Been playing for the last week or so. the area seems huge. Did a few runs and shot a few things. Personally, I would love to have some good, screen reader useable, maps that I can use to have a pretty good layout of the areas. Like to get a armor truck with a few mounted weapons that I could use to blow a large area up if I so wish. I would not say no to a tank mind you. Would also like a few flame throwers, and one or two other weapons, mainly a few WMDs. The lag from time to time is aggravating at times though.

Thought you needed 500 points for the bulk freighter. If I remember right, there is a freighter around 30 points or so that has ok cargo space for salvaging. around 1 units if I recall correctly. Speaking of scaling, the lore computers are a bit dated if you think about it. Lets think for a sec... Are IPhones nows can read stuff aloud, has a built in camera, can do OCR, has built in tracking, built in messaging, and ETC. Add to that, most of the add-in cards that you can get for the lore can be done in software when it comes to the IPhone. You would also think that the comm units would be built into the lores wouldn't you think? It is my understanding that the staff wants people to leave their ship from time to time, which would explain why you would have to go leave your ship to  check your mail. On the other hand, why not email? I don't know to many people that mail a letter now days when email will work just fine. Matter of fact, I text people alot more than I email them now days. Of course, one would think that one could keep an eye on ship stats via the lore if one wishes to take the risk of connecting one's lore to ship's systems. And, what about video chatting? Oh yeh, they forgot about that too. ROFL. Just saying.

It made be to hard for aprone to program this in to swamp, but it would be interesting seeing a type of log out thing based off what is in the ready player one book. in the Ready player one book, that last place you wanted to log out was in a fight, because the whole log out process would leave your player opne to attack for about a minnet or something. I figure that having something like that would lead players of swamp to only log out in a safe zone, and maybe not cheeting in that way again. Just a thought and I doudt that we will see anything like that built in to swamp.

Spoilers ahead. So, be warned.Now that that is out of the way, I think I can give you a few good hints. First of all, where else can you find plants. What of the following would be good at telling what plant is what: a mage, a healer, a thief or ranger? Where can you find each of these people in the game and why? I will go on and break this down a little bit more. A healing is what a priest does over all. A priest may not be good at living off the land is it were per say. One can be found searching for something in the grave yard, but not for plants. A mage is someone who uses magic to defend themselves and to attack. Someone’s daughter is a mage and does not know how to live off the land. This means that they cannot help when it comes to plants. A thief is someone who takes what is not theirs and there forth can be found where there is gold. You seek them out when you need a lock picked. On the other hand, a ranger would know how to live off the land seeing that one can be found north of farhaven. One of the skills is knowing what plants can be ate, and what ones cannot if you desire to live off the land. I hope this helps.

Right now, I am down to two quests. They are "The Ties That Bind" and "Reunited". possible spoilers ahead.I have a good idea where to go looking next for the "The Ties That Bind" quest, but any ideas where I should go looking about when it comes to that letter  I found that started the "Reunited" quest. I found an unfinished letter that I am holding until I find the right person to hand it over to if that helps any. I have not found anyone in town that the letter goes to. So, I am assuming I search the mines for clews. I am also assuming that it is this quest that I will run into dragons while doing it. I could be wrong seeing that I did not let the thief in my party keep the ring that he stoll and seeing that I let someone over in the graveyard live. Yes, I was trying to be the good person all the way through. As for the "The Ties That Bind" quest, I know where I am going to go look to finish that one up. It was pretty clear from the start. As a side note, I had no trouble finding good gear for my waryor char seeing that stuff was just laying around for me to find. I also find it nice, in away, that I may be finishing up with a good bit of gold. I think I will try to multiclass the next time I play. Only problem there is figuring out how and what my next class should be.editWhen I used the wording " lord of the rings style", not only was I trying to have a bit of fun, but I was also referring to how I am ending the game. LOL. Sorry for not explaining myself. ROFL. To do the quest called lord of the rings stile, you just leave a number of quest unfinish until such time you finish the main quest of the game. You see, you want to have a few strings of side storys to finish up after the main one is done. Just think about how lord of the rings finished up and you will get the picture. ROFL. Ok ok ok, I thought I would have a little fun at phoenix1991's expense. ROFL. You are right there Joseph. Glad to see you got the reference. LOL. Let's just say that I cleared up far haven and have time to rome about a bit. Slit spoiler. If it was not for this topic, I would had been shocked by who was causing all the trouble. After all, they seemed so nice and all. I also enjoyed the dialog between all of my party after that got all finished up per say. Is it just me, or was glin mad when she found out the trooth. She clearly came off is mad to me. LOL. I can see how there can be a part two. LOL.

Spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.I just finished the "haunted by the past" quest and I liked it myself. I am not finished my first play through. I am taking my time. I chose to put the stone on the alter, and I chose earth. I really do not know how bad I messed up there. I have ran into some nasty things under far haven, so be where. I am also trying to decide which ones  I will take with me to finish the Pilgrims progress quest. I basically have to decide between the thief or the healer. I am using Liam’s stream to see how well I am doing after the fact. If I understand things, I may have messed up by making the thief give up the ring. Yes, I did not need him to find the location of what he was talking about, but let’s just say that no one is selling per say. Grant it, I had the thief in my party and he did get a telling off. LOL. It was something about being unreliable. Anyway, as for that love quest, try checking out the house near the north east guard tower. There should be a house that does not look like it belongs to anyone. You might want to check in the study of said house. There may be someone there that can point you to the right direction. Also, has anyone took glen over to see her father before finishing the game? If you haven’t I suggest you do so. That sort of proved entertaining. The guardian in the tree hits hard, but I got them down for the kill thankfully and I rushed out of there for other things too.Spoilers are now at an end.As everyone can see, (Did I just use the word see?) this game is really good. I have not known an audio game to be a gig in size before now and I do, sometimes find myself wondering how much of the audio within the game is compressed. I am assuming all of it to some degree. If that is the case, there is a lot of audio and it still sounds good.

As for using Pontes Media Downloader to grab Liam's playthroughs, trying getting one video at a time instead of the whole playlist. Do not know why but telling the program to get the whole playlist causes the program to crash on my end. Of course, YouTube could had changed things. If download and convert just one at a time does not work for you, I can upload the MP3s to my dropbox account for a short time, but I do not know when I will get around to that seeing this game has me a bit distracted to say the least. I got the check box check that says “download current file (prevent playlist downloading)”. Then I copy the URL to the video I want to the clipboard. Then I switch over to Pontes Media Downloader and tab over to the download Butten seeing that it has already grab the URL from the clipboard and the format is already set. I hope this helps. After I grabbed the eight movies that counted, I found myself with 1.27 Gigs of MP3s at 128kbps. With my current upload speeds, I could vary easily take up to a day to upload to dropbox. My upload speeds is around 1 megabit per sec here a lot of the time and sometimes it is slower.

First of all, let me say that I am among the latest to get a copy of this lovely game. The more I play it, the more I relize it scratches an itch of mine per say. From the best I can tell, there has not been a game quite like this before. I guess that this is the closest I will get to skyrim or what ever that elder scrolls game was called for awhile. First of all, I am going to buy this gam within a week or so. I am trying to weight until the servier hits lightens a bit. Second, I have not read all of this topic. I am trying to not get the spoilers until I am ready for them. From what I can tell, this is in the first person point of view. Am I wrong? I doudt it, but still. Now to my main question, is most of that gig audo or is there lots of graffics included? From what I can tell, the graffics are coming later. If the audio is compressed, there is a lot of audio. Then again, if the audio is not compress, the audio is going to be a lot better then any game I have played before. Guess I am off for now before I make my self look my crazy than I am.

Not too sure that I will play this one seeing that it does not seem my type. Anyway, I looked up where it was on get hub and saw that you can have a different size world from the default if you wish. So, my question is how big is the world? Is it bigger than other muds of this type, and how does the branches of this mud relate and are different from each other? Just wondering? On the other hand, the installation looks easy enough if you are used to Linux. I wonder what it would take to set a version up on my windows seven machine just so I can play around with it before enter that online mud itself. I just want to make sure I understand things before I enter a possible PVP world.

I think I have a suggest for the mud that may be a challenge to do. How hard will it be to sort of have a mud within a mud? That can be an odd way of putting it. I know that there was always things that could be done on the holodeck when it comes to star trek. I am not too sure what all of those are sense I have not really followed star trek all that much. Good show, but I just have not dug into it all that much. Anyway. You could possibly come up with some kind of fantasy and or steam punk kind of game thing that could be loaded into to the ship’s holodeck. I know that the holodeck as it is now is set up to mimic an environment that the user of said holodeck designs per say. You could set it up with mobs that attack if you want to add that feature in to it, but maybe have some kind of whole world within the holodeck to explore? I am not too sure if I am explaining it all that well, but I cannot help but to think that this idea might allow you to somehow bring the PVP arena a bit more into the IC parts of the game. For example, have your holodeck somehow become a part of the PVP arena where if you wish to join the arena, your ship will have to be landed on a planet within comm range and the player would have to type in something in the holodeck. Of course, why not allow your holodeck become a starship sim or something too? I know that this would take a lot of code and a lot of work to get right, but I just thought that if you wish to explore the fantasy side of things when it comes to muds, this could be a rout. This idea came to me while reading A book called “ready player one” Some like that book, and others do not, but within that book, you had games within the main game in that book and I just thought that the holodeck could be used more within game somehow. Anyway, if you pull that off, it would be an interesting time waster.

Sorry for the double posts. What does everyone think about the missions being harder now? Just wondering seeing that all of the vacus ships and the like have been boosted. Now days, I got to figure out how to destroy 10 mother ships in one go. my tactic of emping them while my railgun takes cares of all the ships in the sector is clearly not going to work, but I will figure that out via IC though.

Interesting. I am going to have to check some of those things out. Maybe I should do some exploring first and then maybe move my factory a bit farther out. Anyway, things to think about for sure. Those sectors were starting to seem a little close. Anyway, have you thought about coding in a range for the radios and tactical arrays yet? I am asking because I can see where if you get far enough out, you would lose contact with those that are closer in. Maybe the range could be about 3 out or something and maybe factories  with rift satellites could be used as a comm relay of sorts to relay radio signals back in to local sectors or something up to a point. Just a thought. I will have to write in a suggestion after playing a bit.

Sorry for the double post. Anyway, a bought a ship from a player ran starship store. I had the upgrades and the like on it. I deside to take the ship out today only to find that most of the defenses was gone along with all of the weapons and all of the upgrades that I bought for it. I thought about letting it destroy itself and getting a new one from my drydock if I was sure that would fix the problem. I am wondering something. could the designer of said ship take away all the weapons and stuff from a ship I already bought from them if they just submit the design without the weapons and the like? This seems like a major bug if you ask me

Waste land monsters helps some, but they are really not worth your time at the higher levels. I am over level 750, and I have a battle sute. So, to say that they are easy would be an understatement when I can take them down with one shot from my sute's weapon. Add the armor of a battle sute, you can see why waste land monsters are not really worth my time. For those who are suching for debris, I would suggest you to do a mission though. Now only do you get the credit of making things go boom, but you can also make use of the debris from that sector. I personly find that the mission in room 3A of Mission HQ gives me enough debris per mission to be worth my time and you can get the cargo barrels too.

I think the link can be found on the first post of this topic. On the other hand, I just tried out the battlesuit and found it interesting. Now if the ground crew of a ship needs to talk to each other and the ship they came from without having to put up with extra comm chatter, that would be extra nice. I could be over looking something here Anyway, the tactical array to the battle suit is a nice touch. If you do not know where I am talking about here when the who talking to each other and the ship thing, just think of star trek and the people they beamed to plannents from time to time.

Thanks for putting in that suggestion ironcross. As far as I can tell, you worded well if your post was anything to go by. It seems as if the higher the player base is over all, the harder and or mre unbalanced the lower end of the player base is making it harder for new players to level up well. speaking in whitch, I need to log in again in the next day or so. I wonder how the newest activity of ship recks will be for me... Guess I got to try some day.

Dark. I agreed that ships do need a bit of work done to them. Have you tried typing field as soon as you launch from the roid? That should pull you out of that field and allow you to adjust your autostop and other things in such away you do not enter any fields or the like on the way back to the beacon station. That may need a bit of carefull timing for you. Another thing, you do have a ship in your docking bay so that you can get yourself on to the beacon station to take care of that roid? I am not to sure if teleporting down would help in this case. As for weapons, ask on around on comms, there are weapons that you should beable to install your self. I just do not know the level of said weapon and you may not have access to them. Have you got the micro drones for your ship? I will have to go look to see at what level you get these, but these take hits for your ship and do need replacing from time to time, but they should buy you time to raise shields defense systems and cloke. A
 lso, you ever wonder why say david never done stars? I can tell you that there is of the reason of trying to figure out exzackly what the timing is before blowing up. After all, you got to set your course and hit the warp drive ASAP to live there.

Let's what I can answer for you dark. As for the doughnut, buy another from that man you got it from in the first time. Food gets old and disappear within game. Now for you upgrade question, get a factory. one of the rooms that you can add to a factory is a drydock. Drydocks allow you to save the profile of your ship. This means that you can reconstruct a replacement when ever you wish. I think that there are some factories within game that will do that job for you for a price if you wish. Drydocks also allow for rebuilding of rooms that have been touched by fire if needed. As for those astraroid fields, all I can tell you is to use the drones. Another note worth noting is that some factories will sell you weapons and the like to install on to your ship. You could say that if you see david Brooks around, you might find that he can be some what helpfull at the vary least.

I am not great with time based activities, but from what I read in the help file, the timing would make sense. Now if I can fine away in and out without diing. The only thing difference between 1.1 and 2.0 of vipmud is the location of the vipmud directory.  In short, you will be following steps one and two with the directory being under my documents instead of anywhere else. As for your direct question, yes you do put your soundpack directly into the vipmud folder. In the zip archive I got, this means that everything that is under the soundpack folder in the zip archive except the sync files goes directly into your vipmud folder while you answering yes to the prompts. The pack I have, has a sounds folder and a Cosmic Rage folder under a soundpack folder within the archive. Anyway, you want the sounds folder and the Cosmic Rage folder out of the pack and right in to your vipmud folder. HTH.

You need the sounds placed inte Cosmic Rage folder under sounds, and you need the scripts placed under the the Cosmic Rage folder. So, it will be sound\Cosmic Rage for sounds and Cosmic Rage for scripts. HTH. In the case of the blueprints, I better get me a huge frame made. I would like to build myself a yot of all things. I think a ship with sleeping rooms for a few of my friends plus sound proofing of the living compartments would make things interesting. A question for everyone else on here. What is the best way for someone at the rank of 769 to gain in levels. At this time, it takes alot of missions and or planetoids to gain a level. Then again, going after gas for about two or so hours seems to raze me about three levels. I would try stars if I knew that they were a good choice. The problem for me there, is figureing out the whole timeing thing. I know I want to get close enough that the grav of the sun is pulling on me, but I also want to pull equally in the other direction and have heat shields up.

O am sorry that vipmud stopped working on your PC Luciana. I think you might like some of the things that came about. dardar, I do not know about you, but the release of the Premium Miner prove to be worth while to me. It is making the collection of some of the resources I wish to collect alot easyer. Did I just say that? I guess that would be a a mistake on my part seeing that something will most likely happen to make it harder again, like maybe raise the amount of said resources required for some of the things I wish to make. I did buy a player made mod that I installed for this ship and cargo space I have makes the collection of minerals a bit easyer. I do find it interesting how each of the different players seemed to have worked themselves into a slot. Some sell one thing while others sell something else. It all seems to work out somehow and that is one thing I like about this mud. The power play like there is on other muds do not seem to be there or not all that bad. There i
 s even a place selling tacticle areys and someone else have been giving them away too. Plus the rift satelites and the weapons along with the different places to get drinks and food. I personally have been running some missions of late and sort of found them fun in away.

As for the creative bit, I am currently setting out sofas and the like to try to make my factory look like it could be upgraded to a star base or spacestation. Yes, I am trying to come up with a good RP area for pilots to come around and relax watching TV, spinning a wheel and playing dartboard. To say that I am laying out part of my factory for time wasters is a bit of a under statement. Now if I can get all of my descriptions wrote and in place, that would be a major plus. I am letting another player come up with the descriptions, but if they do not get done with them, I will have to find someone else to finish the job. Nothing aginst them of course. The funny thing is, they have a good idea of what kind of thing I am looking for when it comes to descriptions, but getting across the fact that I want others coming out asap just to have a look around and hang out is something I am hoping for... Anyway, I might deside to use the factory as a plot line, but I may deside not. It all 
 depends on rather or not I am planning on doing something crazy that requires me to have a base to run off to or not. LOL.

Nice from what I have seen. I have been watching from the side. I have also been handing out tacticle areys. Anyway, I have a suggestion or two when it comes to tacticle areys after I have been playing with it a little bit. I am wondering what the thoughts of others are on these suggestions. What have I missed.Now for my suggestion and or suggestions.Why not have ships with tacticle areys link those areys with a factory. Sort of giving each factory a bit of a fleet almost. Maybe each factory's owner may want to make sure that the sector of and in self is clear alonng with handleing debris runs and the likes.Also, why not allow aircraft get linked to shipsthat have tacticle areys. My think here is that pilots may wish to run fleets of these off of their ships. Then again, pilot may have someone launch aircraft from their ship and then launch to clearsector and or destract the fo while the aircraft come up from behind.You could also have tacticle alerts 
 sent to all ships with these installed if needed.Anyway, what have I missed?

I have a question. How do you move a Mutariansi ship that you bought when you do not have the correct upgrade? Putting on the spacesuit does not help you at all. For some reason, I thought a spacesuit would help you survive a Mutariansi ship, but I am clearly wrong.

367. I have an idea that could help out if the hosts will permit it. This might work for the short term. Would the hosts allow us to ask for painters over the comms and the like? Painters would be responsible for coming in and writing up descriptions for different rooms for those who, for whatever reason, are not good at writing descriptions. There could be an option on the info computer for known good  painters, as in people who are known for writing good descriptions. Of course, said people would have to be paid and will need access to the place in question. Of course, placing an ad might help in this case too.

Only other thing I would suggest is to upgrade your weapon range, but I am not to sure how good that would be for you seeing that you had problems with the combat drones. Last month or so, I took my heavy miner into a planetoid field to blow up a few planetoids only to limp back on warp to abattle station to repair a hull breach, a completely destroyed engine, and a completely destroyed landing gear. Now days, I take my star blazer out to planetoid fields simplely because of cloak and the weapons. Of course, that ship has good shields and good armor on it. I agree with you, some adjustment needs doing.

I know that when I hauled asteroids for the first time, it was roughly a month or two after the game went live. It was not a big deal at the time. My biggest guess was that they up the difficulty some sense then. I used to be able to enter a planetoid field and not have to worry about being shot at. Now days, I am shot at every time I entered. See if you can get your sensor range upgraded. Getting your shields and defensive armor upgraded as far as you can may also be useful, but get some combat drones seeing that they are clearly a must now. I totally forgot that the asteroid hauler has a drone bay. I suggest you use it. That should help out a bunch until you can get the better upgrades. You should launch the drones as soon as you enter the field sense you are getting shot at. You should also adjust the autostop thing so that it only stops for asteroid fields. That should help keep you out of unwanted fields. Trust me, there is some fields that you do not want to enter without he
 at shields. Anyway, get some combat drones as soon as you can. I do not know how much they will help, but they are about the best weapon the hauler has as far as I recall.

As for asteroids dark, you need to take care of a few things first. install blades and make them as long as you can. install the defensive armor upgrade to as high as you can. Do the same for your shields. Also, boost your weapon range to as high as you can plus you should throw in any weapons you can. Also, the fewer cargo bays you have the better. You see, the more cargo bays you have, the worse the ship attacks will be. I, myself, have found that hauling asteroids are not really worthwhile, but mining them can be. You really should be running in to less trouble with asteroids than planetoids, but that does not always happen, I guess. As for planetoids, I enjoy blowing them up myself for the simple reason of getting the points and the bricks. If you are going into mining, I have found that planetoids are worth more seeing that they have more to offer. That of in itself is another reason I really do not worry about asteroids. Of course, I have gotten into the habit of launching a
 ll of my mining drones on to a planetoid and leaving. I figure that within a few mins, I will have a lot more than I would have if I just sat there and used my ship to do the mining. As for the meteors, I have not really bothered. Just does not really seem worthwhile to me. You do got warp installed on your ship? As for blades themselves, you are talking about useful. All you do there is extend them and then you fly by any ship you wish to destroy at warp speed and watch the fun happen. Now warp, I have my warp skill maxed out. It takes me just a little over 7 mins from the planet in sector 5 to get to my factory at max warp and my factory is out in uninhabited space.

Does anyone have any good tips for doing star studies. I am a bit worry that I will not get my right course set and warp engaged before the star pulls me in. From what I understand, by reading the help files, time is short for getting things right. Then again, I have not done missions either. Yes, I blone up a few ships and got blueprints from them, but I might find it intereing to lead a mission or two. I got to where I am at by blow up lots and lots of planetoids. Of course, dragging my factory through a field put an end to that for awhile. As a side note, I should beable to make metal pannels for those who wish to build their own factory without killing lots of mobs on those planetoids.

Are factories made public when you buy them off of other players? I am trying to figure out why mine was public when i did not make it so. It's last owner had me aboard it to show me the factory before I bought it. Then they listed it for sell and sense I was there, I bought it. This other player had to dock to it before I bought it because of the public docking was not enabled. Just trying to make sure I have a full understanding how this works before I start complaining. if the fact that it went public when it went up for sell, then I really should not complain. I basicly do not want any other player aboard until I am done building it yes, I found out that it was public the hard way. Yes, I should had most likely check the settings afterwards, but I did not seeing that I thought they were set one way which they clearly was not. Big oops on my part.

I can think at least one other use for shuttles. Think about those asteroids that you haul in from deep space to a beacon station. A shuttle is really usefull for you to go down to the beacon station to tether the roid to the station. After all, you can't land a ship that is tied to a roid. In short. shuttles are good for short hops in space. they can be replaced for a cheeper price than pretty much any other ship out there. I have two of them my self. One is placed in the docking bay of my asteroid hauler and the other is placed in the blazing star I have.

I really don't want to replay all those levels yet again. Wish i could submit my logs of the last few days and have myself put back the way I was before the crash. This database crashing and lost of data is sort of old. Now, as for transpertation, try using the teleporters at first. They can be a bit usefull at the beginning. If you wish instead to catch a transport, then the place to look for is different for different locations. space stations and factories, you are looking for access tubes. on planets, there is usually a landing pad or something. Did you try the LP command? Yes, it is a major challenge for new players. Also, yes, it may be time to work on those bugs a bit. As for the driver's license, you will have to go to the research center or station or what ever that is call. The teleporter can get you there. one of the rooms there should help you get what you need. As for the creation process, I agreed. It would be nice if I can walk back and forth through the r
 ooms until I get my description and stuff right. There other muds out there that seem to be a bit mor forgiving when it comes to the resetting too. The fat thing hasn't really bugged me. True, it is not all that funny after the first time or two, but it is not the one thing that would drive me away. It can see how it may turn some away.As for clothing, it I am not to sure where to tell you to go for some if I do know your race. Anyway, the only place I bought any was on earth. As for the players not having much time for you, sorry about that. Give david brooks in the game a shout out if you wish and I will see what I can do. True, some are more social than others. I would have thought that the newbie channel was to ask those questions that you did not know how to ask even though there is an IC way of asking.

From what I am reading, it is around getting a refund. That may not be the only problem, but that sort of makes it sounds like it is running a bit short when it comes to money. Be sure that the course you set doesn't take you through fields that you don't want to go through seeing that some fields require heat shields. asteroid and planetoid fields does not, but...

I am not going to say I fully understand this. I may not understand it at all. From what I understand, part of it is based on how well people think businesses are doing. How much of a part I am not so sure. That is most likely how it works for all I know. I always thought that another part was how well the business was doing. Of course, I may be getting the stock market confused with how company shares work. So, your way may really represent how things really are.

I have the soundpack you came out with your moo per say. Least ways, I grabbed the one linked to when I signed up for this moo. Is there a newer one sense then? From how the stock system works within game, it doesn't seem completely real from reading the description, but there are more pilots than the player base. So of course, that has to be taken into account when this was created.
