Not sure there are that many firewall issues. There seems to be one issue with quad9 DNS for name resolution and another issue where extraction doesn't work in conditions that are still unknown to me. I'll take a look

Just tried on another computer, When pressing Update, it asked me to download a Windows feature (.NET Framework 3.5, I chose to install it), then the app closed. Relaunching the app, repressing Update worked.

If yes, try to put the app on your hard drive and try to update to see if that is the issue. If it is, I can change the update logic to extract it temporarily on the hard drive, before putting the extracted file back

There is no shortcut, if the app is able to lookup the most recent version from the site, it will display an update dialog when you launch it. If that helps, here is a direct download link for version 0.97.1:

can't you just use the forgot password flow from the site? Then to be sure after password reset, you can delete the token.rt file in UserConfig and relaunch the app.

I would think that signing in with Google would be the same thing, not sure why you are having issues. Can you go to reddit.com and sign in? After that, can you create new posts?

Yes, but the updater package I'm using makes a web call to fetch the file and crashes with whatever properties my cloud storage sets as default. That updater package is open-source, I've debugged it before to figure out

Maybe you are referring to the sound played when a post/comment has replies? It's a short click sound. You can find it in UserConfig\Sounds\Sound_Expandable.wav. Go open that file and see if it's that. If you don't like

Yeah, that is a good point. Right now, when you press up/down, it doesn't make a lot of calls, I'm able to cache quite a bit of items. Right arrow, reply, voting all cause api calls. I'll see if I can make this better.
