm not sure jaws has that functionality. I wish it did. There's a built-in function called CopyToClipboard. This allows you to copy all sorts of info to the clipboard, not just selected text. I just don't think jaws stores last spoken text in memory,

Yeah, this happens to me using jaws. I've found pressing enter on the comment box a second time puts the cursor in the box so you can type, but it also adds a blank line that you can backspace to delete if you like. Hope this helps. Don't know why it doesn't

I don't know how you normally turn on screen shade, but if it has a keyboard shortcut assigned to it, I suppose you could put it in the AutoStartEvent in the default script, then it should trigger every time jaws runs.
