Not necessarily. If you can get past the setup, then Aira your way through enabling usb debugging and install the apk. If not then do as in post 52. Assuming the apk works, it'll lead to the same results anyhow.

THere were problems with the accessibility shortcut in cyanogen 11 and 12 builds too. It's the typical Ubuntu cycle, fix something, break somethin else.

Nah, the accessibility shortcut worked fine on Lineage as well until Android Oreo. In Oreo Google made a lot of API changes and that's when it broke. On the contrary Lineage did not change their setup wizard.

One more to add to that:I'm not sure what device switched the commands, but if the Pixel1 falls under this you may need to do:fastboot flashing unlockinstead of fastbboot oem unlock if that one doesn't work.

I think so? I erased the data partition, used adb push update2.zip /data/ and then typed twrp install update2.zip after first installing update1.zip. In this case, update1.zip is the package for Lineage OS and update2.zip

You *may* need to fastboot -w, though be advised that wipes absolutely everything, so make sure your rom is for the right model, and that you have a baseband upgrade if needed. fastboot -w is used when flashing a stock image
