Re: Humans vs robots, public beta released!

Hey all,Interestingly I thought that this game went dark, as I was unable to connect for a week, week and a half at best. But it most certainly isn't, as I'm logged in haha.I'll recheck the article for windows defender to make sure that I'm doing all of it correctly, but for me, it keeps removing my exclusions with every major win10 update. Or maybe it's a virus scan. Or maybe it's both. I have no clue any more haha.

Re: Humans vs robots, public beta released!

Hey all,Like I say, microsofts antivirus software just deletes the .exe file with no questions asked. I can try turning it off, but from what I was told, defender will eventually turn back on again, then delete the file at the drop of a penny. I also saw that the tweeks no longer work like they used to in windows8, 8.1 and earlier versions of win10. I'll research this more, maybe there's another way of purminently disabling defender.Best regards,Rob

Hey all,Here's the latest version.https://www.dropbox.com/s/xjuqsbkvl426y68/hvr.zip?dl=1If I'm asked to take this down, I'll take it down. Please note that I'm unsure if this contains all of the latest cliant, soundpack and map updates. This might just be the game. If so, click check for updates and say yes to anything that needs updating. It shouldn't take that long. Also, for windows10 users, unfortunately, despite adding acceptions in windows firewal and defender, defender still found a false possitive, then shredded the game from any existance on my so called top notch laptop. It always states that it found something like, h furury.exe. same with other games as well.To this day I still haven't been able to place the game back onto my harddrive, as with eatch time I run it, it finds the same thing, then shreds it.I have no clue what to do th
ere.Well, if it does work for you with no windows10 falseness, enjoy the game!Best regards,Rob

Re: I am back, and so is Tomb Hunter

Mason this is really good.Playing beta 4.1 now.I agree with SLJ. I'm also asking the same question, what can we do to keep you motivated? But I do love the idea of releasing the game with dlc levels created by you, along with user created levels. this way you along with anyone else who wishes to create levels could do this on there own time, without worrying about an unfinished product. In this way, the game could become virtually endless.I've saw you at this mason, you can do this if you wish. However, I'm wondering about the end cutseen of the game? Where would it go into? The end of the game without any dlc, or would it be included in the last piece of dlc?But that is a really good idea. If you could do the dlc thing, that would be cool.I also have a question about this beta.I notice that the footsteps sound interesting, I think that the walking sounds, along with the ledge/hazard boundry sounds are pitched up when ru
nning.Could this be a bug or is this intentional?Keep up the good work, you're doing an amazing job here.Best regards.

Hey Maicen and all,Well, I expect a game like this to take rather long to develop.I honestly think that 4 months at the very least, and 8 months at the very best is a good timeframe for development. I think that that's really good, especially if you're working on your ownIf you think that you can get it out sooner, all that you can do is to try your best. Perhaps if you wish to do so, you could have another dev work on the project with you?Take mainstream games such as GTA5.that game took years to develop. And even when it came out, it had some major bugs and flaws which were eventually fixed in later releases, for example, the xbox one s and ps4 release. And rockstar has entire crues that work on the project.Unfortunately, the bugs and issues still remain in the xbox 360 release. The enicial game was rushed out do to demand. So definitely take as much time with this project as you need, while doing your best to keep your dea
dlines in mind. And even if your final enicial release of the project does have any bugs or glitches that effect game play, the comunity will spot and report them.I'm definitely looking forward to more beta releases, and I'm interested to see what gets changed, implemented, etcetera with this project.Loving this game so far.I'll play it more tonight and I'll come back with a nice input post.best Regards.

Hey all,[[wow]], I should definitely be more active here. The 15 dollars is for pre-order with a nice perk. The 30 dollars is for the full price, after the pre-order period has ended and the full game has been released. If I'm understanding correctly, if you wish to pre-order, you can get access to the betas, rite until the full game is released. You only pay the one time. But [[wow]] Maicen, this is just, amazing.A game like this definitely has to be payed.Personally, I definitely wouldn't mind paying full price for this game. I do love the pre-ordder method though as well, it gives others who are not able to pay for the game in full, a chance to own the game, then play the betas to boot.Keep up the good work bro, big props as always.

I figured that it was the game engine not liking the 3d ambience sounds which was causing the crashes and things, as the old version crashed when I'd get near the ambience, for example, a waterfall. But back to the link, I wonder what's up with that?

at Dalen Lewin,[[wow]]. Your suggestions remind me of the Tru Crime video game Series. I've always wished to see an audiogame like Tru Cryme, and your suggestions fit perfectly. I'd love to see all suggestions, especially yours and mine which is below, implamented into this project. But at kianoosh shakeri,I do have a suggestion related to Dalen's, which is definitely enspired by Tru Crime. If possible, you could also implament little dispatch side missions, or as tru crime calls it, street missions. These are seperit from the actual game plot missions. Basicly, a dispatcher comes at you with these street missions all in a random order. So for example, you would here something like, Attention all units. Sitizens Report an asult with a deadly weapon at so and so location. Male stabbed bartender with a butcher knife. Please respond imedietly.you then have a certain amount of time to get there, and properly take care of the situation. In tru
crime, a timer is usually displayed on the screen, but in this sinerrio, you would press a letter, t or r, to check your remaining time. There's also what is called a comp stat map, which shows the player where the missions are, but this can be acomidated by 2 letters which will anounce your current missions and where they are located, either street or game plot, depending on which mission you're after. But these street missions, along with the game plot missions, if carried out correctly, will earn you the good cop points. If carried out dirty, you will either 1, lose bad cop points, or 2, if your point counter is at 0, you can possibly go into neggitive numbers, which would then make it harder for the player to complete missions that may require a certain number of good cop points. For example, if you have 4 good cop points, and if the next reached game plot mission requires 8 points, 1 or 2 of the street missions will do the trick, just as long as you do them prop
erly. In a game plot mission, you can distribute the good cop points in 1 of 2 methods. Method 1, you get a number of points after eatch mission, based on how well that you have completed the mission.Method 2. you could arrange it so that after a certain number of game plot missions, you then receive your good cop points, based on how well that you have completed the 4 missions. For example, after 4 missions, you get your final result. You could even redo the missions to gain more points, along with other items, weather it be ammo, health etcetera. As for dieing in your missions.you don't lose any points, but they do get reset. Say if you gain 30 good cop points in a game plot mission, and if you die, your point counter will reset back to what you had prier to starting the mission. Same for the street missions. As for making it to your missions. If you don't make it to any of the street missions, you don't lose or gain any points. But no wor
ries, the streets are full of heet. another call will hit your radio very quickly. As for the game plot missions, you can do it the same as the street missions, or you could make the game plot missions time sensitive as well. However, making the game plot missions time sensitive would defeat the purpose of the street aspect of the game, as things would get too complicated. If you are able to place any part of this or any of the suggestions listed here into lucky cop, I will be more than happy to create and professionally record your dispatch lines for you, along with anything else that you may require. Please keep up the amazing work with this project. I even tryed clearing out my sm studios folder as I thought that that may be the issue, but that didn't work as well.I'll have to see if it works on the studio computer, which runs win7 when I'm there. If I still get the same issue on that computer, something may be wrong with the speedhack detection system. Although not many seam to be having this much trouble with it as I am.

However, I'm unsure if it's my system or something else, but after updating, I noticed that the water, ennemie and possibly some other sounds don't pan, while pits and spikes do. This does make things a bit more dificult as mono isn't usually used in audiogames. Was this meant to occur with the update, or could this be some other bug that came from fixing the crash and other bugs? I don't think any changelog was included. Thanks and definitely let me know what's up with this.Rob

hey All,Steve, I love that idea. I was thinking about this all last night and I wouldn't mind if the game is free. The way I see it, is that the money spent on sbp maybe bought mason and possibly his family a nice meal. Or maybe something else, like clothing, toiletries or money for the sight, server etcetera. I also did purchase the game around the holidays, so I figured that since I had no one to shop for at that time, I bought the game both to give mason alittle donation/gift and for my personal chear and enjoyment. I would definitely vote yes on making it free for now. If it's possible, it can definitely be free for now, but then once you make it payyed you could allow everyone who payed for the registered version to reregister again. Thanks for Reading,Rob

Hello,at Roro, thanks for clearing up the updating. Having an amazing time playing this game. I do have one small question, how to use the shops? I have so many coins and I need to get some good stuff haha, I think that the coins can be used in some type of shop?At Yukio, your game is totally fantastic. So much gameplay/content, this is unlike anything I've saw/played yet. I remember first playing it and I quickly realised that this isn't just another game that you could play through in a few hours. It took me hours of playing, and figuring out this game, and once I figured things out, it's so fantastic, cool, amazing, etcetera. Keep up the incredible work man! Thanks for reading,Rob

Hey Mason, I was going to ask you for a refund because of the discontinuation. But now you say you're continuing. That's great, it truly is. But even I don't know what may come in the future for sbp so I'm conflicted. I just don't want this to become something that I regrette paying 5 dollars for and I'm sure that many can and may definitely agree here. I'm also putting myself out there to assist you in any way that I can. voices, sounds etcetera. I can't code, but anything else I'll do and try my best at. I want to see this become huge my man, and I don't ever, want or wish to see this discontinued. I also don't like seeing you beating yourself up just because you may be stressed at a project like this. Bud, you bring many players many joyfull hours of shooting killing amazing, awesome tasstic fun! . But I do know that it's
tough at times. Just try not to let the stress get to you man. But this game, as well as every other game created out there, is like a book. But the book can be played. And at the end of the day when we go home, all of us can relax and enjoy that amazing endless book, whatever it may be.thanks for Reading,Rob

[[wow]] this thingy got long, haha At Colton, man that rite there is truly a great post. I understood all of it, and I can promise you that I can definitely fully understand the emotions of stress, saddness, anger etcetera. I deal with it loads and I have so many ways and things of getting passed those emotions. I know what game and software developers go through all the time, it is a stressfull process, especially if your team is verry few, or if you're a 1 person team doing it all. I sit and chill/chat with indeviduals on skype sometimes who's objective is to code the first starter draft of a game, and they have been doing it for the entire day, and they're only half done with the movement system. And it's 11:30 eastern time. And yes, they are stressed, angry, sad/upset, or maybe all 4 and then some by the verry end of the day. But that isn't the only
reason why they feel like that. Who knows what else is causing those bad emotions. But I liked your analogy of losing a loved one. Making the indevidual feel even worse at that point isn't the proper/good thing to do. That verry same analogy can be used for this situation as well. However, I can see where players who have purchased the online version would become alittle upset/frustrated. I'll admit, when I read that the game was discontinued, I did feel just that, frustrated and alittle upset some. but I read further and found out that Mason had stepped back and chilled some, then came to the decision that he was going to keep the project going. I do have to agree with the post about making it free, but for the moment. Yes, I would make this project free to play if you do intend to keep online gameplay running at the current time if possible, but then in the future once you know that things truly are going in a right solid good direction, you can make it payed if you wish
, and only if you know for sure that this will stay around.Like stated in my previous post. Mason, I would hate to see this project go down. I know you got what it takes, the power, and the fantastic skills at your fingertips. I definitely hope to see more from you and Scrolling Battles Pro in the near future and beyond.I support you all the time. I know You got this bud!thanks for reading,Rob

Instead, it clears the registration data,, which makes it impossible to unregister properly to increase your remaining computers. Re: Scrolling Battles Pro

Hello,No, that clearing method doesn't work, tryed it on xp and 7 and the data is still there. Which is interesting because the issue was/is supposedly fixed. I just wish that I new where this data in particular is so that I can clear it manualy, as eventually it may become corrupted after a certain point. There's also still lag for me on windows7, and there seams to be some sound clipping when playing on both operating systems. Speed boosts don't seam to do much on 7, but on xp I can run very fast. Perhaps it has to do with the Single Player AI? I do notice that lag gets worse when there's loads of ennemies in 1 area going at it. Maybe if number of ennemies can be set by the player, this may reduce some of the lag, and possibly the sound clipping. Other than that I don't/wouldn't have any other ideas or know how to reduce and or fix it on my end of things. I even cleared out my entire videos folder as it took up my entire harddrive and that did
n't fix much, as I thought/figured that factors of the game may depend on available harddrive space.but definitely keep up the good work Mason and nS, you guys definitely have some project Masterpiece here, and I love contributing my bug reports and things to make for an even more amazing project haha !thanks for reading,Rob

Hello Mason and all,I have some bugs to report.I'm unsure if any other players are experiencing any of these bugs/issues.I have been playing on 2 machines, windows7 and windowsXP, and I notice some bugs, all are very similar when playing on the 2 operating systems. On both 7 and xp, sounds fail to play properly and or not at all after a short amount of time playing. this causes the game and both Screan Reader, in this case NVDA, and or Sapi to freeze, crash and stop funtioning when the sound bug occurs on both opperating systems. Unsure if forcing Sapi would keep Sapi from crashing. On XP, I seam to be able to walk much faster than on 7. There's still some lag on both operating systems, but most noticeable on windows7.If there's anything that I can do to work around these issues and or make things run smoother until next release, please definitely let me know.Thank you for reading,Rob
