Im more likely to call bull than believe in empathetics, energy healing, and auras. I do consider myself spiritual rather than religious.I think energy work has much to do with the sender and the receivers state of mind. I dont believe you can cure cancer or heal bones with energy/prayer, but I have felt the flow of energy during quantum touch. It was more than the warmth of the other persons hand; the heat was greater than that. There was a hard to describe sensation, almost like tingling, but nothing I could feel on my skin, more a faint, barely perceptible thing. If the receiver isnt open to the energy, nothing will happen. Call it placebo, call it dumbing yourself into believeing something, whatever you like. But I think the mind is a powerful tool.I also believe that with t raining in the arts, it is possible to sense energies around us that we normally dont perceive. Its the same kind of thing with blindness and hearing. We hear better because we dont have to pay attention to the information from our eyes. We didnt just gain a superpower. IF you meditate your mind into a state somewhere deeper than the surface we all live on, you experience things you normally dont. Ive also experienced a tiny bit of this first hand.I also dont think all spirits are hostile or bad. I would be afraid to mess with anything like that, not because I think the devils gonna jump up and eat me, but just because were so small and ignorant of whats out there, and ignorance is dangerous. Maybe spirits arent real, and Ouija boards are just toys. But you dont know, and thats the scary part, to me. Re: Am I feeling chi or... I do have something similar, but not the same I believe. I can induce some electric current-like energy in my body. I havent found any use for it till yet, but its like...when you keep an arm in the same position for some time and it feels like needles? its like that, just milder and not painful in the least. I cant describe it. I dont know about meditating, though I can feel it if I stay still for a long time, more if im lying down on a bed. It appears to generate between my neck and chest, though as I said I havent found anything to use it for. I wouldnt believe this to be chi, because I can generate chi too as an invisible pressure between my hands. Its mre of a thin line than a ball. Its light and heat-I cant really describe it. I tried meditation etc years ago, but I just havent researched more yet because of time constraints. Maybe I look into it when I complete exams this month. It feels like something is in front of my face, don’t know weather there’s any “Special cells” (sorry for the bad description) on my face. I try to prevent my ears from hearing by blocking both with my hands or by putting on headphones and listening to music, and I experience that feeling again. I go close to the door and do this. Yeah I tried it last night when this topic was posted. I felt the door or an object near my face I even walked around the house, and I could feel walls. I can’t say I saw them. I was not born blind. I fell on an accident when I was just one year and a half. Exactly it was 1997.As about spirits, I don’t know weather I ever felt a spirit in my room, or somebody else was in the same room when I was alone there. Anyway, One night while I suddenly woke up, I heard like someone was running on my corridor, drawers being opened and closed quickly, doors as well. I’m sure about what I’m saying. Re: Am I feeling chi or... this is a very interesting discussion and I will add my oppinions too. first I have to say that I had quite a few out of body experiences, Ive learned how to induce them. i always feel chi when i meditate, usually after 5 or 10 minutes my whole body begins vibrating like a river of energy is flowing through me. this is a very intense sensation and its nothing that can be explained through science. i do think that chi exists and Ive proven it to myself and thats enough for me. Ive never tried to control this energy but you just gave me something new to try next time when i will meditate. also Im interested in what techniques do you guys use for meditating and controlling chi? I also think that what afrim is talking about is echolocation. because i can do that too and i know what Im talking about. afrim this can actually be improved by making a special click sound with your tongue, this will help you to identify more accurately t he shape and the height of an object. sometimes i can even identify the composition of an object by how the sound reflects of it. Re: Am I feeling chi or... The only reason I say it isnt Chi is because I can do the same... and Ive taken worshops on the subject, and this is how echolocation works. It feels like an increased density in space, like a presence that you can all of a sudden just tell is there... and if Chi is a life force, that would imply it exists in inanimate objects or even empty space, which Im not so sure about. Im not criticizing anyone here, and am perfectly aware that not everyone holds my views on this subject. Just wanted to contribute a little to the discussion. Chi is definitely an interesting topic, especially as someone who has been into martial arts and the like since I was young, and especially being interested in arts like Aikido which have a lot to do with energy and life force as part of the grappling system. When I was younger, I used to sense things around me all the time; cars, pe ople, empty doorways or spaces, fences, tree,s you name it... and had no idea what it was for the longest time until someone told me it was echolocation. I was just saying that the actual Chinese word chi can mean many different things. Energy does exist, and what a lot of Asian martial arts refer to as Chi is normally due to kinetic energy and an understanding of opposing forces. I would not discourage science, and I think many religious people who do are incorrect... as science and faith, at least with Christianity, actually go together much better than they do trying to stand alone. And the problem with experiences as those that you mentioned is that there is no objective way to prove them... I dont disbelieve you, as Ive had spiritual experiences myself, just none with chi. I never did disbelieve science; I didnt say blood is something God create to sustain us; I say its a substance that transfers other substances in our body and we need it to stay alive because we need oxygen, all our cells do. I just dont want a scientific viewpoint because I already knew almost what scientists are about to say so I prefer another, non-scientific viewpoint. Like I said there are a lot of unexplainable things in the world. If you ever saw some mysterious things youll know; yes, some are fake tricks (fake water-bending by using a small thin string with a cup hanging there, and the string being as thin as it is its almost invisible to most... or firebending simply by cloaking your hand in bubble and holding the fire...) but some are real (what, how did they survive on a bed with nails? Of course they could with tricks, but what if they arent?). Those are unexplainable to most and definitely undoable by most normal people.Spiritual experie nces? I have those too, even those unrelated to chi. Like calming people simply by meditating (Well I tried spiritually reaching to them and so yeah), sensing spirits (again that might be because spirits are made of chi or they have some residue of chi on them), out of body experiences (no not really, just the feeling you got, it felt like your spirit is floating around without you actually dying), spiritual dreams (seeing my ancestors, gods, or even having a curse removed by god and feeling better the next day...) etc. So I do believe the ycompliment each other, just not completely. There isnt proof that this is real yet we experienced it. Similar to chi, it isnt proven whether it is real, but many did experience it and use it (heck, I went to chi gong together with a few others, the master was attempting to chi heal me, he said that we should see colours and feel warmth, one of the other person did and the others didnt, and I also did, god that intensity). And I do believe it works... only to an extent though;if it did fully my eyes wouldve completely healed rather than this. My family even said once that I might be able to see chi because I saw it when I was young. Finally a great discussion!Well I’m not sure what the Chi exactly means, so I looked it up on the dictionary.Again I can’t exactly understand it, but following this discussion, I can create an opinion on what it is, although I can’t explain it.It sounds a little strange indeed what you’re saying like feeling somebody’s heat or opinions or whatever you mentioned and so far I haven’t come across with it, but I’m sure I got some strange “Senses”For example, I can feel a person when getting closer; I think other do feel it as well, but I can feel it when they are not so close. I feel like a “Shadow” coming closer and closer untill I speek to him or her. I don’t hear that person walking, no, I don’t feel him or her, but I feel it coming to me. For example, I work with my laptop at my school, and once my English teacher came to see what I was doing. While she was about a meter away from me, I stopped working on my Laptop, and she wandered why I was doing that. She said, go on, why did you stop?Also, when rarely I want to cheat on any test, again, it happens rarely, I make sure where the teacher is, I can locate almost exactly where the teacher is, then I do what I need to do. Another example: when I walk on the street, there are some big houses which have big gates. The point is, I can feel the space between the door and the road, and I can go, right there.Another similar case occurs with cars. Once, I was walking with my best friend close to the school. He is not blind, and I felt like there were a blocked space over there. A car was parked, and I could feel it. I asked him right away: Who’s got that car?He got stunned saying, what the heck? Can you see it?Another interesting example, at least for me, I don’t know how did it happen, although I did it myself. We were sitting somewhere out of the school, and some guys were playing basketball. Suddenly, the ball was flying in front of me, very fast, and I felt it when it came very close. It would hit my head, but I moved it, and the ball crashed onto the wall. I don’t know why I did it, but I’m sure I felt something.I am never sure where does this come from. But I assume that many blind people have some senses like these. When coming to the question why, the reason is theoretically very simple. Many people try to explain it like a miracle of god. God helps them, they used to say, but I think it’s very difficult to literally explain it. Although the science has advanced so much, they’re still unable to explain some phenomenon, like, why does a person get red into face when you yell at them? Or, why does the face “View” change when a person laughs.Anyway these are somewhat different from what were we discussing, but it’s highly interesting to know about them. It meant lifeforce or simply energy around us.Thats interesting... and I know some others that could do like you did. Though I dunno whether what you feeling (the person one, not the basketball or the car) is chi or not, though. Many say Chi feels different for different people and that might be the case.Im not feeling somebodys heat, it just felt like something warm is flowing out of them (well some people say it as aura but I dunno whether its the same thing... oh well). Some say theyre around all objects in the universe, others say lifeforce (I do believe, the energy around objects is aura, rather?). Well anyway do anyone know how I could interpret colours as red or blue or green or whatever despite having not seen them in real life? Since Im born blind... I shouldnt have seen colours unless I had memories of the past... though thats unlikely. I can only see light despite having no eyes (yes my eyes are blank... and I didnt sense the hea t; since what I saw are lights on the road from the window in my room and my parents confirmed it saying its the light on the road)... My parents do believe what Im seeing is Chi, and why other people cant see it is because my perception is stronger. Other family members say that this is psychical (supernatural rather) and asked me to inveestigate further... Oh well thsi is starting to get confusing.and also why didnt I sense this sorta energy eralier? I only started to notice it nowadays though Ive started sensing it on 2014. I dont know thats chi then, and I dont think my family members would believe me and so I just dont mind it. It went away for a while before recently I remembered the sensation I had when I went to chi gong earlier and also started to understand the similarities of what I sense and what I experienced. Re: Am I feeling chi or... Afrim, what you are describing sounds to me like the result of echo location, not chi. Chi in chinese isnt specific to life force, it simply means energy, but the way kenzon yeo defined it is more popular understanding of the word. All those experiences youve had, with being able to tell when people are near and when cars are close without hearing them, are part of the process... and is actually not a feeling, but something you can hear, because of sound waves and their movement patterns. As for my own personal experience with chi... I havent had any. Partially because I havent ever experienced it so dont believe in it, though Im open to the idea.. but also in part due to being a Christian, I have no need for ieas such as Chi, though again that doesnt mean I hate it. Spirits though... are most certainly another discussion, and things to be very, very careful with when dealing with them. In fact, I would say the best solution is to av oid them altogether... and I definitely believe those exist, both in my own limitted experience, and things Ive heard from others. On a slight off topic note, I dont know, but eSpeak butchers this, it should be pronounced spay sheal but it says spash ill.Anyhow, back to the discussion, it could be a different form of chi, as in a way something is being sensed there, Ive noticed it when walking near a large car and such, much like afrim. It is a very interesting and quite random feeling, and can be useful. However, I dont know if it comes under the category of chi, unless a car could, technically speaking, have a life force but wouldnt the cars life force only become active when the engine activates? With a basket ball moving as well there could be a fore there as well, its moving, but its moving through the air directed by the force of a throw. I thought life force would mean that someone or something has to be alive, or could life force mean more than that? When we get into souls and things , well, I find that quite fascinating. I definitely think that there is such thing as a soul, but as to what will happen to it, I have no idea. Also, spirits, I think they exist. In the past Ive had times where I feel like something or someone was watching me and no one was in the room. It seemed friendly, but I didnt really want to disturb it so I didnt approach it. That has not happened to me for a while, so Im wondering what happened to that being and I hope that it is still safe. I usually just listen to music relax whilst lying down, and aventually I will feel my hands but only my hands go tingly, then i can feel above my hands, and can move my spirit hands? in circle movements, so going over and over, like when youre swimming kind of.Or, if Im really lucky and having a good day, i get to have a nice ride on my bed. I mean it, the bed feeels like its moving. Forward... back... up forward... down, back... and round and round too, its quite awesome. I told some people how their chi (or at least I thought it is and some of you also do) colour is. For instance, I can see reddish-blue chi from my mom, intense reddish-brown from my father, and a pale colour from my friend... So any opinion on this? Am I feeling chi or... Hello there,Firstly I wish you wont see this in a scientific way -- since if you do you will say Chi might possibly not exist. But I believed it did because I had went to chi gong once or twice and felt the chi flow into me from the master.Now to my questions: First I suppose I should tell you Im completely blind. Now to my real question: for whatever reason, when I look at someone (not literarily looking, but rather a different way to describe it), I can see (or feel since I cant see) colours of some sort radiate from the person. I can also feel some form of heat (not body temperature, this Im sure because Im far from the person). And since the sensation of heat is similar to when I went to chi gong when I was very young, I started to wonder whether its Chi Im feeling. Also the intensity increases if Im meditating; particularly if I just relax and not think of a nything; and that sensation usually calms me. Though the weird thing is others couldnt feel it or see it. Someone else also said he could feel the heat when he went to chi gong too, so here Im asking.I just wish Im not imagining things... I can say however the experience of colours if your blind is quite familiar, its called synaesthesia, experiencing one sense in terms of another. For me most things I sense or think of are colour mixed with tactile sensation. i also find if I concentrate I can tell what a person is feeling without speaking to or touching them. I am not prepared to call this Chi, psychic force, aura or mystical energy or anything else, I dont have a name for it, indeed one person I talked to who was a qualified councelor thought it could well be theramones. I dont have an explanation for what! it is, but I experiencially know it exists. however, I will say I am rather wary of accepting others explanations for unfalsifyable claims, sinse j ust because I have a scheptical view of scientific knolidge and belief doesnt mean I accept anything else either, for example I disbelieved the man who once told me I was picking up alien transmissions from the inter dimentional aliens who were observing humanity (Im not actually joking I did meat this man and he didd believe this). So chi? Id recommend looking into how to use chi, making chi balls for healing, making pillars of chi to stand in, thats fun, try it! Its warm! Meditating and holding chi, and there is more but I dont know it. For those that dont believe chi is real, think of chi as the bodies energy but this energy surrounds every living and non living thing in the universe, weather we can see it or feel it or not, its there. I know for me its deffenetly real. I know you said you didnt want a scientific viewpoint and Im not good at giving those, but Im quite sure some scientists said in an article I read quite a while back, that they can use equipment to see the stuff around an object, what they were seeing is energy, or chi. Hello,I have also felt chi, and on accasion Ive created chi balls, now dont expect anything dbz style or such going on, but they do feel like something, not quite solid, bu not quite liquid, in your hand, its jsut... there. It is very interesting because if you spread out your palms the ball starts to spread with you until you sort of, well, shake your hand and the ball just goes away. I once had a ball that was two hands width and honestly, I was kind of surprised I could get it to spread out that much.
