You could also use a Y cable that's two 3.5mm male plugs to one 3.5mm female jack. Y cables are usually quite short, about six inches, so no matter what you get you may need some kind of extension cable to give you some freedom.

In that case you'll need a Y adapter like I described in my previous message, it will allow you to plug two devices into that one port, whether the port is on the iPhone or your computer.Yeah, Radio Shack today is more like the electronics section

It's a shame Radio Shack is a mear shadow compared to what they used to be years ago. Since now you're lucky if you find the kind of audio gear you need, and most of the people who work there these days haven't a clue if you describe to them in detail

Bestbuy should have standard 3.5mm-to-3.5mm cables you can buy. And if your computer has only one audio port you should get a usb sound card. One such soundcard is the t-media usb headphone set that allows you to plug in a standard pair of headphones

I'd look at using a Y adapter, a male 3.5mm stereo plug to 2 female 3.5mm stereo jacks or a female 3.55mm stereo jack to 2 male 3.5mm stereo plugs. either one would allow you to feed the iPhone's audio to headphones for yourself and some device

I have no idea where my male to male cable came from--came with a portable CD Player? An Alarm clock?I guess the CD player makes sense, since you might want to connect it to external speakers rather than just headphones.But since everything is USB
